Dr. Robert J Golden

Do NOT let Dr Golden perform any kind of surgery on you. He completely ruined my life and demonstrated a shocking lack of remorse. His staff laughed when I presented to his office in unbearable pain, extremely humiliated and literally scarred for life. No follow up care was provided.

My husband had a Vasectomy done, followed all the guidelines, and was told he was negative. Less than 5 months later we were pregnant. Now we have a baby and had a second procedure done at a different doctor. From what I hear, we aren’t the only ones this has happened to.

Retiring

My previous review that I submitted about a year ago has obviously been removed. I talked about the failed kidney donation surgery that doctor Golden performed for my husband and me. By some miracle I was a match for my husband who was on dialysis so I donated one of my kidneys. The surgery failed because the new kidney didn’t receive adequate blood supply... the blood vessel was kinked and the new kidney died. Another surgery was performed to straighten out the blood vessel but it didn’t work, the new kidney was already dead. So a THIRD surgery was performed to take out the dead kidney and this third surgery in a row caused my husband to have a heart attack and a blood clot that nearly ended his life. He was in ICU for a couple of intense weeks. And back to dialysis he went. I lost a kidney and having now had a heart attack, he was unqualified to ever have another transplant. We were further dismayed by the flippant attitude of Doctor Golden, taking no blame and making lightly if our tragedy for which I am still suffering, my husband having recently passed away. Two consults, one year apart - excellent service from staff and dr. Would highly recommend to others based on my experiences as his patient and my medical background.

Dr. Golden was very professional, yet made me feel "special". I'm sure my pain and suffering were not new to him, but were unique to me. Dr. Golden was amazing at helping me through the process before and after TURP surgery. He will always remain one the most compassionate Drs. I have been served by. His staff was equally as professional and caring. Boy, did I get the best or what? Thanks all. MORE than 5 stars.

The receptionist was extremely rude and of no help over the phone....wont be using this doctor

I had a procedure with Dr. Golden over a year ago and paid my estimated bill before the procedure (March 2017), as well as an additional amount after the claim processed (May 2017). Today I get a call stating that I owe additional money. Hanna, the person who called me, got nasty when I asked why I was getting a bill over a year later (July 2018). Her exact words were, "If you don't like it I can send you to collections." She was a delight. Dr. Golden wasn't really friendly either, but he did a fine job in the OR, which is the important part. I don't think there are that many urologists in Spokane County, so I'm sure my review won't affect their business, but I can do my part to lower their office's rating on Google. Bottom line: If your practice's billing is so behind that they're taking a year to process insurance claims and follow up on small balances, maybe you should just write off the remaining $50 and not be a jerk to your patients. The office was nice and the wait was not too long. However I felt the doctor was condescending and arrogant. He did not handle the situation in a compassionate or caring way.

Hanna at the front desk was a beautiful super star. Made the pre procedure comforting. Dr. Golden was funny and a solid professional. The whole thing was done before I even thought we were started. High recommend! #vasectomy

Dr. Golden was extremely helpful and kind. He walked me through my Kidney stone treatment and was always quick to get me where I needed to go. He also preformed my surgery and did an excellent job. I highly recommend Dr. Golden.

I have treated with Dr. Golden for the past eight years for a chronic UTI associated with a bladder sling. The surgery for the bladder sling was performed by a local and incompetent Urologist. I have found Dr. Golden kind, understanding, and very knowledgeable. His office staff is, without exception, courteous and caring. I would, without hesitation, recommend Dr. Golden and his staff for any urological problem.

Dr. Golden is too hard to see and I won't be back. I had to reschedule due to a late insurance authorization form. It took one month to reschedule a FRIGGIN 15 MINUTE APPOINTMENT. I tried to pay full cash out of pocket and keep the original appointment and that was "Against the rules" because I had insurance. I want to be in charge of my own healthcare and feel like I was bossed around by the system and a Dr. who apparently has too many clients or doesn't work very much.

Dr Golden and staff are very professional, caring people. My appointments were always on time and no waiting while going through my treatments. They were always very thorough in explaining procedures and processes.

Easy and painless vasectomy. Dr. Golden and his staff communicate well and make it a comfortable experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Golden for over 10 years. He is consistently competent, caring, and thorough. I have complete confidence in him.

Dr. Golden is funny guy, said the procedure takes 20 minuets but only took him 10. I didn’t feel a thing honestly, and on top of that he made sure to keep my nerves cool by talking to me. The paperwork didn’t really match up to what I should expect, but then again...I’m on the 5th post surgery day and the swelling just went down. Still have minor swelling and bruising but I figured that’s normal. Hands down best urologist in Spokane. And he looks like Henry Winkler lol. Dr. Golden helped me with kidney stones. Dr. Golden explained everything and was very fast with seeing me. Excellent bed side manner . I would definately recommend to friends and family.

Articulate, relaxed atmosphere but professional, direct and to the point in direction along with exacting probabilities of outcome. Explanation specific in cause and treatment. Highly recommended Doctor and individual.

Was very happy with the way Dr. golden went over my problem and listened to my fears about the gall stone removal. His time with me in the hospital before the removal of stone was excellent and done away with my fears. The removal of the stone went as he said it would and I am feeling so much better since that time.. Excellent Dr. and I would recommend him to any one needing an urologist.

