I had a serious fall that broke my tiabia and I ended up at Harborview, I had to have surgery and it was performed by Dr Dubar, I wasnt able to meet Dr Dunbar until my 8 week follow up , and during my appointment he explained everything about the surgery he went through the xrays and took time to answer all my questions, the care he did that day I went in for emergency surgery was excellent, my leg and healing is doing better then I could hope. Dr. Dunbar operated on my a few times in the military. He saved my right lower leg when Norfolk General wanted to cut it off. Reading his bio and him talking about patients being involved in their care is spot on. I spent 30 days in the hospital with him. Every morning he came to see me and talked to me like a colleague only in Lehmann’s terms. Other doctors prior to him looked at other doctors for answers. Dr. Dunbar was the man with all the answers. He just understands what he is doing. Can literally write the book on it. If I knew his address I would be sending him Christmas cards. He is many steps above the rest. Does not care about his patients, Somewhat ignorant and delusional about reality

Dr Dunbar did a nailing for a fracture of my femur. Despite healing well, I had severe pain on the side of my knee with every step. At 6 months I returned to see him and told him about my pain. He turned away from me and yelled at his resident that in all his years of doing surgery, he had never had such a complaint. With great reluctance he agreed to remove the screw above my knee. I have never experienced such inappropriate and rude treatment from a doctor. Less than a week after this appointment, the screw was removed and I had immediate relief. Altho he may be a very good surgeon, his patient communication skills are sadly lacking and I hope I never have to see him again.
