About Robert E Lins
Reviews for Robert E Lins
Dr. Lins is very instructive during the procedure. He creates a very relaxing atmosphere, is thorough and compassion. I know that I'm in good hands.
1.5 hour wait for the 2nd time! If this is the way it’s going to be then schedule less patients. DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THE PATIENTS! Not your bottom line. Stop cramming us all in for 15 minutes if it’s going to take 30. Rediculous!!
My family has been going to the CENTER FOR BONE & JOINT for years and after waiting an hour and 42 minutes after my appointment time, I finally walked out of the office. Absolutely disgusting and not one personnel in the office let anyone in the waiting room know why everyone was so delayed. Completely unprofessional, and not a care in the world as you are just a number in line.

Excellent bedside manner. Very comfortable around here.
I have had three appointments with Dr lins- all have been on time. He is very detail oriented!
They are the best
I waited 1-1/2 hours for my 4pm appointment, finally gave up and rescheduled. This has happened before
Dr. Lins is a kind, caring doctor who I find to be extremely competent.
Good service but long wait time.
Sat for way to long after appt time. Other than that new facilities are very nice.

Very wonderful and professional. Dr. Lins is an AWESOME physician, very knowledgeable and caring.
Prompt, courteous service. Love Dr. Lins,Dr. Simpson and the staff of Centers for Bone and Joint Surgery
Excellent!
Waited 2 hours to be seen for 15 minutes. As a new patient, I was expecting a more thorough examination and discussion about my diagnosis and treatment plan. He’s nice, but poorly manages his time. The office repeatedly stated that he is always 1 hour behind.
Dr. Lins is excellent. I think he is over booked.

i am very comfortable with the office and feel confident being treated by Dr Lins
Dr Lins is a very peasant and caring doctor he explains your health Issues and tell you your options.
Very impressed with Dr. Lins. His bedside manner and thoroughness made me feel well taken care of.
I have been having such a hard time with my neck pain recently, I went to see Dr Lins and he was so comforting, smiling and makes you feel like he truly cares. Provided proper care and assessment. .
Overall visit was horrible! Appt was for 2:45. I missed another appt at 4:00 because I sat in the waiting room until 4:20 to be called in. After X-ray, waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. There was no apology for the long wait, no explanation from staff as to why doctor might have been held up - nothing. Almost as if this was SOP. I like Dr. Lin’s and if anyone wants to endure an hour and a half’s wait, then by all means do so. He’s a good doctor. As for me, I’ll go elsewhere.
Dr Lins and his staff provide the most caring, kind, and professional service. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who has bone or joint issues.
The receptionist top class, Dr Lin’s nurse is wonderful and caring, and Dr Lin’s listened to my concerns and explained the issue in great detail. He is a pro and a gentleman and his office and assistants are a well oiled team.

I had a good experience with this doctor, his bedside manner was great, he explained things and always asked if I had more questions. He ensured I came in for a follow up ASAP once he saw my concerning MRI results. The office could use some updating but other then that, good experience
My name is Jeremy mankoff and Dr. ROBERT LINS is one of the best Dr's I have encountered in his field. He is intelligent in his approach but also respectfull and always makes you feel he is there for you I highly recommend him .

Very good. Very knowledgeable and compasionate
I have been operated on by Doctor Lins five times over the last ten years. The first procedure was to repair a traumatized wrist with all the tendons totally cut through from an accident. My wrist and fingers are fully functional, even though hospital E/R doctor said don’t get your hopes too high. Several other surgeries after that to my hands and elbow went perfectly. He treated trigger lock in my left thumb with Cortisone and the inflammation subsided staving off the need for surgery. Doctor Lins always has a smile and portrays every characteristic of Marcus Welby. I’m so happy he accepts my health insurance. Thank you Doc. Dr Lins is an excellent, caring doctor.
Dr Lins has treated me on two different occasions and each time he has been caring and compassionate. He listens to what you have to say. He even came in VERY early one morning to get me an epidural. I was leaving to go out of town and he had a full schedule. He called the surgery office while I was with him and even put an alarm on his phone to wake up early. He is AMAZING! EXcellent experience. Much time devoted to explaining my situation and I was treated like the most important person in the world. Amazing doctor, amazing staff.Amazed that Dr. Lins went to medical school right after high school!
