Dr. Robert J. Futoran

I was recommended by Sunrise Hospital to go to this doctor. Because I have Firoids and was hospitalized for blood lost at a 6.1. He insisted that I have an hysterectomy. I explained to him that I would rather have an removal of my Firoids not a hysterectomy. I feel like I was turned away with no help. But for him to have his Resident Dr. Write on a business card for me to go to Unlv Dr. Which I had already explained that I don't feel comfortable somewhere where they practice medicine while going through school. I would rather have an professional. I feel like he didn't care for me nor my needs. I was turned away without a recommendation, nor a valid referral. Somebody should look into this. I just wanna know why he couldn't help me. Was it because I'm black women who received Molina

Worst experience of my life! I went in with a mass on my pelvis and ended up with full hysterectomy plus some. Come to find out after my surgery I hear the nurses call him the butcher. Complications shortly after surgery. Futoran left his team to tend to me which only ended up leaving me in worse condition with horrible scars since one of them took my staples out too early which resulted in me bleeding out and wound vac being used to close my stomach. Stay away!

I met Dr. Futoran in last week of March 2000. He did surgery on April 6, 2000. Five surgeries at once, It saved my life. I was 47 years old. I am now 70. I thank God for directing me to this surgeon. I had ovarian cancer. Had spread all over . He sent me to chemo. God is good, Dr. Futoran is great and his staff were so helpful and kind.

Dr Futoran did my complete hysterectomy and I am so grateful for him and his gift. He is 85 years old and still wants to see medicine change for the better. So he will most likely have to die to stop working. He cares so much about what he is doing and he loves helping. He gives you his personal cell phone number (which I had to use about 3 times post op) and he answers or responds within 30 min 1 hour. He giggles a lot and there are reviews on here that people are offended by that. I actually LOVE that. He was so lighthearted and giggly in the hospital before surgery and it made me feel so good. He’s just the sweetest! His office staff are difficult at times and Ivana was actually super discouraging to work with. She dropped the ball multiple times with my surgeries but it is hard to find and keep a good staff. So i dont look too far into that. Dr Futoran is worth it!! He is a gift for sure <3

Dr Robert Futoran treated me, in 1974, at Cedar/Sinai Hospital, and he saved my life…..I had Cervical Cancer, and he found it, and I’m still here. I am forever thankful.

This Dr and his team saved my life they were amazing I am very thankful to they took my case and could have not had a better team to care for me. I was diagnosed with a huge mass on my ovary that needed to be out ASAP was flown here from Blythe ca. And got THE BEST CARE ever!!!!!

Dr Futoran was my mother's Cancer surgeon, he is an EXCELLENT DOCTOR! Saved my mother's live as far as I am concerned. You couldn't be in better hands.

I'm so glad I was referred to Dr Futoran. He was very knowledgeable, compassionate, and made me feel I was in good hands. He took the time to explain everything to me. He answered all my questions. He also included my husband in the consultation. We were very nervous going into the appointment but when we left we felt like we were in good hands. The office staff was very kind also. Dr. "Lets just take the whole thing out" - has a heavy reputation for a preference of just yanking stuff out even if part of the system is working. My experience: fibroid on ONE ovary and his professional opinion was a FULL hysterectomy. Guess you don't get paid as much for doing one ovary as opposed to a full hysterectomy. One of the BEST surgeons hands down!! Very personable , and that's very important to me. My surgery was a success with no pains or complications, none whatsoever!! One hour after surgery I was walking. I did about ten laps feeling awesome!! You couldn't tell that I had surgery unless you looked at my tummy! Very pleasant man. Reassuring. Made me feel at ease. All staff at office, very pleasant, friendly.

After being refused surgery for a year in California, i came home to Vegas. It took less than 2 months to get to dr Futoran. He agreed i needed the surgery at my first visit. I literally got my surgery the VERY next day. It was the easiest surgery I’ve ever been thru! He has an awesome bedside manor and he even confirmed a belief I’ve had for most of my life. I am finally out of pain and daily bleeding has ended. I recommend this dr to ANYONE having issues! Im a very large woman but he had no qualms about doing the procedure. He is confident but does NOT talk down to you.

All employees in that facility lack empathy! Dealing with a life threatening disease isn’t easy, they should be mindful of how they treat their pairings! Seems like surgery or “let’s get everything out” is his favorite phrase. Not to mention “Ivana”, who is by far, the nastiest person I have met! Her attitude is out of this world. This office just doesn’t care. Save yourself a headache and take yourself to a different physician who cares and has caring staff members. Seriously.

