Dr. Robert B Bourne

He worked me into his schedule due to a sudden, painful and potentially dangerous problem. He made sure my MRI was quickly approved, scheduled and interpreted. I was seen by a surgeon the next day and surgery quickly scheduled.

Dr. Bourne was fantastic. He doesn't make you feel pressured for surgery, and he is very personable and intelligent. I like knowing that he has my best interests in mind when he treats and diagnoses me.

Dr. Bourne did a thorough PE of my knee and reviewed my MRI with me. He told me the treatment I would need is surgical scope to repair medial meniscus; however, he does not do this procedure, so I need to return to see another doctor who does said procedure. I do wish there was some way I could have known this, and I would have chosen a doctor who does knee scopes. Hopefully by doing a review, another person with torn tendon on MRI will have the knowledge that Dr. Bourne does not do knee scopes for tendon repair.

Dr Bourne and his team respond in a timely fashion and are very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the follow up calls and scheduling to get my shoulder problems addressed.

I was able to get in and out of Dr. Bourne's appointment in under a half hour. Dr Bourne was knowledgeable and no nonsense. He was able to correctly diagnose my condition give me advice on how to remedy my problem and give me treatment all in the same appointment.

I needed to get in to have my knee looked at, and saw Dr. Bourne. He had such a great attitude and he seemed to truly care about you. He doesn't waste time on what you don't need. I have been under Dr. B’s care for several years and have found him very interested and caring in my problem. He always listens to my concerns and comes up with a plan of action.

My husband left at 6 this morning to get to his appointment, and they cancelled his him while he was on his way. That's incredibly unprofessional and it shows a complete lack of respect for other's lives. You could have at least called the night before or found a way to resolve this. He had to have been close to your first appointment.

Just got cancelled on a appointment, scheduled 2 weeks ago, while I was driving to the appointment for my PT. We all are busy people and you guys have no right to waste anybody's time. If you are understaffed, do not add more people. If you are a new patient, dont go there!

Dr. Bourne was very thorough and listened very well to my concerns. He worked with me to my satisfaction on a treatment that we felt would be effective. He also was very good on a follow up plan to ensure we had made progress, but then didn't plan any unnecessary appointments when we had cured the problem.

I have been in pain for years plus not felt good for two years and really needed a doctor who would spend some time and look outside the box for solutions. Did I get that no but no surprise just so disappointing. Why do we keep getting worse it is almost 83% in my case due to the health care system and doctors. So on I go in search of that hope that I will find that doctor who will help me before it is too late.

Dr. Robert Bourne, MD was very good. He took time to talk to me and explain my options. He gave me a steroid shot and gave me a numbing shot prior to the shot which alleviated most of the pain. I would recommend him.

I went in to see Dr. Bourne for a chronic pain in my hip. After doing a few motion tests, he let me know he thought I had a labral tear in my hip. Sure enough, the results came back and it was just that. He was very friendly and helpful in answering questions and I'd highly recommend him!

I saw Dr Bourne for preliminary treatment of what ended up being a tornado ACL. He was very compassionate, his office had appointments available within two days, and he got me right in for an MRI. He isn't a surgeon, but he referred me right away other a surgeon after the testing. Great service and a wonderful staff.

Listens intently to your explanations of your symptoms. Makes suggestions of possible remedies, but doesn’t try to force anything. Definitely is not a pill pusher. One of the most down to earth doctors I have ever had. Takes the time to listen to you. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!

I came into Dr Bourne's clinic with knee problems. He diagnosed those knee problems correctly and prescribed physical therapy that was effective. Dr Bourne's non invasive approach to my knee problems was the most efficient and least invasive approach possible. I would recommend Dr Bourne to anyone else with any orthopedic concerns.

I have been Dr. Bourne's patient for several years and have ALWAYS found him to be caring and sensitive to my needs. He is willing to listen and considers my feelings. Never wanting to let anything slip by in his diagnosis, he asks for the proper tests and quickly evaluates the results and prescribes accordingly. If x-rays are taken, I am shown the x-rays and he explains what we are seeing. He seems willing to take whatever time is necessary for me to get the help I need from each visit.

Dr. Bourne is always willing to discuss options for treatment and allows me to ask questions about the problem/and the limitations each treatment might bring about. He offers choices that suit a patients life style along with his professional guidance as to what may be the least invasive yet best option for success. I went to Dr. Bourne because I could not lift my left arm. He sent me to therapy and checked my progress in three weeks. Since I was not making much progress, he gave me a cortisone shot in my shoulder and prescribed continued therapy. My ability to move my shoulder and arm has improved rapidly. I am very pleased that I am able to return to normal activities without pain. Dr. Bourne is an excellent doctor, and I would gladly recommend him to anyone in need of superior orthopedic care.

I found Dr. Bourne to be an excellent physician. He answered all of my questions before I even asked them. I worried so much about the procedure and should not have because it was very simple and he and his nurse made me feel so relaxed. I could not have had a better outcome. Dr. Bourne does an excellent job of explaining all the ins and outs of my condition and what my options are. I've been to him three times and each time he gives me the pros and cons of each procedure available to me. He makes me feel confident in trusting his advice. I have no need to seek another opinion.

Worst experience ever! He was so in a hurry to move on he didn't even listen to me. The first priority should be the patient. With Dr. Bourne his first priority seems to be his own time and money. He took NO time with me and even though I was at an "8" in pain he offered nothing for relief and told me my insurance probably would not even pay for an MRI so I should go home and be in pain till he found out. All about the MONEY. Stay away from this clinic. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Very disappointed with the care I received. He did not listen to me and didn’t seem to care about me as a patient, which is surprising for St Marks. What ever happened to quality care? I do not recommend going to him.

Worst experience I have ever had one star is being kind

Dr Bourne was nice but was in a hurry to move on. Even though I had pain at a "10" he didn't suggest anything for immediate pain relief but just suggested to schedule a visit for a specialized device to be made and come back in a month. What? I'm here now because I'm in pain now.

I just moved here from out of state and my mothers friend recommended me to him. He's a arrogant man who did not even take the time to read my medical file from my out of state Doctor. He accused me of Doctor shopping as if I was some drug addict off of the street! He didn't even know me! He haven't even taken the time to call my doctor! I mean really Utahans drug epidemic is my fault? Or I'm to suffer because I just moved here? he needs a lesson in humanity and treating the patient!

Maybe the doctor should listen to patients that have other underlying issues or medical histories that could complicate the current issue or be cause to the problem at hand. To hear the word 'smoking' come out of his mouth every other word as to the reason I have come to see him in the first place is almost ridiculous!!!!! So if a 'non-smoker' comes in and he/she is presenting the same issues where does he go from there? Are they going to get the same treatment as a 'smoker' or better because they do not? I can see as a health care provider saying something to either help the person if they want to quit or give them information they might not have been given before. So if 'smoking' is the cause of my injury then why did I break my arm when I was 10? I did not smoke then. He might also want to discuss his other patients insurance or lack there of ' Obama Care' other than in front of another patients door. So if my sins have a scent and it smells like cigarettes I wonder if he would smell like a rose?
