Dr Robert McCoy was straightforward with my wife’s diagnosis. He was friendly, attentive and supportive on how she was feeling about her leg lipomas. The surgery went well and the incision site is healing well. My wife is grateful for having him as her doctor.

Sorry for late review but just filled out paperwork to get a sore knee diagnosed in another state. The question came up on prior surgery and who the doctor was. Well, only had one surgery and that was a slight hernia repair by Dr. McCoy in April/2017. This guy and his whole staff were so professional !! I called McCoy 'Bones' from Star Trek series jargon and he knew (prob gets that a lot) exactly what that was, and we had fun with that. Dr. McCoy answered all questions and was very reassuring about full recovery. It is now Oct 2021 and never a problem again with the hernia. If I was still in CA. I would still be seeing this Dr. and Group, knowing if something came up that they couldn't handle, I would be given a first rate referral to someone that could. Dr. McCoy performed a hernia repair surgery on me. After healing, I was still in great pain and my CT scan was still showing a hernia in the same location. I had to beg for him to go in a second time. After this surgery (if anything was done), I was and am in terrible pain. I recently had a hiatal hernia surgery performed by another surgeon and he assessed what was wrong. The surgery performed by Dr. McCoy showed that he did not sew my hernia together but, only put the mesh on top of an open hernia. Two years of agonizing pain and I will soon be able to repair it by a good surgeon. Dr. McCoy's bedside manner throughout my ordeal was terrible and his attitude towards me was that of dismissing my pain and would not acknowledge that it could be from his surgery. EXCELLENT Doctor! HIGHLY recommend!!

My experience with Dr. McCoy and his staff was excellent. His communication with me was clear and direct. I appreciated his honesty. He took as much time as needed during all of my appointments. Would highly recommend. Also, my experiences with the Plaza Surgery Center, the breast center, the MRI and nuclear med departments and St. Jude Hospital Surgery were excellent. The nurses and staff carried out their jobs with caring and excellence.

Dr. McCoy left me in worse pain than before he performed my surgery (twice). I still showed that i had a hernia on a CT Scan directly after hernia repair. I was in terrible pain and Dr. McCoy was dismissive. I begged him to do surgery a second time and nothing was repaired. I just had hiatal hernia repair by another surgeon and requested that this surgeon assess what was wrong and why I was in so much pain. He explained to me that the hernia "repair" that I received from Dr. McCoy only showed that he sewed a mesh on. He did NOT sew my hernia shut prior. This left a pocket and my open hernia rubs against the plastic mesh. TERRIBLE that I have to have 3rd surgery to fix what Dr. McCoy was negligent at. I have been in pain for over 2 years...I highly suggest you have someone else operate on you. Dr. McCoy did not care that I was in pain and that there was something wrong. He just didn't want to admit that he did a poor surgery.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer under the care of a different doctor/medical provider. Its devastating enough to learn you have cancer but to be given the run around that im not approved to see a surgeon or oncologist just added more unnecessary stress. Thats when i switched over to St Jude and was under the care of Dr Mccoy, he is absolutely the most genuine doctor i have ever met. Very professional, caring, compassionate and didn't make you feel rushed and he made sure you understood everything. He always told me they will take good care of me and thats exactly what he and his staff did. The day of surgery talking with hospital staff, they all spoke very highly of Dr Mccoy which made me feel very fortunate that i was under the care of a very highly respected surgeon. Thank you Dr Mccoy and the St Jude Staff for taking great care of me and making me feel at ease through this devastating journey! Dr. McCoy is very quiet and direct - but tease with him and you'll find a sense of playfulness and a good sense of friendship. I trusted his hand twice (gallbladder that led to discovery of gallbladder cancer and follow up surgery) and melanoma (surgery and lymph node removal). These surgeries were six years apart. All's well that ends well and the folks at St. Jude, outpatient center, Dr. McCoy and his staff were all awesome. I trust his hand and his knowledge.

Dr. McCoy is a fantastic surgeon. He is open, honest, and has wonderful bedside manners. He performed my laparoscopic cholecystectomy in 37 minutes. No issues at all. I highly recommend Dr. McCoy.

Dr. McCoy has a great bed side manner. He explains in detail what is going on, showing test results and describes the next step with no pressure. He shows genuine interest in my well being and making me comfortable in a scary time. I am healing quickly and the scars are minimal.

Dr. Robert McCoy is a great surgeon, very professional, compassionate, friendly, even funny. The doctor who does not treat you as a medical statistic but personally cares about you. To get ready for the surgery, you need to go through many departments of the hospital. In the process, I also found out that many people who work there, had a personal experience with Dr. McCoy-themselves, or through their family members. They all regard Dr. McCoy with high praise and admiration. I am very grateful and fortunate to have been treated by Dr. McCoy. Dr. McCoy is truly one of a kind in his specialty. He performed a very difficult and delicate surgery on my 77 year old wife and through it all, he was there for us every day for a visit after the surgery. I would recommend his skills and abilities as well as his personal touch as the best there is in his specialty.

Dr McCoy is an excellent doctor, listens to concerns and explains very well.

Dr. McCoy was excellent. He treated me with respect and compassion. I have had many health problems leading up to my surgery which he understood. His entire team was fantastic. Hats off to the surgical nurses who made me feel as ease. Also the anesthesiologist was the best in any surgery I have ever had. My experience was blessed with this team and I thank them all.

I am due to have surgery next week. I realize this doctor has a large staff. I was trying to have my surgery in January - couldn't get scheduled until February. It took the scheduler 10 days to call me to schedule, after I had my appointment. Then I called the"scheduler" to ask some questions about which medications I should stop taking. I left a message. I had to call a couple days later again to ask again. Not happy with the mannerisms of his staff - he needs a more responsive staff.

Dr. McCoy was one of the first doctors to take my condition seriously, and worked quickly and efficiently to get all my issues addressed. I have another appointment with him to resolve the issue as it has arose in a different location and am relieved to be in such able hands again.

Misdiagnosis and immediately suggested pain management. Looking for a new surgeon, after family doctor in Guadalajara reviewed MRI. Lost trust in Dr. McCoy
