Truly he has empathy for his clients and a professional mannerism. From the moment I met him, I could see the kindness in his eyes and smile that made me feel at ease instantly. Dr. Tatsumi has helped my friend, myself, and now my mother is also his patient waiting for Neck & Back surgery. In my opinion, His knowledge and skills are unmatched for his field, and his hands are magic. I used to be in Sooo Much constant pain, for over 2 years, but, If I would have known I was in such great care, I would have seen him much sooner! In May 2021, my back began hurting after a chiropractic visit (won't mention the name) all the way down my left leg to my toes. I couldn't walk, sit, lay down, or sleep....I was in constant pain. I was able to get in to see Dr. Tatsumi after a recommendation from a neighbor. One more thing I should mention is that I'm a Surgical Assistant in the area and have worked with other back surgeons, looking elsewhere, I heard goods things about Dr. Tatsumi. He quickly started me with x-rays, then an MRI, which confirmed a large disc herniation, then scheduled my surgery which took place on August 5th. I woke up in recovery without any pain in my back or down my leg, I could tell, though it was a difficult case, that he had succeeded in removing the large disc fragment that had basically crippled me. I am so grateful to Dr. Tatsumi, his PA's and his excellent office staff....they were all fantastic and have made a huge difference in my life.

Dr. T has done a remarkable job, with many patients of mine...I refer to him due to his excellent results. I highly recommend!

Dr. Tatsumi performed L3-5 decompression surgery on me in October 2021. The results were fantastic. The other people in the office were also great to work with. Very nice PA's and staff and the doctor is extremely patient, kind, and knows what he's talking about. This is a money practice. If you have Medicare take a hard and quick pass. I provided a complete history to this office. I was told the Doctor wanted to see me. They brought me into see a PA who was not very experienced then told me to hit the road. This happens. This is really about money. He has good paper credentials. His initial staff was fairly friendly But the office seems a big dingy. It's in a good location if you live in SW Tigard West Linn. It's really sad when people bring you in just so they can bill you. But Medicare reimbursement is so terrible so I get that. But they could have just said no.

Not happy with the results. It was supposed to be a relatively rudimentary back surgery with results that did nothing for my back. Now he wants to do a second surgery. I don't know if I want to go through that again with little confidence of a better result.

Outstanding surgeon and person. Clear, caring, thorough, great listener and takes care to answer questions completely. Not rushed.

Selena always goes above and beyond such as when she worked tirelessly on my behalf with the VA and Tricare to get care authorized. These people just care about their patients and love them as friends would. I am truly grateful that I was referred to Dr. Tatsumi. I saw Dr. Tatsumi in 2014 for surgery to relieve pain due to an L4-L5 disc compression. He said all the right things and surgery seemed to "go fine", but I'm still in pain six years later. I did all the physical therapy as recommended. He said the next step would be fusion. Uh, no thanks. I'm going to try chiropractic and/or naturopathic treatments to see if that helps.

I have had several surgeries to address other orthopedic issues, performed by other surgeons but none have been as efficient as the staff at Oregon Spine Care. The surgical outcome has been great; no more pain, no more restricted movements. Thank you Dr. Tatsumi and staff.

I had a herniated disc issue following an accident. Dr. Tatsumi was able to get me in for an initial consult very quickly. Salem doctors use a triage system and I did not even get a call back until I had already had an appt. with Dr. Tatsumi. I was able to get the pre-op scheduled one week later and surgery one week after that appt. Amazing! The office runs like a well-oiled machine. At my recent post-op I waited three minutes in the waiting room and one minute in the exam room before the doctor came in to see me. I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes! Highly skilled and friendly surgeon with a wonderful staff. The office is super-respectful of patients' and their valuable time. Five stars in EVERY category!

Initially, I chose Dr. Tatsumi based on his reviews. While I acknowledge or believe he has honed his surgical skills, my decision proved to be a mistake. At our first meeting, I was told or led to believe that I would be receiving replacement discs. But in the surgical plan he wrote my treatment was much more than that. In a second meeting, I asked and was told something different. I also had a second spine issue which needed attention. Despite real pain and need to get short term treatment from another doctor, Dr. Tatsumi essentially told me it was not a problem despite test results showing otherwise. When I asked him to reconsider, he had his staff call and tell me to get a second opinion. I cancelled my pending surgery with him. Never heard from him or his staff again. Period. He just washed his hands of me but did remember to bill me. Dr. Tatsumi may have highly honed surgical skills but he has the empathy of a rock. So, all that glitters is clearly not gold.

My husband was having long term neck pain as a pedestrian in a hit and run. He was having near daily migraines and persistent nausea. He had seen a variety of doctors and specialist and most had a hard time even identifying the exact location of his pain. Dr. Tatsumi showed us immediately on the images what it was and, once he showed us, it was so clear where the source was I was amazed no-one else had identified it. The have not ordered x rays and MRIs they want done and they left TWO major surgeries off of my medical record. I included them in the paperwork. I work very hard in my job. After injuring my back Dr, Tatsumi fixed it. not just repaired it, it's fixed, The staff was great, scheduling was easy. and best of all back working with a strong back again

Dr. Tatsumi Has been a joy to work with. No one wants to have surgery but It is necessary Dr. Tatsumi Is my choice. Hhas done all of mine over the last 6 or 7 years. I am very satisfied with everything he has done. I have had multiple issues that have been a process to get taken care of. After 2 neck fusions and 3 Lumbar I finally am feeling like I am done. My wife who has also had 2 neck and 2 lumbar & thinks the same! Thank You Dr. Tatsumi for your fantastic Work, You are the best!!

