I was concern with a hernia and he said it was tiny and I should do nothing. He said he was glad I brought my wife because wives who don't hear it directly tend to doubt their husbands and return to hear it in person. Nice staff and great DR.

Told on May 14 that they would contact me regarding my referral for port removal and that they would contact my primary for referral. Checked Blue/Cross no referral as of Jun 13. Have to make appointment with primary they said. Primary said they contacted them on June 13 as no referral done. Wedding in two days with son in Cancun. Wanted pictures without port that you can plainly see in my neck. Thanks Surgical Associates. Dr. Markus has that rare combination of being an extremely skilled surgeon along with a compassionate bedside manner. He listens and converses with his patients. My gallbladder surgery and recovery were without complications. Another plus was I was seen for my appointments on time. Would highly recommend him to anyone. Oh by the way, I’m a RN and have had many encounters with surgeons to base my opinion on.

Dr Markus is excellent- he takes time to explain things to patients and he’s a thorough and very experienced surgeon. I highly recommend him.

I was given a 9 a.m appointment, weeks in advance. 19 hours before the appointment, my appointment was moved to 10 a.m. When I arrived at 10 a.m. I was told to wait in my car because no rooms were available. I wasn't called until 10:30 a.m., only to find out I was at thier old address. When I finally got to the right place at 11:00 a.m, I was treated like a child. I'm going to see if thier is another provider available. I recommend you do the same. I had hernia surgery a few days ago with Dr. Markus. From my first pre-surgery visit to the surgery itself, he has been fantastic. Dr. Markus clearly explained the process before surgery. On the day of the surgery, it was reassuring to hear nearly everyone at the surgery center telling me what a great surgeon he was. He came in before the surgery to answer any questions and go over the post-surgery treatment. Everything went smoothly. I found out later that he called my wife right after the surgery and went over the post surgery instructions with her, just to be sure I took care of myself.Dr. Markus called the day after the surgery to check on me again. I am pretty grateful to Dr. Robert Markus, he removed my gallbladder recently and it was my first time having general anesthesia. He made me feel comfortable and safe, plus he explained to me the procedure and the benefits of my surgery. I highly recommend him, he is the best surgeon also, he speaks Spanish and has a great sense of humor. If you are looking for the best it's Dr. Robert Markus!

Dr Markus is smart, efficient and kind. I went to him for a very embarrassing but painful issue. He put me completely at ease, explained everything to me, and took great care of me. Wonder man. Terrific doctor.

Dr Marcus MD is a fabulous surgeon! He used the DiVinci Robotic for my hernia surgery. I’m healing wonderfully in only 5 days.... My wife and I experienced professional care over the top from day one. The surgery was done at Arise Surgical Medical hospital in Austin. Great surgical location too! Greetings to all of you , As an emergency patient in huge pain and fear of the unknown, it was Dr Markus who came in from being on call... He rescued me from the first moment of eye contact. His confidence , professionalism, quick response to my situation and actions were remarkable. Felt safe and secure , trusted him completely. He basically saved my life. I highly recommend Dr Markus. I saw Dr. Markus 5 years ago and he made such an imprint on me, I felt it necessary to post a review so many years later. He was very friendly, funny, patient, and knowledgeable. Now I live in Colorado and need a surgeon, but don't think anyone will compare. I highly recommend Dr. Markus!

Dr. Markus made me feel very comfortable during my experience. He took the time to answer all of my questions and explain to me everything that was going to be done for my surgical procedure. He has a wonderful sense of humor that also breaks the stress and tension. If I ever need a surgeon again in my future I will definitely be coming back to him.