I love Dr. Lins! He's professional, friendly, and I think even brilliant ???? Have seen him for 2 separate hand issues, and I am quite impressed. I recommend him highly.
Dr. Lins and his crew were very friendly and professional. He explained to me all of my options and showed genuine concern. His sense of humor made my visit very comfortable. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with joint issues
Excellent doctor. Explained everything to me with detail no rush. Office medical staff are very nice to me.

Wonderful staff Dr Lin is great
Everyone there was professional. Taken within 15 minutes and explained exactly what was going to take place. It seemed that everyone enjoyed working there
Dr. Lins is very welcoming and a total professional. He walks you through the entire procedure so you're not guessing what's next.
I really like and trust Dr Lins. He is kind I feel that he listens to me with my issues..He is so energetic and it kind of makes me feel up! Thank you for helping me.????
Dr Lins. Performed surgery on my hand for a Cyst. Each time I visited his staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Dr Lins took his time and answered each of my questions until I wa fully satisfied.
Dr. Lins is a very friendly, very professional doctor. He explained the entire process and answered all of my questions.
Staff Is friendly and efficient . Doctor Lins is calm and comforting. He explains everything and listens to you.
My visit was excellent. I would definitely come back to a great Doctor Lin’s.
Waited almost 2 hours to see the doctor. Then he said he couldn't give me a steroid shot for my aching thumb because I had a blister. Dr. Lins was patient and kind. The staff was kind as well. Will not return. I don't want to sit in a waiting room for a long period of time.
Two hour wait time!
My initial visit to Dr. Lins’ office was for a thumb injury acquired in a game of tennis. (they say tennis is not a violent sport). Dr. Lins diagnosed me with a hairline fracture and recommended appropriate care & follow up. Dr. Lins was professional, attentive and forthcoming. His staff was also warm and welcoming. I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Lins to family & friends.
I saw Dr Lins for hand pain. After a few treatments my hand is pain free.
I'm currently recuperating from successful carpal tunnel surgery. Very pleased with my level of care throughout the process. I would be happy to recommend Dr. Lins who was very thorough and patient. Many thanks to him and to his staff for their follow through.
My experience with Dr. Lins was incredible. I first came to Dr. Lins in the end of June with excruciating pain in my leg. He sent me for tests immediately which revealed a herniated disc that was pressing on a nerve. Dr Lins explained the only resolution was an operation. I was somewhat in shock. He told me he was leaving town for a few weeks and he wanted me to meet with a neurosurgeon immediately in case it got worse while he was away. His office manager set me up with an appointment for the next day. After meeting with the neurosurgeon, surgery was set up. I had surgery and woke up completely pain free. I found Dr. Lins to be thorough, compassionate and caring. I knew as soon as I met with him I was in excellent hands.
If you like waiting 2 hours and then spend 15 mins with Dr Lin’s who tells you he’s late for surgery and is abrupt and you walk out not really knowing anything at all, then go here. NOT. We have seen Dr Lin’s 8 times. My husband has acute pain. 85 years old. He drags out your treatment you wait endlessly and sometimes he doesn’t show up. You don’t get a call to warn you. This last time a gentleman left the practice having waited too long. (Changing doctors.) I almost applauded. This last visit he didn’t even remember my husband or that he had given him 3 epidurals so far. (end May to July 16) Our next visit for an epidural will be our last and we will find someone else. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this frustrated with a Dr. If you like waiting 2 hours and then spend 15 mins with Dr Lin’s who tells you he’s late for surgery and is abrupt and you walk out not really knowing anything at all, then go here. I cannot recommend Dr. Lins. I went to him with so much hope after another doctor in the practice requested I have a follow up appointment with him specifically. I even got more excited as I waited in the lobby and saw all his plaques with awards and patents for different surgical techniques he developed. I thought for sure I finally made it to the doctor who was going to help my orthopedic pain because he must know his stuff! Turns out he won’t treat the shoulder, only the neck, and the other doctor won’t treat the neck, only the shoulder, and there’s no communication between one and the other so I’m stuck with zero solutions to my problems. Just getting passed around so I can keep swiping my credit card. I wasted nearly $100 on a copay for 4 min of his time so he can tell me he can’t help me. The saddest thing is that he was not concerned whatsoever and didn’t care. I tried to make the most of it by asking questions and I felt like he was just trying to get rid