Dr. Robert Bernard

Absolutely disgusting staff. I will NEVER go here. I called to inquire about becoming a new patient. I was told over the phone they don’t take my insurance even though the insurance company is the one who put the DR as my PCP. No problem, I continued to ask why they would be listed if they don’t take it and was put on speakerphone for the whole office to hear the conversation. I asked to be taken off of speaker phone and got the response of “WE AREN’T ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS. CLICK” and was hung up on. Called back to speak with the office manager and gave a complaint which I know will not be taken seriously. The reception staff is absolutely horrible and unprofessional. That alone will make me think twice before even mentioning this practice to potential patients. SHAME ON YOU.

I currently have a lot of doctors and Dr. Bernard is the only one I really trust. Some of my doctors are arrogant and others put on a nice show while putting me through pointless tests. Dr. B gets right to it and he always explains his reasoning for how he’s treating you. I find the wait times in his office to be reasonable, however should you encounter a wait think of it like this. Maybe he didn’t overbook, maybe a few patients before required more time and attention than he planned for, but when it’s your turn you can expect the same. So when you’re in there and you feel comfortable asking him all of your questions and he patiently answers all of them it will be okay if your holding things up a bit because this is people’s health. I personally don’t mind waiting.

Doctor Bernard completely dropped the ball on his patient when she was admitted to the hospital for Covid. Over a week elapsed and he claimed that he was going to call the family back. Bernard Never checked in on his patient despite patients family asking for him to do his job. *I have never heard of such a lack of professionalism and abandonment from a medical professional. Run away don’t walk into this mans practice.

Everything he says and does works for me...He's actually very caring but he's by himself. He needs another doctor or nurse practitioner...going to him for 20 plus years...

I have been a patient of Dr. Bernard for over 30 years. He is very thorough in diagnosing your illness and listens to your concerns. I would highly recommend him.

HORRIBLE! Not only was he not wearing a mask during the visit but his office doesn’t believe that a yearly visit qualifies as a physical. Didn’t call back with blood work results and spoke to the receptionist on 2 separate occasions requesting a call back and not one was made. Do yourself a favor and stay FAR AWAY from this office!

Knowledgable, down to earth, caring, willing to take the time to explain things thoroughly. Such a great experience.

He was my family doctor for a long time he's the best!

Dr B. Is the most arrogant doctor.He makes you wait in the waiting room way beyond your appointment is scheduled. Then you go into the examination room and more time. Then he finally comes in with an attitude, Doctors are not supposed to do that. Not one caring word . He told me to go to the hospital for a pain on my side. Then I called to get a script for an cat scan. He could not be bothered ,Told ME Again to go to the ER.I also have other complaints, But i don't want to get into that. My advice to anyone don't go to him, he doesn't care. We were among Dr.Bernard's first patients. He is a fantastic diagnostic doctor, and we have had some weird maladies over the years. He is exceedingly kind. Truly one part we miss about Long Island!

Wonderful practice. I was so impressed with the care Dr. Bernard and his team showed my father that my husband and myself have become patients there now. Yes, be prepared to wait, but it's for good reason. He listens to eveything you say, gives great feedback, and doesn't rush you out. He takes his time with his patients and that's really important to me. Also, he makes me feel very comforbale being honest with any questions he asks. Most doctors I've been to are very clinical and cold...Dr Bernard is very intelligent, but also so warm and kind all at the same time. Lastly, Andrea is beyond wonderful. Absolute sweetheart and she's so good with bloodwork! Taking the bandage off hurt more than the actual needle...and I HATE needles. She totally made the experience so much less stressful. I switched my family to dr Bernard recently! Dr Bernard was very thorough he takes the time to discuss things with you! He covers everything pertaining to your health history and current health issues!

Worst experience i have ever had sat in the waiting room for 55 minutes while other patients were just walking in and out i was the only one in the waiting room and after my name was called i was put in another room in solitary for another 45 minutes just for him to ask me a single question. Disappointing. I have been coming here for about at least 23 years. I was treated for a swollen knee my last visit, no real diagnosis and told to elevate and stay off feet. Well after no improvement after a few days called and told to continue with directions. Got an ultrasound, no clots and called him, spoke with nurse who told me Dr B said to go back to work and elevate when home. I asked nurse what about ongoing swelling and any ideas on resolving it. She said that was all the dr said, had no answer on the cause or solution, just said to call if it continues. Well the swelling hasn't gone away. I'm going to start looking for another doctor. Long wait but nice guy

He was our family doctor for long time. If we were to go back to Long Island my husband said he would go back to office.

Dr. Bernard seems to be one of VERY few doctors willing to help me cope with Fibromyalgia. Being so young, many doctors brush me off, but Dr. Bernard listens to my concerns, answers my questions, and explains as much as he can for me. He seems to want to make me feel better...not just make money off me!

I've been seeing Dr Bernard since 1986 when I moved to Shoreham, NY. I can't even begin to explain how much he knows about every field of medicine and how he gives you options and explains things so you can make the right decision. Even when you tell him what one of your other doctors recommend. I know one thing and that Dr Bernard could retire right now but he doesn't want to leave his patients. I told him you could be living the good life up in the mountains somewhere relaxing everyday !

I have been going to Dr Bernard since he came to Wading River. He always takes the time to explain things to me and has helped through some rough medical issues. People say you have to wait a long time to see him and that is true but when it is my turn I know I will have him as for long as I need him. Thank you Dr Bernard.

The office staff are very supportive and do there best to get you an appointment, or prescription refills. I find Dr. Bernard to be very thorough and doesn't rush you out. He's the first medical Dr. that I would reccommend to someone who was looking for a good Dr. His Pa Allison Keneski is just as competent, and thorough and plesant .

Dr. Bernard is a dream of a doctor. He is very knowledgeable and takes time with his patients to explain exactly what he is planning to do to help them. I just love him and it took me a long time to find him. Everyone in his office is most agreeable and pleasant.

As a former OR nurse, I know a great doc when I meet one and he certainly is. Smart, very thorough, expertise in internal med., will explain everything to you.

Recently moved here, and this MD is by far the most knowledgeable, complete, and has the best disposition out of all the doctors we've seen. Very happy.

Dr. Bernard, himself is awesome!!!! However they always over book. last 2 times i was there I was there over two hours each time. The office staff is ridiculous! they constantly put you on hold, then tell you someone will get back to you and no one ever does. My pharmacy and myself called about 4 days before i was going to run out of medication, sent faxes to have my prescription refilled, medication that I've been taking. Now I am out... its medication that you cant just stop, ignored!! Im done

Unethical billing. Tries to sell you on unnecessary procedures, then codes the regular ones incorrectly so you get charged for what should be a free annual checkup.

Recently moved here, went to several locale doctors, and the one most knowledgeable, complete, and the best bed side manner was Dr. Bernard. My husband and I are very pleased.