I was sent to Dr. Futoran's office for a 2nd opinion on my biopsy results. I had no choice in my referral because I was on Medicaid after losing my job. I have now had a total of three (3) separate visits/encounters with Dr. Futoran and one with his resident, Dr. Hom. All have left me with an unpleasant taste in my mouth. 1) Initial visit. He LAUGHED when I asked if there were other options besides hysterectomy. I was as crystal clear as I could be that if at all possible, I wanted desperately to keep my ovaries and not be thrust into menopause at only 46. He assured me that it would only be a Possible oophorectomy. When he brought me into exam room and started discussing surgery. I told him that during my last fibroid surgery they had tried unsuccessfully laparoscopically and ended up having to go through my abdomen and that I wanted to avoid additional excess keloidal scarring from both again. He looked at his resident and asked "Why couldn't they do it laparoscopically?" She gave a blank stare. He responded chuckling "Because They couldn't do it." RESIDENT DR HOM In hospital after surgery, she came in and told me removed Everything. When she said ovaries, I broke down sobbing (which was extremely painful) asking why, what did they find? She said nothing that it was just a precaution and then she callously said " Well you were going to go through menopause in another 2 or years anyway". First of all she had no way at all of knowing that for certain. And even if she did, it was another 2 to 3 YEARS.!!! She made it sound like only months. But, at least She didn't laugh at me. 2) DR FUTORAN in the hospital when he was making rounds after Dr Hom had already told me, I told Dr Futoran that if he knew he was just going to take everything "as a precaution", then he should have told me that initially and set the right expectations. Said that I was mad at him and devastated to be going through menopause. He offered no apology, sympathy, nothing. He just laughed and said you can be mad. During his visit, the nurses reported my belly sounds as hypotensive. He LAUGHED and corrected them saying it's either absent, or normal. When he left the room, the nurses said he's a wonderful doctor, but he should never have said that bc that's a diagnosis, which is outside their scope of practice. To me, regardless even if he felt that way he shouldn't have said it in my presence. That it undermined the nursing staff. 3) Post op visit. When I asked why it hurt so much more after getting home, he again LAUGHED and said bc you're moving more at home. I don't know if it was because of my sex, race, Medicaid status or because he's just another arrogant, cocky surgeon with a God complex who can't be bothered with the actual concerns, fears, feelings of the mere mortals on whom he operates, but I THINK DR FUTORAN IS CONDESCENDING AND DISMISSIVE AND THAT HE GETS OFF ON EMBARRASSING PEOPLE ALL UNDER THE GUISE OF TEACHING/MENTORING Of course it's already scary enough being referred to an Oncologist. A very caring and compassionate Dr. I highly recommend him.

I would highly recommend Dr. Futoran. His office scheduled me an appt within 3 days of my calling for one, and when I arrived the staff was very nice and was able to get me in to see the doctor within 10 minutes of my arrival. It was a very pleasant experience.

He missed my mothers cancer on an ultrasound and sent her to a GI specialist. She then came to California (only one month later!) and was complaining of abdominal pain and I took her to the ER. The ER doctor found a mass. She died 9 months later. IF the doctor had caught it and not dismissed my mothers pain for a GI issue then he could have treated it before it was stage 4 and untreatable.

He gets right to the point, but makes sure your questions are answered. Knowledgeable and caring with excellent bedside manner. Beautiful surgical precision! So thankful to have been referred to him.

Worst Medical service by a "doctor." My mom went in for PET scan results (cancer) and 20 seconds in the examination room was told she had a tumor the size of two hands put together to become a circle and can operate on my mom but would have to take her bladder out then walked out. Left with questions, I ask him exactly what was on the scan results and not wanting he open the file and explain a bit more that what he said. I asked about the operation he told me about and said he was not going to do it and that my mother had 6 months to live. There is plenty more where this came from. Experienced, confident, straight forward, and personable, not just in the office, but in surgery as well. We're lucky to have him.

He's a very direct no nonsense kind of doctor. When he diagnosed me he didn't hold back. He answered my questions truthfully & said we needed to move quickly. We did and I'm alive and feel great.

I had to have an emergency full hysterectomy due to a large fibroid tumor. Dr Futoran explained everything, answered my questions, and immediately gave me the feeling that I was in safe hands. The procedure went smoothly and I could not ask for more capable, compassionate care. I highly recommend this doctor, not only for his expertise but for his obvious concern for patients as individuals. I had surgery five days ago with Dr. Futoran. He is the kindest and most professional Doctor I have even seen in my 57 years. He made me feel safe and with his expertise the surgery went excellent. Please if your looking for a doctors office that answers there phone and provides incredible care do see Dr. Futoran he is a skilled and qualified surgeon.

He is the worst dr I ever seen. He told me I have fibroid which I didn't have. I had a serious ovaries cyst which I needed a treat,he said I have nothing to do. I ended up went to ER because I got worse pain by this. I wish I've been somewhere else not this place .