of me because he had already decided he was not going to help me. If you need surgery, maybe he’s who you need, but otherwise, he may just pass you on the next guy. I cannot recommend Dr. Lins. If you are looking for a personalized experience where you and your concerns are addressed in a compassionate or even an average way, I do not recommend you see Dr. Lins. I cannot speak to his surgical efforts or really much of anything other than the wait time and insensitivity I experienced from him, but here, is my story. Both times I saw Dr. Lins, I felt like a number or a lifeless body he was trying to "get through". At my first visit, I waited an hour to see him. (I went in for lower back pain and tailbone pain that I've experienced on and off for 2.5 months. I fell on my tailbone in May 2020 and the pain stopped in June 2020, and then returned in January 2021.) During the first visit, I had some standing xrays done and was told by a PA that there was no fracture or much of anything on my xrays other than "normal arthritis for a 41-year-old" and "normal wear and tear" for someone my age. I saw Dr. Lins for 5 minutes on the first visit, and he gave me Rxs to get two MRIs saying "we'll have more information the next time I see you." I got the MRIs promptly the next week - I was in the machine for 90 minutes, BTW - and went back yesterday to meet with Dr. Lins. He came in, checked a few things on my body and reported there was nothing on the MRI in his area of expertise. He referenced some gynecological notes on the MRIs and recommended I see my gyn for those as well as my GP to have my colon and other internal organs checked to make sure there wasn't anything there that was dislpcayong the pain to the tailbone or lower back. He also advised me to have my ob/gyn check out a cyst and a few other things that were noted on my MRIs (one of which was bilateral follicles, which are eggs, and totally normal for a woman who is of childbearing years). When I asked him if it was okay for me to use ice on my tailbone when I experience pain there, he completely shut me down, saying he wasn't going to treat that today because I had reported not being in pain at that very moment. (He had asked me when I'd last had the pain at the beginning of the appt and I'd said 24-48 hours ago.) I tried telling him that the pain comes and goes all the time - sometimes on and off all day - and he said, "We're going with no pain today. We're going to roll with that. If it comes back, you come back in and see me and I'll give you some possible things you can do," I repeated again that the pain comes and goes, trying to assert my needs, and he again said, "You come back if it happens again, okay? Today were going with no pain. We're rolling with that." (The pain started again as I walked out of his office.) Then, I asked him about the "mild, mild, mild arthritis" that was "totally normal for a 41-year-old like me" that he had mentioned, hoping to get some more information about what to do about this pain and what exactly it is. I wanted to know what arthritis feels like, since I've never been told I have that before and have absolutely zero experience with it. And his answer was simply, "Pain." and that was it. The whole experience felt demoralizing and demeaning and like he didn't have time for me. I felt like my questions were stupid, I was wasting his time, and 'Why wouldn't I just drop it already because the king has spoken?' It was ridiculous. His behavior came across as dismissive and insensitive and I definitely, definitely, definitely will not go back to him. I also would not recommend him to anyone looking for someone in his field of expertise. I got his name from a physical therapist my husband knows and I'm going to pass along my experience with Dr. Lins to that person so that she's aware of his less-than-desirable bedside manner and attitude towards patients. If you are looking for a personalized experience where you and your concerns are addressed in a compassionate or even an average way, I do not recommend you see Dr. Lins. I only had one visit with Dr.Lins. Very professional and he explained everything. The schedule is horrible. Six or more of us were all scheduled for 1:15 pm. I waited for an hour and saw the PA. It was very upsetting and I didn’t make another appointment
Dr Lins is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He is very caring and compassionate, and always willing to answer questions. We have recommended Dr Lins to friends and family.
Doctor Lins is wonderful at what he specializes in. I sensed his authenticity, and sums up the best option for each patient. I have been struggling with Arthritis in both hands for a while. 2 Cortisone treatments 2 weeks apart in my left hand, and I have more mobility!!! I have been a golfer throughout my life, and thought I would have to give it up. I have had to make adjustments with age. However I can hold a Golf Club, and play Golf again. I still can get hand pain which is expected, I can bend my fingers, and the swelling is gone. My condition has improved!!! Thank you Doctor Robert Lins
From the beginning everything was awesome. Surgery went great and everyone was again awesome.
