Dr. Robert Rafael Segal

I went to 72nd st. for an annual body check. Daniel Kim asked me for the test(Electrocardiogram). Yes, it is covered but he charged me an ultrasound test fee. Name of Robert Segal who is a cardiologist(I never met him).

This doctor, a cardiologist ordered a TTE from my insurance and I never saw him! I will be reporting this to my insurance company.

I apparently had an appointment with this guys in 2017 for a minor chest pain. He charged me thousands of dollars (both to me and my insurance) and also, 4 years later, had a collection agent come after me as he couldn't recoup a 200$ fee the insurance didn't pay back to him. Claims insurance company said coverage was not active at time of service (although accepted copay). Confirmed with insurance company, who received 2 claims from Manhattan Cardiology, that the insurance was active and they were paying the 2 claims. Manhattan Cardiology then decided to charge $2,000 to my credit card (for 5 claims none of which were sent to my insurance company) after I reached out multiple times telling them to contact the insurance company, they never did. This office is a complete mill, they are charging insurance one thing and patients another making up false claims of inactive insurance and not following up with insurance providers. Everyone that saw me in the office was wonderful especially the PA. After I received a very good report from the PA regarding my echo, Dr. Beniaminovitz came in with all negative comments never mentioning any of the tests I had just had. Every sentence out of his mouth had his mother in it. He never stopped comparing me to his mother and all that he would tell her and what she would tell him. He also kept calling me his “colleague” because I’m a nurse which I didn’t appreciate either. All he did was scare me and talk about his mother. Then he began testing me as a nurse and asking what I would say to me if I was my nurse. I left the office very stressed and annoyed. I would never want to follow up with this doctor. He insisted I get a stress test although I said that I didn’t think I could handle it and I had a friend who had a heart attack and died from one. He said he probably would’ve died anyway. He was very weird and unprofessional." By the way, I had seen Dr. Segal and Dr. Welch in the past and they were both wonderful doctors with sensitive bedside manner. Dr Beniaminoviitz was a breath of fresh air for this patient who has seen numerous cardiologists who would only look at one thing: cholesterol and statins. Everyone at the office was amazing! Quick check in process. They run a tight shop through and through! Roanna was especially wonderful and memorable with her easy convo while prepping, during initial tests, and calming demeanor, not to discount Diana, a single bit, who laughed at my Jurassic Park jokes about the noises the ultrasound made and had a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Dr. Beniaminovitz is probably the best physician I have seen to date. Very knowledgable, forthright with information, and professional, yet warm and personable. While the entire office (made up of several doctors) seems to move with breakneck efficiency, everyone from front desk staff to physician's assistants are kind and thorough. No one wants to go to a cardiologist, but if you need to make an appointment, this would definitely be the place I would recommend! I was fairly apprehensive about getting my heart checked out but the entire process was pretty easy and everyone was so nice! The only pain point was the check in text message I received as that was a little confusing but smooth sailing from there. Showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early, was checked in and brought to a room perfectly on time! You know though you can get into a patient room and then still end up waiting forever.... but that didn't happen here! Immediately I was seen by someone to take some more of my info and because I was doing a few different tests, I saw a few different people with barely any wait time between each. It was mostly technicians and RNs but they were very kind and answered all of my questions, while being very comforting and understanding! At the end I was seen by the Cardiologist Dr. Jossef Amirian, and he was amazing! He also answered all my questions and explained all the tests I took and went every all the results in a very easy to understand and reassuring manner. I couldn’t ask for a better team of professionals than the group at Manhattan Cardiology. Dr. Beniaminovitz is, hands down, the best doctor I’ve ever had. His abilities to truly listen and be empathetic to my needs as a patient are second to none. He’s a compassionate professional who genuinely cares about his patients and challenges them when necessary. His Physician Assistant (PA) Lauren is also phenomenal. I first saw Dr. Segal to obtain clearance to undergo major abdominal surgery, a new and daunting experience for me. Needless to say, I was quite apprehensive about this whole situation. Dr. Segal took time to listen to my concerns and carefully explain the purpose of each diagnostic procedure as well as the results. He gave me complete confidence that I was in good hands and that my cardiac status would be fully optimized for a successful surgery and recovery. My surgeon mentioned that she was very happy with how well my cardiac system responded during the challenging procedure, and we are all delighted with how well the surgery and my subsequent recovery has gone. Probably one of the best doctors I've ever encounter. He was fun, which made the experience less scary. Listened carefully and fully understood all my questions and concerns and answered them promptly and professional.

