Dr. Gates is kind, compassionate, and attentive. God used his care and skill to save the life of our daughter twice. We are so grateful he was her doctor!!

This time last year, our son was diagnosed with a rare lung condition, AVM. Dr. Gates was kind, compassionate and caring as he took time to talk with us as individuals. We felt the presence of the Lord when we met him and we knew that God had ordained for him to be the one to 'fix' our son Garrett. We were informed that Garrett would most likely stay 8-10 days in the hospital but most likely it could be closer to 8 and we were devastated as the surgery date was Dec. 20th. Our son informed everyone that he would be home in 3 days, he was prayed up and that God was going to heal him. Dr. Gates did not doubt our sons faith and he was touched by my sons confidence in God and he prayed with us. Garrett was able to go home 3 days after surgery as he had told us it would be and I think this 12 year old boy showed a lot of people what real faith looks like, including his parents. Dr. Gates was so excited after surgery but he was not surprised at how quickly Garrett was able to go home. It was the best Christmas ever and we are forever grateful for the role that Dr. Gates played in this miracle. Garrett was able to play baseball in the spring, football workouts all summer and is currently playing WR for his 8th grade team at Mcracken Middle School in Spartanburg. Thank you Dr. Gates for being his hands and feet and doing the Lords work, God bless.. The Sontags.

Dr. Gates was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable, caring, and considerate surgeon to perform the emergency surgery our son needed.

He saved our son's life in an emergency. One of the most kind, informative, caring, concerned doctors we have ever meet. We are grateful for his skills, knowledge and professionalism.

I LOVE Dr. Gates! He is a wonderful man who not only treats my special needs son with respect but VALUES my opinion as the mom and primary care giver! He makes parents part of the treatment team by validating any concern, explaining any question and most importantly treats your child as if he/she were his own! He has preformed surgery twice on my son,both times in emergent situations under extreme medical circumstances. I knew my son was in the upper most capable of hands!

WE ARE A BRAND NEW PATIENT & WERE SEEN YESTERDAY; WILL REVIEW AGAIN AT LATER DATE. HE SEEMS TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE & HAS A GREAT DEMEANOR WITH CHILDREN. HE ALSO APOLOGIZED FOR THE WAIT; WAS WORKING WITH A NURSE SUB.
