Dr. Nantais was the third surgeon I sought an opinion from regarding my flatback condition. The first, a younger surgeon recommended a radical procedure to rebuild my spine one vertebrae at a time. This would have required cutting me open in both front and back with incisions from the length of my neck to my waist, an 8 hour procedure at age 74. That was entirely too high a risk. And, I would still be in 40% pain as I am now. The second surgeon recommended a less radical procedure cutting in the area of the lower spine. Dr. Nantais advised that the 8 hour surgery was too risky. He noticed a narrowing of the nerve passage in my back causing occasional numbness in my legs as well as a bone spur. He advised to hold off on any surgery until my nerve issues became more prevalent. I like a Dr. who makes a living doing surgery giving me advise not to have unnecessary surgery. Kudos to Dr. Nantais. Oh... and by the way, he is patient, listens intently and doles out sensible advice. Wait if you have to, but he's been recommended as the top man in the field. The Dr is good but the place it self and when you call to make a important phone call to get surgery sucks.i called 2 days ago and left a message as well as left a message on the page and still no call back.

Dr. Nantais may be a fine physician but that was not my experience. He misdiagnosed a wrist injury which was very painful and not improving after almost 5 months under his care. He just keep going on with the usual non-surgical treatments that were clearly pnot working. I believed that he did not really listen to my pain complaints and so I sought another opinion with a hand specialist who promptly identified the soft tissue and joint injuries sustained from the fall in January.

Dr. NANTAIS HAS PERFORMED 3 SURGERIES ON ME, AND HE IS VERY CARING AND EFFICIENT IN HIS FIELD.

In my opinion...Dr Nantais is everything you look for in a doctor....kinowledgable, direct yet personable and caring! ...and I can still say this after getting a shot of cortisone in my knee today! I had heard and read so much about the pain of the needle that I was in denial about my growing limitations. The needle didn't hurt at all and I'm already walking up steps again!
