About Robert Merrill Cope
Reviews for Robert Merrill Cope
I’ve been going to Dr Cope for over 15 years. He has awesome bed side manners and is very caring. He has treated my kidney problems with great care. He is an incredible doctor.
My hubs and I went to see Dr Cope and we were both impressed with the office and Dr Cope as a dr. He knew what the issue was and was very detailed in our options and what he would start on first. We both liked his personality and he knows what he is doing. Win Win for us
I have a lengthy 3 page grievance letter detailing how horrible Dr. Cope is. Had two surgeries with Dr. Cope and still had issues. Was ignored and neglected by Dr. Cope when I began having complications from surgeries he performed. After spending thousands of dollars in medical bills the only thing I got was a, "Sorry, we can try surgery again." Ended up going to Dr. Ellsworth and after one surgery was completely healed. Fantastic bedside manner and very knowledgeable. I've seen at least 4 urologists and none of them have been able to get my hormones regulated. Dr Cope got everything under control within a month! I will definitely recommend him and be seeing him for any issues in the future.
I'd rate him as ZERO stars if I could. Had Rezum procedure by Dr. Robert Cope - the only TWO MINUTES I ever saw him (EVERY visit I saw his PA). I was conscious at the time, but with multiple medications. This was without doubt the most painful two or three minutes of MY ENTIRE LIFE. Nothing else comes close. The worst thing was, after initial improvement, about four months later ALL my symptoms came back. Due to my extraordinarily poor experience with Dr. Cope, I chose to go to a completely different practice (Dr. Thomas Brinton). I saw Dr. Brinton for every appointment. Dr. Brinton performed PVP surgery under general anesthesia. Now, four months later, all my BPH problems are gone. I DO NOT recommend Dr. Cope, as I felt like a package being worked on. It was outrageous that I never saw him to talk to, good as his PA is. Dr. Brinton, on the other hand, is personable, young, enthusiastic, and gave me tremendous confidence that his procedure would do the trick. I'd rate him as ZERO stars if I could. very knowledgeable and understanding my complex problems. PA Dennis Mitchell also. Thanks Susan Borsky
Made an appointment 3 weeks ago. My 6 year old son has back flow into his kidneys and is retaining in his bladder . Collecting bacteria. He is constantly sick. They say yes we take your insurance. Then today 4 days before the appointment they say we dont take your insurance and you have to pay $150 cash. To late to get an appointment with a new doctor. No offer for payment plan. So they dont do their duegilagence and my son has to suffer because I'm not prepared to pay 150$ when my copays is $30. Awful customer care. They should be ashamed.

I was told I'd be on dialysis at the emergency room in Mesquite. I went to Dr. Cope for a second opinion. I was admitted into the hospital in St. George Utah, and had Dr. Cope do the lithotripsy procedure, I got to go home with no kidney problems! He and the people on staff were amazing. I love being healthy, not on pills or dialysis treatments that keep you on tether forever. Thank you Dr. Cope.
Recently I have been treated by Dr. Cope for multiple kidney stones. Dr Cope was professional and friendly. I had 2 treatments and am returning for more this coming year for removal of more of the stones. Very happy that I went to him.

He called by phone, three days after he had received the results of my biopsy. It was at closing time on a Friday. He left a message with my wife: "Tell your husband he has cancer. Have him call next week to make an appointment to talk about it." He had my cell number. I was available and anxiously waiting to hear from him. I felt that in the situation I was in, I needed a physician with some compassion, and personal interest in what I would be going through. I found a different doctor.
Never helped out just wanted money and put you threw surgerys you never need

Dr. Cope is not available. I had a major surgery to do a bilateral varicocelectomy. It became infected and swollen and finally after 3 1/2 months, and a lot of different prescriptions, they figured out it was a bilateral hydrocele. I decided to do the required surgery. Dr Cope did the surgery and a few days later I was having more issues. After ER and wound clinic visits Dr Cope would not even see me himself. I still have a hydrocele on the right testicle, but will not be going to him to fix it.
Dr Cope performed hernia surgery on me. He is competent and caring and did an excellent job. He was great at explaing the procedure and the healing process. He carefully explained what I needed to do for the weeks following surgery and set an appointment for follow up. Dr Cope looks after me for prostate cancer as well. I trust him compltely.
Dr. Cope is extremely personable and knowledgeable. I didn't expect to have issues in this area of my body so soon in life, but he's put me at ease and given me the needed medication to control things. I appreciate most especially his kindness and understanding. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a urologist. He has also worked with my wife, and for her to feel comfortable with a male urologist is saying a lot!

I would and have recommended Dr. Cope already to people I know , I am super shy about letting anyone in my pants it took me a number of years to even ask about what I had done, he and his staff made me feel very comfortable and relaxed while I was under there care ,worked with me on payment the hole experience was very pleasant and professional.
It was awful he never help out at all just wanted to do surgery right away and as it came about never needed surgery all he could say was nothing or come back in a month want back to him 10 times in 5 months
