Dr. Austin is an excellent, caring eye doctor. The woman at the front desk is why I rated with only 3 stars. I left the practice because of her rudeness and lack of concern for my situation. I was experiencing floaters in my vision and didn't receive a call back. Called again and still no response. Throughout, she had a "I could not care less" attitude. I went to Dr. Austin as I had developed eye irritation, redness, and itching. My primary care office had given me drops and recommended I see an ophthalmologist. The one I had seen in the past was unable to fit me in, and they were also unwilling to give me other options (to be put on a cancellation list or make a future appointment ). I called Dr. Austin’s office expecting similar results but I was scheduled in for the next day. Dr. Austin was very kind, calm, and personable, he diagnosed and treated the problem that day! Very nice doctor

Over the years, I've seen he cares—about all his patients. Skilled, gentle, personable. Through many yearly exams, a few potential emergencies, and 2 cataract surgeries. As to the wait time, of course it varies. But shorter than many Dr. offices—with a good varied magazine supply.

I love having Dr. Austin as our family eye doctor! We have been with him for many years. Office staff is very accommodating and helpful.

I was suffering from an extremely painful and bloodshot eye. Urgent care found nothing and gave me eye drops. The pain persisted and several days later I called Dr. Austin's office. Two hours later Dr. Austin found and removed an eyelash hidden in the corner of my eye. The pain was instantly gone. He was courteous and sympathetic and competent. Dr. Austin is very competent and a truly nice person. The person who answers the phone is not so nice - irratable and impatient. I really wish someone would talk to her about her manner. It's been consistent over the years.

I was suffering from a painful and bloodshot eye. Urgent care could find nothing and sent me home with eye drops..My eye did not improve and several days later I called Dr. Austin's office. Two hours later Dr. Austin removed a hidden eyelash from the corner of my eye. The pain was instantly gone. I cannot overstate how appreciative I am of Dr. Austin's courteous and sympathetic and competent service. Thank you, Doug Rchmond