Dr. Golden is one of the few physicians I can recommend without reservation. I have been a patient for over 10 years. He is competent, caring, and takes all the time needed. I wish I could say that I can review Doctor Golden....However, I never made it past his staff. I was scheduled for a 10:30 Appt. today. Their office is near the hospital and I got lost looking for his office. The info desk at the hospital called his office to let them know I would be running a few minutes late. I arrived at 10:40. I have 2 brain injuries and have seriously mobility issues which was compounded by a recent snow & ice storms. No compassion from staff, cold and heartless. Dr Golden went far out of his way to help me and make sure that my bill would be more than manageable for the procedure that was done. He seemed very knowledgeable, which resulted in a positive outcome. I thank this experienced doctor for his expertise and results based treatment. And his staff seemed just like stereotypical medical staff, nothing out of the ordinary. I would not hesitate to return to this doctor. Dr. Golden was very professional and explained the problem and the surgery very well.

This was my first (hopefully last) experience with kidney stones. The pain was worse than anything I had ever experienced. It started with a trip to the ER, followed by a primary care doctor visit three days later. I was so sick and wasn't getting any help or answers. Finally, I had an appointment with Dr. Golden. Within 5 minutes, Dr. Golden explained everything and scheduled lithotripsy for the following day. The lithotripsy was successful. Within a couple of days I was feeling better.

Great Office, very friendly. Was recommended to me by a friend. Very knowledgeable and competent. Takes plenty of time to answer my questions.

My brother and I have been patients of Dr. Golden, who is truly a professional in every meaning of the word. He and his office staff exhibit a positive and a genuine interest in our concerns and needs. Robert is forthright in discussing our issues and what we need to do. I personally recommend Dr. Robert Golden with the highest degree of confidence to all my friends and associates.

I recently had laser treatment for a kidney stone lodged in my ureter. This was a day patient procedure under general anesthesia. The results: No more pain! Dr. Golden's skills as a medical professional are excellent. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of his services. The staff was most helpful and professional as well.

I have been seeing Dr. Golden for several years since first having difficulties with enlarged prostrate. I have always had the utmost respect on his handling my urinary difficulties. He looks directly into your eyes when talking to you as if to ensure you understand what you are saying and that you understand him fully. He is kind, compassionate and has an excellent bedside manner. I unequivocally would recommend him to the best of my friends and family.

I did some research on doctors before I decided on this doctor. He was in my network and he was the best priced. I did some research on the procedure before hand to see what to expect and how it would affect me. I had 2 appointments with this doctor. The first appointment was a general Q&A about a vasectomy. I really didn't have many questions and all the questions I did have were answered quickly. My second appointment was to have the procedure done. Everything seemed normal enough. The doctor put on a local anesthetic on the left side and said the only pain I should feel is the needle. OH BOY WAS HE WRONG. I felt the incision from the scalpel and I felt him snip the Vas. At this point it felt like I had been kicked and I felt like I was going throw up. I didn't think that's how it was supposed to feel but you don't yell OWW when the doctor has sharp instruments down there. The doctor then sewed me up and I didn't feel the needle this time. The doctor then moved to the right side where I felt the needle and the scalpel but I didn't feel the snip of the Vas. The problem this time is the doctor was shaking. I don't know about you but someone shaking with sharp instruments around my junk is not a good sign. Once he finished he said it should bleed for a little bit and gave me some Viccodin 10's. I am a big guy so I had to take 2 Viccodin 10's each time the pain came back. Needless to say they didnt last more then a few days. I was swollen for longer than what everyone else I had talk to said they were. I understand that everyone is different but everything online said that it had been too long. I called the doctor and the doctor said it was normal. The paperwork they gave me was contradicting to what the doctor and nurse said. The paper said no sex for 2 weeks, but the doctor and nurse said as soon as I feel up to it just to be careful. The paper said no showers for 3 days, but the doctor said I could shower soon as I got home. The doctor said to provide a specimen after 15 ejaculations, the paper said 20 ejaculations. Once I took my specimen in the nurse said the doctor will call you today with the results. I waited a day and a half. I finally called them about 2 pm the next day after dropping off a specimen and the nurse said oh they will call you here shortly. Nearly 2 hours later I called back and said that I have been waiting for a call but I have yet to receive a call. The lady took my name and as she was going to put me on hold I hear someone yell from the background that it was negative. That is just very unprofessional first that I have to call that many times and second that you can hear someone talking about my personal life and then you yell the results. Needless to say I will not be referring anyone to this doctor. I would suggest spending a couple hundred more and going to a different doctor. My husband & I highly recommend Dr. Golden. From Stephanie at the front desk (who is extremely friendly & put us right at ease) to meeting Dr. Golden & his medical assistant Hannah, it was the best medical/doctor experience that we have had in many years! We did meet with Jana in the billing office, who helped us through the maze of insurance forms & answered all our questions with a smile. Thank you to the entire staff, and especially Dr. Golden, for your kindness, and medical expertise.

Dr. Golden's training and years of experience in the specialty of urology give me a great deal of confidence in his clinical advice, examinations and treatment. That said, what I appreciate as much as his knowledge and skills is the genuine kindness, compassion and humility he shows towards his patients. In 2009, Dr. Golden performed a life-saving kidney transplant that restored my health and energy. For that and the follow-up care he has provided, I will always be grateful.

I had great customer service from Dr. Golden, at times receiving phone calls from him checking on my status post-surgery. His common-sense approach to medicine and patient care was very reassuring and welcome.

he treated myself and my family like we did not know anything, when trying to address medication problems like giving me medication I am not to have so according to them I am a drug seeker. Watch not to make this clown angry he will try to rune your life,
