Dr. Robert D Pfeffer

I have been going to Dr Pfeffer for over 15 years. He diagnosed me for colon cancer and aligned me with a great team to survive cancer. He is informative and caring. He take his time on every visit. I highly recommend Dr Pfeffer. His staff are very nice and the office is efficient and easily reachable.

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done under the guidance of Dr. Pfeffer. After the procedures I did not receive any follow-up call from Dr. Pfeffer. 2 weeks after the procedures I contacted his office and they told me I should have received a follow up call already. They said they would leave a message for Dr Pfeffer to contact me. He has never contacted me. It's been over 1 month since my procedures. I think it is incomprehensible and ethically wrong for a doctor to treat his patients in this way. I had some questions and concerns about my procedures, but this doctor did not make himself available for any kind of follow up to address my concerns. It's been over a month since my procedures and I still don't know how they went or what they found. I would advise anyone who needs these procedures done to steer clear from Dr Pfeffer, unless you want to be left behind without knowing anything about the results.

Dr. Pfefer is a competent and wonderfully caring individual.

I really liked Dr Pfeffer who I went to for the 1st time last week. He calmed me down and after taking his advice my issue began to resolve immediately. I especially appreciated his kind demeanor. I was referred to him by another NYU Langone MD who I respect highly.

An excellent physician who cares deeply about his patients. Dr. Pfeffer took special care to explain what was going on, the science behind it and the medical consensus. His colonoscopy and endoscopy staff at NYU are superb.

Great doctor. Have had 3 colonoscopies with him. First was awake with a very light twilight and must have driven him crazy with “Ooh wow! Look at the thing on the left! Can you get closer?” with which he was very patient. Next 2 were deeper twilights (great anesthesiologist ) so I wouldn’t drive him nuts ((have had other surgeries awake- highly recommend it!). He’s a little nerdy but very bright, gentle, knowledgeable, great bedside manner. And don’t worry about colonoscopies- they’re very easy and NO big deal! Great doctor. Dr Pfeffer and his staff were very pleasant and professional. I visited him for my initial colonoscopy. The initial consult was informative and dispelled my concerns about the procedure. The prep instructions I was given were clear. The procedure itself was trouble-free and efficient.

Dr Pfeffer is an excellent and caring doctor. But nurse, Bonnie Wise is useless. Pre-op visit went fine. I needed to get clearance and EKG from my cardiologist before scheduling the colonoscopy. Spoke to Ms Wise a few days later; she was going to send me revised instructions. I called the next week; told she was reviewing EKG and would call me back. I made two more calls and was again told she would call back, allowing me to schedule. No letter ever rec'd; no call back. So never able to schedule

I've scheduled colonoscopies using Dr. Pfeffer twice in the past three years and, on both occasions, I was required to first see a nurse practitioner ahead of the procedure. On both occasions, the nurse practitioner was a complete no show. Worse ye, the receptionists simply took my name until I waited long enough to ask what was going on, only to be told that the nurse simply wasn't there. I went back the first time but not this year. There are other doctors..
