I've been seeing Dr piston for 11 years and he's one of the best orthopedic surgeons known to man there's not enough Stars to give him a high rating but I give him more than a thousand percent

Dr. Piston is thorough, efficient and gentle with his patients. He is knowledgeable beyond most physicians. I’ll recommend him to anyone.

They are very educated, are caring, friendly, willing to work with you and your insurance. Also they make sure you get the amount of time you need. They also have a sense of humor too to help ease the pain. Love this place!

Took time with me told me info about me that other drs never mention refarding my blood clots that they r gone i xan stop worrying that i could die any time. Relieved

I was seen by Michelle. I was there for edema therapy with the pumping sock/boot. Michelle is kind, patient and explains things as she goes. I will be returning one surgeon gives OK, depending on wt bearing status.

Excellent care!

I love Dr Piston! He is so informative and intelligent! He takes his time with you, explaining everything on a patient understanding level and answers all of your questions without rushing! Always very pleasant and kind! If doctors all around were half as good as he is, the world would be a much better place!

Dr. Piston has been the only surgeon I trust with my bones! Dr. Piston has completed a total of 9 surgeries on my hands hips and knee. I can say that he cares more about my health then money. Not many doctors take time to pray with you before surgery but he does. I love the fact that the therapy is below his practice. This is so comforting to know if there is an issue the medical team are a floor away.

Dr Piston is the only doctor that I would trust with my orthopedic needs. Dr Piston has performed many surgeries on me including hand surgeries, a fixator on my left wrist, both hips and a total knee replacement with cadaver knee tendon and muscle. I would trust nobody else to take care of me, if you are looking for a doctor, who is respectful, Prayerful, and helpful look no further than Dr Piston. I often feel that he is certainly in it to help others and it’s not political or financial for him. It is actually that he cares about people. We are very blessed to have him as a doctor in this area .

Dr Piston is Best of the Best in Orthopedics. I have been going to him for around 8 years and every time I have had no problems. Everything went well! Each time all my questions were answered extremely good and he was very reassuring. His whole team is wonderful.

I like to start off by saying from the moment you walk into the office and have interaction with the medical secretaries they're wonderful friendly and very helpful great experience coming into an office for the first time. Dr. Piston is incredible he took time to explain the x-rays. What would be expected further tests that are needed to be done. Went over some of the diagnosis they were in front of him X-rays right now and he went over treatment options. He is a hand on Doctor compassionate, caring and has personal touch outstanding way of Medical Care a genuinely concerning orthopedic surgeon. My favorite part was his interaction with me explaining every bit of what was going on to me so I could understand and the steps that were to continue from here on out waiting for the results that I will be in the following week that makes a great difference. When I first came here, it was due to a scheduling mishap at another office. Looking back at it I’m so glad I was able to get my surgery done by Dr. Piston! Dr. Piston explained in detail my upcoming surgery and answered any questions or concerns that I had. He spent a considerable amount of time with me reviewing my x-rays and MRI. He is a very professional and compassionate doctor. I would highly recommend him.

The doctor canceled after a 3 month wait for appointment.I rescheduled only to have that appointment canceled. Then was told I could reschedule a third time and wait another 3 months .Terrible don’t waste your time this practice is incompetent.

I have gone to Dr Piston's office 7 X now and I have seen a variety of providers in addition to Dr Piston. I have received appointments in a short period of from calling. Dr. Piston is, without a doubt, the BEST OF THE BEST of Orthopedic Surgeons! I would not trust anyone else to perform surgery on me except Dr. Piston. I have complete faith in him! I also would like to mention what a phenomenal staff he has employed in his practice! Everyone is so friendly, warm & caring. Special recognition goes out to Paige, Dr. Piston's CRNP. I am one of Paige's patients. She is absolutely BRILLIANT! She is very thorough & actually is able to find things from taking x-rays that the hospital radiologist has overlooked. That speaks VOLUMES about how good Paige is! She is so kind, friendly, warm & caring. She is highly intelligent & superb at what she does! She takes the time to explain things to her patients. Paige is a definite asset to your practice so I ask...don't let her get away! I would also like to commend the CEO for taking time out of his busy schedule to talk to patients. VERY IMPRESSIVE! Very good place for rehab. Everyone is very nice and rehab is going well.

It is wonderful to go here and know everyone is there to help and heal all the hurts a person has gone through. Thank you.

I was cynical but I’m already doing so much better, I can’t wait to be back to 100%. The staff is extremely friendly and I can’t recommend them enough!!

