Continuously conducted supervised visitation with a grown man and his child in which man would repeatedly verbally and emotionally abuse child; however, Dowden would allow for grown man to briefly excuse himself from therapy to have loud tantrum in the bathroom, and then she allowed man to return to continue conversation encouraging child to go bowling with unstable man. Man was allowed to enter/exit building through the fire escape due to not wanting to have to see child’s mother in waiting room. Dowden finally ended sessions (after years), when man told child, “I never loved you anyway. I was only doing this to get back at your mom.” Dowden did not process any of the impacts of man’s behaviors with child, nor was she equipped to do so. She allowed significant harm to be done, no goals were met, and the end result was lifelong damage beyond repair.