My visit w Dr. Pate for an annual physical was pleasant until I received a medical bill and saw that they charged me for services that weren't part of preventive care which my insurance didn't cover completely. At no point during the visit did Dr. Pate nor her staff explained to me that the tests they were performing were no longer part of an annual physical. After doing some research, I realized that the tests they performed were for people that have/had heart conditions. My blood pressure tested normal and my blood results weren't released til the day after so it's irresponsible for them to perform such extensive tests without looking at my blood results. Please avoid this office! They've been performing unnecessary procedures and dishonest billing for years. I don't know how they kept getting away with it. Dr Beniaminovitz patiently listened and answered all my questions. His diagnosis seemed fully accurate and he was knowledgeable. He was very friendly and made me quite comfortable from the beginning. He conducted all needed tests. The staff was also courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!

I used to see Dr. Bob Segal personally for a few minutes and always appreciated his recommendations at the end of my periodic exams. I was told, since a while, that he is now more of a businessman than the Cardiologist who saved my life. I no longer see him! Georges is not bad! but I miss the good karma of Bob! Still 5 Stars guys! As to the receptionists I would recommend to all the patients who complained to smile and be a little indulgent with them. They are indeed overworked and always very busy. I WAS A PATIENT for the first time a year ago (june 2016 aprox) I MADE AN APPOINTMENT and i had to wait for 45 min...then i was rushed through my exam the front staff are very rude and arrogant SEE FOR YOURSELF After the exam i felt the whole experience as an affront on myself and hoped never to come back- -but guess what ? A year later they force me back and denied my prescription ! I surely understand that need for an appointment after a year but i need the script and cannot make the appointment until next month. i proceed with calling them to ask about this postponement and i am put through a series of menus and hold sufficient to try again another time. i try again 2 more times before giving up. finally i realize that i have one pill left and i better give this another chance. i get lucky and i actually get to leave a message for the doctor to call back. do you think he does? NO I am forced to leave another message a few days later..with the threat of going on line to report this experience if i do not get a returned call....and then finally i get the call...the apology...the excuse of being busy..and the usual reason for poor service. I was traumatized by Dr. Segal. Is he paying for positive reviews? His practice is a meat market. Low level associates do critical tasks like take the input history (current symptoms). When I said I preferred to have Dr Segal take my history, he stormed in (1 hr later) screaming that in his office we did things his way & I was to put on my clothes & leave, he would refund my copay. When I started crying, he yelled at me for that. I said I was sick, pls don't, he insisted I leave. He's a horror.

What a great doctor and the staff is very caring and kind, As a man I really don't see much point in seeing a doctor for chest pain. But my wife was very concerned so she found Manhattan Cardiology as one of the best. She was able to schedule an appointment that same week, On my visit I had an ultrasound done of my heart.The sonographer was very knowledgeable and was showing me a few pictures of what my heart looked like. Dr. Segal as well as the cardiac NP explained what was happening to me and how I can avoid a future heart attack I couldn't believe that I was at risk for something like this.The doctors gave me a diet plan and is now up to me to modify my life style. My initial visit started with the primary office, medical office in Manhattan where they referred me to see the cardiologist Dr Robert Segal. It was the first time that I seen a cardiologist but I shall say that my experience with him was by far one of the best! He was very thorough, friendly, and patient with my questions and concerns since I was new to this specialty. His staff was great as well, they helped me with my check in/check out process. I also wasn't kept waiting for long, where I was then brought back into one of the rooms. The office is very clean and well kept.
