Dr. Robert Carroll Frere

It was unfortunate I didn’t have a clear understanding why the office insisted a “ family member” must be at the appointment with my mom, which I could not as I live 11.5 hours away, so I had made arrangements with the office staff to join the appointment by phone so I could help provide my moms medical history. This resulted in my mom showing up to appointment alone and the office canceling the appointment on the spot. ( not allowing her to see Dr Frere.) They finally told me the Real reason they wanted a “ family member” there and admitted it didn’t actually need to be a family member ( it could be a friend, staff from cypress glen ( a warm body) - it just needed to be someone to assist her (The office did not have the staff to manage patient navigation within their office) and assure she didn’t fall as well as to be the person to contact me during the visit ( ie: manage the line of communication between myself and Dr Frere as they informed me Dr Frere would not be able to call me or access telemedicine video from exam room. ) I would have appreciated transparency up front and my moms care would not have been delayed

We are very impressed with Dr Frere and all of his assistant medical help. He has taken care of my husband who has PLS, Alzheimer and Dementia.

My husband was experiencing excessive pressure in his head and, after an MRI showed he was not having another stroke, (he had one in 2012), we made an appointment with Dr Frere. I read the reviews and was somewhat apprehensive. What a wonderful surprise! Dr. Frere isn’t a funny guy or even a personal one but he is very thorough and kind. He never made my husband feel foolish nor did he suggest we didn’t have a problem. He made reasonable and intelligent suggestions of what we could do to solve the pressure problem since it didn’t appear he could help. He completely examined my husband and asked all kinds of questions. He was gentle and thoughtful with my husband’s disabilities. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Frere to anyone in need of a neurologist.

I had a better response from a stray dog!

Don't expect eye contact, a handshake, or any other normal courtesy. He is kurt and dry and did not appreciate us asking any questions. When we would ask for further clarification of the condition and test results he responded with "I don't know what else you want me to say" or "I don't know what you don't get." We were hopeful going in and left more confused than before. We were pretty gob smacked but had been warned he didn't have bedside manor. It was just a lot worse than we expected.

AMAZING DOCTOR...VERY GOOD VISIT RARE TO FIND A DOCTOR WHO TAKES SERIOUS TIME AND INTEREST IN YOU WHEN YOUR CONDITION IS RARE AND TREATMENTS ARE LIMITED. IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE I HAVE HAD SUCH A THROUGH EXAM AND CONSULTATION COMPLETE WITH USEFUL REFERRALS.

What a jerk! Rude, disrespectful. Not at all caring. When asked why he got into neurology (just in conversation one visit) he said, "For the money!" and it certainly shows. I have seen more compassion in a rock. Waited over 3 hours the first visit and then he complained because we were there, even though his nurse recommended that we see him. Waited over 2 hours today and just walked out. While he seems competent in his field, he has no business seeing patients because he just doesn't care.