Knee replacement surgery on August 22nd. Very pleased with Dr. Piston and his staff. They are very quick to respond back to any questions I had. They therapy department is wonderful excellent staff friendly and mindful of any pain you may have during your treatments.

I just saw Dr. Piston and scheduled my second hip replacement. He performed by other hip replacement and a knee replacement and I am extremely happy with both. He reviewed the procedure with me and detail and answered all my questions. The staff at Specialty Orthopedics greeted me friendly and the scheduling my appointment was made at a convenient time for me. Highly recommend Dr Piston!!

Dr. Piston spent endless time with me examining my shoulder, my knee and my hand. He saw all problems that I presented with at the same visit. He offered diagnosis and treatment for each. Where else can you find that. Thank you

Dr Piston has taken care of me, my spouse, in-laws, and children. He is very caring and knowledgeable and spends time making sure all of our questions and concerns are addressed.

I came to this practice from Harrisburg PA because of the reputation. I had a very complex problem which Dr. Piston was able to repair. His physician assistants and nurse practioner are also outstanding. He answered all my questions and called me once I returned home. I highly recommend this practice.

We have had my wifes scheduled visit cancelled 4 times with each visit gets pushed at least up to 7 weeks. He is a good surgeon however to keep getting bumped around and having to deal with pain we will be changing very soon.

I will never go back! Great Dr, did 2 surgeries of mine. However, getting in to see him has become next to impossible. Cancelled another one of my appointments today 1/17. The original was for the beginning of summer. They've cancelled 5 times and always set me back to the end. That's ridiculous. I will never go back to him. Dr Piston is wonderful. His rehab facility is the best! He did surgery on my husband & I have been in his rehab facility for dissection of my wrist. We cannot be more satisfied!

Front desk and some staff is so rude... it is everytime we come we deal with one or more smart response short tempered person. Doctor was good but only saw in surgery. When my son got hurt while in cast, I waited 2 days to just get cast changed when the lady actually wraped it to tight.. same lady first time she changed cast she litteraly started pulling pins from my sons hand because she didnt realize as she pulled there were pins in there... it's been very stressful.. and front desk lady's are very temperamental and rude.... Dr.Piston is some times hard to get into but he's worth the wait. He has been so amazing to me. His staff upstairs and downstairs is amazing too!

I recently underwent hand surgery to fix a broken 4th metacarpel in my right hand. It was a spiral fracture and the bone was displaced. Dr. Piston explained the entire procedure to me, really making it clear to me what was happening. It made me feel like he was keeping me involved in the whole process. The surgery went well. I had motion in my hand as soon as I woke up and it has been healing perfectly. I highly recommend going to Dr. Piston because he is excellent at what he does! Dr. Piston & his staff have been amazing in each of my surgeries. First was a total hip replacement (right hip) in 2015, then an elbow bursa sack removal in May of 2017 and most recently (9/7/17), my 2nd total hip replacement (left hip). In each procedure there were specific pre-op steps to help in the recovery period. Dr. Piston took the time to explain each step and what to expect post-op!! Overall, Dr. Piston and his team Exceeded Expectations on all fronts, including the amazing progress from the Physical Therapy team. Dr. Piston operated on my son's hand on 9/26/17, one day after seeing him in the office. The break was the result of a football injury and Dr. Piston knew how important it was to my son that he get the injury repaired quickly. Dr. Piston met me in the waiting area and gave a very thorough explanation of the operation and how well everything had gone. When I later relayed this to my son I learned that Dr. Piston had very clearly explained everything to him as well. We have been going to the fitness section of Specialty Orthopaedics for many years and have always had a super experience. Being on the surgery and then therapy side was just as wonderful. My son was in very capable hands medically as well as personally. It was clear that Dr. Piston knew my son and was going to do everything he could to get him back on the field. Dr. Piston is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the area! He and his staff provide top-notch care to all of his patients - he spent time with me to explain my treatment options, made my surgery very easy for me, and checked in with me constantly after my surgery to make sure I was doing well. He has an excellent record as a highly-skilled surgeon and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

I went to Dr. Piston for my hip and knee issues, which have been bothering me for years. The wait was very reasonable to see the doc and a physician assistant handled the intake. Dr. Piston is a kind doctor who took the time to explain every step of the exam and surgical/non-surgical options to me. I am confident Dr. Piston always had my best interests in mind. The surgery went very well and Dr. Piston checked in many times to make sure I was doing well post-op. Best doctor in western PA!

I have been very happy with the care receive that Dr. Pistons office. He and his physician assistants treated me quickly and diagnosed and treated my problem thoroughly. I would gladly return to this office if I developed an orthopedic problem. Steve
