Robert Philip Albares

He did a EGD on me & it’s worse now than when I went in first to see him. I think he messed something up & when I call the office to get help they give me the run around. Would not recommend him to anyone . They only see dollar signs don’t care about helping you feel better. Will never ever use him again.

I have been very lucky to have been under the care of Dr. Albares although at times he doesn't even sit down he is just in and out. He is still an excellent doctor. I adore Gypsy Glover also. But at my last visit I met Amy Eldridge and was utterly disappointed. She accused me of taking NSAIDS and even drew my lab value after I told her I had not taken them. My levels were well within range and I expect an apology. I have never been so insulted. Did she honestly think that I have done this to myself? I was born with these issues and am now 53 and have never had a provider call me a liar. Anyone know another GI specialist? The rudest doctor i have ever met in mylife. His bed side mannor was horrible. And his lack of care and bed side care is atrocious. Worst visit i have ever been forced to under go.

In the area, professional personnel. Dr Albares and Gypsy Glover are awesome. In and out, labs in his office.

Absolutely the best, most caring doctor. He even called me personally once before a surgery to ask if I had any concerns. During appointments, he is good at listening and not rushing out the door. I am thankful to have him with the condition I have. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Robert Albares is a hero! He and his staff kept after me to schedule my periodic colonoscopy, but at 71 years old I already had 5, and preparing for one is never any fun. I didn’t want to do it, but they would not take “no” for an answer. I am glad they were so relentless! I know he didn't want to have to tell me, but he was gentle & compassionate when he said, “There was a little bit of cancer in a polyp I removed from your colon.” Long story, short — he arranged a surgical consult and the cancer was removed. If he did not save my life, he most certainly saved me from a future of severe pain and suffering. He and the staff of Digestive Health Specialists of the Southeast are the greatest! Thanks to each and every one of them. Don't refuse your colonoscopy; you'll be glad you were so smart.

Dr. Albares did a procedure to stretch my esophagus due to problems I was having swallowing during meals. He also did a colonoscopy. I have recommended him to many of my friends and will continue to do so.

Best of a group of the worst. This group is awful....this dr said he was new from, I forget, but...I have no idea what they stand for or do. If you end up hospitalized because of something they didn't do...don't expect much sympathy (for sure). Don't expect empathy going in.