I would leave 0 star if possible. Worst doctor I ever visited. I had back problem for about 3 years now, I went to him about 3 months ago with all x-ray's mri's, he even took spine x-ray at his office and charged me. First of all he doesn't care if I'm in pain waiting for him for an hour and thirty minutes (1 hour 30 mins in pain) then when he got to me he rushes me, cuts me off when im speaking, doesn't even answer my questions fully. For some reason he decided to tell me I had enlarged prostate (Urologist confirmed I do NOT) instead of telling me I have scoliosis, inflammation at the lower spine region, and one of the hip bone is smaller than the other. Funny enough a Chiropractor I visited today, first day at their place, they showed me everything in each x-ray and Mri. Imagine being me for a bit.. DO NOT go to this doctor. He is a waste of time and money.
I was very pleased with my experience at Dr Lins office. It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. Dr Lins performed nonsurgical treatment with Dupuytren’s contracture on my hand and my hand is back to its movability. I am truly greatful for dr Lins and his team fixing my hand and appreciated their follow up and answering questions. A big thank you to all of them. I recommend dr Lins.
Excellent doctor!!!!!
Dr. Lins has operated on my wrist (emergency surgery), right thumb, hand and elbow on three occasions. My injuries are all but a distant memory. I felt I was in the care of the best hand surgeon. He is clearly brilliant and caring. Dr. Lins sets a maximum the anesthesiologist can charge at the neighboring surgical center. It is very reasonable. I mangled my left wrist and the the E/R doctor just sewed up the wound to keep it from getting infected and directed me to a hand surgeon. Doctor Lins was able to restore 100% function with one surgical procedure. Having met with such positive results after the wrist surgery and physical therapy, I went back to Dr. Lins for right thumb trigger lock, right hand carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve (elbow) entrapment surgeries. I am so confident in Dr. Lins and so very appreciative of his empathy, that I have no anxiety at all about scheduling my soon-to-be final procedure. I feel so fortunate that Dr Lins participates in my NYC based insurance plan.
Dr. Lins is great about answering questions. When I asked what arthritis looks like, he pulled up my x-rays to show me. I find his demeanor upbeat and friendly. He takes his time, and doesn't make me feel rushed at all. Office staff have been very helpful in getting me the required documents for my employer's reimbursement program.
Terrific doctor. I’m glad he takes care of me.
A very caring physician.
My visit went very well, Dr. Lins is a great doctor who has a wonderful personality and a gentle way of taking care of you. I felt immediately at ease when I met him. He explained thoroughly my medical condition and the necessary treatment. I totally recommend him for your orthopedic needs.
Great doctor and staff, just hard to reach via phone!
The expertise of Dr. Lins was exceptional. Dr. Lins, is an exceptional doctor. Before surgery explained to me what I need to do after the surgery and the exercise needed, and how many times a day was needed. As to have mobility in my fingers without any delay that could result in stiffness and without mobility.
Dr. Lins is a great doctor ! He is very friendly, efficient, and very upfront with his suggestions on how to proceed with a treatment plan. He performed carpel tunnel surgery on me and did a great job. I would highly recommend Dr. Lins.
Dr. Lins is great. I fractured a vertebra a few years ago and he healed me through that. and just saw him for some recent back problems. He is both professional and friendly, and although all doctors are on a tight schedule, he doesn't rush you. The office tends to run late on appointments but not too much, and I think that's the norm these days.
Out surgery team and staff. Would recommend highly for your surgical needs
Dr. Lins just did a carpal tunnel release for my right hand. He's a fantastic doctor and very personable. The staff was great too. I would totally recommend and in fact, I'll be seing him in a few months for my other hand.
Excellent doctor. I been Dr Lins patient for many, many years (12). He did my neck surgery. Recently he did surgery on my hand. Everything went well the surgery. I highly recommend Dr Lins.
Absolutely yes
Excellent doctor. I would recommend dr Lins. My hand surgery was a success!!! Please don’t wait to long to schedule your consultation if you are suffering from hand pain. I was afraid to see any doctor but im happy I finally did, and I’m bless ingot to see Dr Lins. He is a sweetheart.