Dr Tatsumi is professional, friendly and explains the problem and recommended solution completely. Six weeks after back surgery I am completely pain free. I would highly recommend Dr. Tatsumi.

Doctor Tatsumi changed my life. I had been living with level 7-9 pain for 12 years. I interviewed several of the top neuro surgeons in the Portland metro. Dr Tatsumi was the quickest to recognize and most knowledgeable. Great bedside manner. In 45 minutes my life went from misery to bliss. Many friends and clients of mine have had the same result. Do not have spinal surgery before talking to Dr. Tatsumi. He is the leader that all the rest aspire to be. ACDF C-6-7. Surgery at 9 am home by 1 pm

Dr Tatsumi is an incredibly talented surgeon with an awesome bedside manner. I felt comfortable asking questions and he was more than willing to answer them. I never felt rushed. I’m only 41 and I was terrified to have surgery on my neck. He got me in quickly and did my surgery that week. My cervical fusion has relieved my most severe pain and I continue to see positive results as I heal. I will only see Dr. Tatsumi for any future surgeries on my spine. He has an awesome staff as well

Excellent neurosurgeon, takes his time with the patients. Kind staff. I was able to get in quickly which was important to me. My pain was gone after my surgery so I’m very happy with that! Highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Tatsumi - I spent 9 months trying to deal with my lower back, leg and foot pain with a neurosurgeon and finally decided I needed a second opinion when that surgeon wanted to do a double fusion in my upper lumbar where there was no pain. I found Dr Tatsumi and was impressed when he said based only on the x-rays and scans he could understand that but based on my symptoms it looked like L5-S1 nerves should be decompressed. I just had that minimally invasive

I would recommend Dr. Robert Tatsumi for ANY spinal issues. He did my neck surgery two years ago, and a lower back surgery for me this last year. My recovery results were EXCELLENT in both cases. Once again, I would recommend this surgeon for any major surgery needs.

I wish we would of found Dr. Tatsumi five years ago. Dr. Tatsumi did surgery on my lumber spine, and as soon I woke up in post-op, I could feel the difference. Just had my yearly check up, and even did a few dance steps and running in place to show him how GREAT I feel.

Easy to talk to and explained things well. He was highly recommended to me by my Chiropractor, and I was very impressed with my outcome.

I went from crying every day about my neck to feeling normal. My husband attended the initial visit with me and both of us could not believe how comfortable we felt with Dr. Tatsumi and the discussion that we had about what was going to happen. I felt he listened and answered every question I had. I'm back playing high level tennis and looking forward to ski season...that says it all.

After struggling 20 years with an unstable back, chronic pain, decreasing mobility, and trying everything but surgery I was led to Dr. Tatsumi and realized it was time for surgery. I can't thank Dr. Tatsumi enough for "fixing" my neck. He didn't hesitate to take on my case and the whole experience couldn't have been better. Dr. Tatsumi is a very confidant, kind and caring doctor. I would recommend him to anyone.

This dr. Didn't listen, then told me I was wrong about my back and I have excellent posture. Then informed he could send me to a dermatologist for my only bruising. Turned out the bruising was internal bleeding almost killed me. My "perfect posture turned out to be 20° of curvature. This dr. Also wrote in file these things were my head. Horrible dr. !!!!!!!

Very good experience. Dr, Tatsumi is well respected, and is a very pleasant, down-to-earth person as well. I was miserable for a long time prior to my neck surgery, I am MUCH better now. Dr. Tatsumi and his staff are very pleasant and professional.

Prior to my spine surgery completed by Dr. Tatsumi, I was experiencing extreme pain in my lower back & nerve pain in my left leg. Standing was difficult & my quality of life was suffering. Post surgery, I now play golf 4 to 5 times weekly & walk 5+ miles daily on my off days. Dr. Tatsumi is easy to work with & he is involved/concerned about his patients. I highly recommend him.

Everything went perfect. I feel great.

I have needed a back and also a neck surgery and Dr. Tatsumi performed both surgeries. I had the upmost confidence in him and I have had excellent results from the procedures.

My experience with Dr. Tatsumi has been life changing. He is kind, intelligent, informative, caring, helpful and amazing at what he does. When we met, I was at my breaking point. He reviewed what a 2 level fusion @ L4,L5,S1 would do to easy the agony in my legs and low back. 3 hours post surgery, I was walking and could feel my life changing. I am 1 yr. post op absent of pain, riding horse's, gardening, farming, pruning all day and I have never felt better. I have a life again! Thank you!

Best doctor I have ever seen. Terrific surgeon very professional and caring. He called me at home the day after my surgery to see how I was doing. I will see him again if need be and recommend him to anyone needing spine surgery.

Dr Tatsumi did a spinal stenosis surgery on me in January of 2013. The level of care he provided was amazing; he even called me after office hours to discuss my situation. I literally felt better from the time I woke up in the post surgery recovery room.

Dr. Tatsumi and his team are amazing. I was in so much pain pre-surgery & 2 weeks after surgery I feel better than I have in months. It was one of the easiest surgeries I've ever had with minimal pain after. His staff is personable and knows your name. Dr. Tatsumi takes the time to get to know you and is passionate about his work. I'm so grateful I was referred to him and that he gave me my quality of life back!
