Nice doctor, nice receptionists and staff. Getting thru to this place to get an appointment is the only drawback. Takes forever.

I am so grateful that Dr. Robert Lance Montgomery Jr. was able to help me with Right Knee pain for 3 weeks after my emergency since 5/11/22 at St. Jude Hospital. He squeezed me in in his schedule without waiting for appointment. He treated me right away to reduce my knee pain. All the medical staff of Ortho west was so helpful to attend the patient needs and care. I highly recommended South County Orthopedic Specialist to all my family and friends that needed genuine care for our wellness and wellbeing. I had a hip replacement with Dr. Montgomery 4 years ago and my experience with him was so positive when my knee went out he was the only doctor I wanted seeing me. He is so knowledge, explains everything throughly, is so caring, and most of all friendly. My knee is not bothering me any more thanks to his correct diagnosis and care. High recommend!

The before appointment waiting room stay was not bad at all. About 15 minutes Dr Montgomery is polite, and clearly knows his stuff. I feel very good about having him perform my knee surgery soon. Dr Montgomery knows his stuff. He is smart, knowledgeable and thorough. Once you manage to get in you will be pleased. Unfortunately you might wait for 15-30 calls ahead of you when you call. The wait is long. If you need additional help the front desk won’t help you. You get a short curt receptionist who won’t go the extra step to help. And texting is a joke. Days for a response. Once you get to the office things run pretty smooth. Good luck.

Dr Montgomery is an excellent Doctor. He just replaced my left knee and he’d did my right knee 3 years ago. The scars are barely visible. He is very personable and answers all your questions. I am very happy with him! On my last visit I was asked to be there 15 minutes early and I was. My daughter and I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to see him. When we got there there were people in the waiting room and several more came in after me. When we were called in only 2 were remaining in the waiting room! All that came in after me were called before me. We asked when we would be called a few times and they didn’t care to try to help us. Told us he was running late, but others were called! It wasn’t until I asked to reschedule that they finally took care of us. We had told them we had another appointment that we would be late to. I feel this was a front office mistake, not the doctors. It was handled very poorly!

You are incredible. I am so glad I saw you. I got out of bed this morning and realized I had done so pain free. The medication you prescribed once a day actually relieved much of my pain. I was told that my knee looked well on the MRI after several seconds of gaze on the image and given a fistbump along with a piece of paper which had a list of supplements on, by this doctor. I told the him that I occasionally had sharp pain, in fact my pain increased Yesterday evening, sameday I was at his clinic. He was to see me 50 mins according to the referral's estimate. All it took was less than 5 for him to wrap it up. Not feeling like cared at all, rather realized I was just $$. Sorry, not happy AT ALL. Having a previous hip replacement performed by Dr Montgomery, he is the only doctor I would trust to perform hip or knee surgery on me in the future.

I was in for a cortisone shot and as usual he did a great job. I would recommend Dr. Montgomery to anyone.

I had a consultation with Dr. Montgomery about my knees. He reviewed my X-rays and MRI. He explained my options very throughly. He left the decision about knee replacement surgery up to me. I intend to have Dr. Montgomery do the surgery.

I went to Wave Image for X-rays of both knees. Then had an appointment with R. Lance Montgomery, MD at OrthoWest. He was thought full and though evaluating my condition. I got large steroid shot in one knee that instantly help me walk and balance better. This is only a temporary treatment for pain and my next visit will be to schedule a knee replacement. Staff friendly, respectful, and professional. Dr. . Montgomery personable and took time to explain diagnosis and prognosis. Wait time minimal. . My only complaint is that office won’t accept cash or check for co-pay.

Dr Montgomery is patient kind and listens. He gives options and treats you with respect. I had a shoulder that was causing debilitating pain and this was the best option for me at this point. Dr. Montgomery also did surgery on my rt shoulder in the 2000’s. I recommend Dr. M. highly!

This was my 1st time seeing doctor Montgomery and within 5 minutes I completely trusted him w any surgeries I may need on both knees. I have tears in my meniscus in both knees And may need a possible knee replacement... Doctor Montgomery did not try and rush me in for surgery, he suggested I do alternative treatment first such as icing , meds for inflammation green tea turmeric And some topical treatment 1st if this does not work possibly cortisone injections. This really impressed me you don't find many doctors these days who give you a natural alternative 1st. My experience with Dr. Lance Montgomery Is always positive and very professional. He always puts me at ease when he is treating me. He’s very calm and precise. I’ve seen other orthopedic surgeons for my knee injuries and they did not perform anywhere near Dr. Montgomery. I’ve always been frightened about having knee replacement surgery. I’ve seen three other orthopedic surgeons in Orange County and had no confidence in them (and they came highly recommended). He is the best and will be doing my full-knee replacement surgeries. Dr. Montgomery is quick, clear and concise. He answers questions confidently and is reassuring in the possibility of a possitive outcome.

Really efficiently run office. I was taken back on time, only had to wait a minute or two for Dr. Montgomery to come in. X-rays were needed, and he walked me over, they took me right in and by the time I walked back to the room, the Dr. was back with the X-rays. I’m sure I’ll have even more good things to say after my surgery.

Doctor Montgomery is amazing. He did a knee replacement on my left knee and it turned out great. I am back to doing the things I love. He has great bedside manor and is very personable. I highly recommend him for any of your ortho needs. The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. Thanks for everything SCOS!!

Dr. Montgomery is always kind and informative and explains things in a manner people can understand. He takes the time to to examine you and doesn’t make you feel like he’s in a rush, even when he’s extremely busy. His staff is also extremely efficient and organized! My time is valuable to me and the staff does everything possible when comes to getting you checked in, into the treatment room, taking whatever X-rays you may need and then back to the treatment room in a timely manner. I had a hip replaced by Dr. Montgomery in 2018 and the procedure and the results couldn’t be any better. Unfortunately, I need my other hip replaced now, thank goodness I feel confident that I am in good hands with Dr. Montgomery.
