I had a massive brain bleed from an unknown walnut-sized tumor. Dr. Veyna explained the procedure to have it removed with such confidence, spoke to my family directly after and followed up with me that evening. I would trust him again with my life.highly recommend.

Every one here is super nice and professional! I have heard nothing but GREAT things about this place and the staff here! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

He kept me waiting 2 & 1/2 hours and gave me 4 minutes of his time. He was more interested in the students following him than me. He told me that there was nothing he could do for me. Another surgeon successfully fixed my back problems and relieved me of my pain. He deserves zero stars.

Zero Confidence in his abilities as a Surgeon, Why would I go to a Surgeon when he says I'm AFRAID You'll be in WORSE Shape than I already am after he does my Back Surgery, His Employer should do a Review on ALL his past patients, why they didn't have Surgery with him after they had the go Ahead from their insurance company, he Scared me Away, He's Incompetent in his Abilities, his Staff works very Hard in getting the paperwork approved and Because of his incompetence their Losing Business, and Unhappy Customers, Maybe he should find a New Job or have a few Lawsuits against him

My Dr. referred me to Dr. Veyna when my lung cancer had spread to my brain. Dr. Veyna saw me the same day. He admitted me to McLaren Macomb that afternoon. Dr. Veyna performed the surgery to remove the tumor. It went flawlessly, and I had a quick recovery. No complications or negative side effects at all. Dr. Veyna has a great attitude, is extremely attentive to your situation and needs, and I praise God that I had this great man for my surgery. Dr Venya did a 4 disc cervical fusion on me 10 years ago. I am very satisfied with his expertise. I have recommended him to a few people, one I know is living his life again as he was unable to do anything. Dr. Veyna did my back surgery in December of 2017 and I am so thankful that I had him as my surgeon. He makes you feel comfortable and has a great bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

Not recommend Dr. Venya unless you want to wait hours past appointment time to see him. First visit I waited 3 hours before shown to room and another 20 -30 minutes before doctor saw me. Appointment was made two months in advance. Waiting room was packed and overflow had to sit in the outside lobby. Checking in I saw 90% of patients were seeing Dr. Venya. He overbooks appointments and sitting there for hours you get the feeling you are just part of the doctor's surgery production line. This was not a one time occurance, but 3 times . Waiting room always packed and I was grateul when I got to the room with only a 1hr 45min. wait, my appointment was 10:15 saw the doctor at noon. Also over 2 hourwait He also had little time for his patients. Never saw him before surgery and morning after as I was walking with an aide to bathroom, he saw me from the hall, said "you're up" and kept on walking. Hour later I was being discharged, he never came in to see how I was or discuss my surgery.

I had an appointment scheduled for today April 1, 2019... I got a call from Lisa this morning prior to my appointment stating because of the insurance I have I would need an authorization. I called my insurance to ask about an authorization, the insurance told me “you do not need an authorization unless you are having surgery, are you having surgery?” I stated “no” I explained the situation and they said “the plan you have does not need an authorization.” I called Lisa back and told her “I just got off the phone with my insurance and they told me I don’t need an authorization unless I’m having surgery.” Lisa said my insurance requires an authorization, I kept telling her no they don’t unless I’m having surgery. Lisa then said I am having surgery so I need the authorization. I told her to cancel my appointment. 1.) I have never been seen by anyone in this facility. 2.) How are they going to say i need surgery if I have never been seen? 3.) Lisa is not a doctor and cannot make that determination. 4.) MALPRACTICE LAWSUIT. If you have never seen the patient and/or are not a doctor, you do not get to determine if the patient needs surgery. I would NEVER recommend anyone to this facility or their doctors. Dr Venya saved my life also was able to diagnose what other Neru doctors where unable too. He saved me from being paralyzed god bless this doctor is very sharp and caring. Can not say enough about his skills with precision removed cancer wrapped around my spinalcord in my neck. He also diagnosed my kidney cancer stage 4 that for 3 years of going too different doctors for arm pain did not catch. How do you thank someone for saving you child's life? I drove my 17 year old son to the emergency center at Beaumont-Troy last week. Dr Venya performed a craniotomy; he had an epidural hematoma which resulted from a tree branch falling on his head. If you are a parent you can imagine how terrifying it is to know your child is having a surgery that he may not survive or may not wake up from. Dr Venya saved my baby's life. My son was discharged from the ICU in four days. I know that my son's extraordinarily fast recovery is the result of his surgery. I can't believe the few negative reviews, there definately must be more to those stories! If I could give Dr. Veyna 10 stars I would. He is an awesome doctor in so many ways. There have been a few times there was a long wait in the office but that's because he gives everyone the time they need & believe me a good doctor is well worth waiting for! Unlike the 1st surgeon he was NOT quick to insist on surgery in fact he encouraged me to get other opinions & gave some options. I believe he wanted me to fully understand that it was possible that I may not get better, that it was possible that I could get worse. He was the ONLY doctor that fully explained, answered all my questions gave me the time on my appointments & really understood how I was feeling & not just about the pain. He was truthfulI! I believe he is of that rare breed of doctors that genuinely care about his patients & not only that, has a gift of healing thru his surgeries that could only come from God! Yes, you may have to wait in the office for quite some time to see Dr. Veyna but it is WORTH every minute. He never makes you feel as if he is in a rush to move on, he takes his time to answer all of your questions and always manages to make you feel as if you are the only patient he has for that day. He also makes sure that he has answered every question you have concerning your condition and/or surgery. Dr. Veyna's bed-side manner, respect and genuine concern for his patients is amazing. He is the one I recommend to all my co-workers and family. He did a great job on my cervical fusion and he will be the one I trust to do my lower back surgery also. Honestly, Dr. Veyna is an absolute gift to this earth. I have met a lot of doctors that miss diagnosed a tumor I had in my sacrum, but not Dr. Veyna. If there was a script for what I needed to hear from a doctor it's as if he read it word for word. EXCELLENT bedside manner. Amazing human being. He explained everything and was so honest. He had my best interest in mind at all times. He gave me my life back after fast tracking me to O.R and removing a painful tumor. My family absolutely loved him!

Dr Veyna performed a cervical fusion on me years ago. I have nothing but excellent reviews for him. I recommend him to another aquaintence of mine and after a disabling back injury, then a few visits to Dr Veyna, he is now back to work and feeling fine! Dr Veyna is a very compassionate, understanding and skilled surgeon.

I had surgery with Dr Venya and also my mom. He was the second doc that operated on my mom, and thats why Dr Venya is on staff at most hospitals. He repairs surgeries that have been done by other surgeons. Regarding the low reviews, it’s not even feasible that this doctor and how talented he is, would have a low review. He is that good! In 6 months, no doctor was able to find out my issue. Dr. Veyna was able to diagnose my condition which was my disc was embedded in my spinal cord. This doctor saved my life and I am thankful for that. He did 2 successful surgeries on my neck and lower back. I am still going to the gym and lifting heavy weights. This doctor is not a phone operator and he does not have time for little things. In 6 months, no doctor was able to find out my issue. Dr Veyna is awesome. He is great at listening to you and the pain your in, explains what's going on, what he wants to do, very understanding. He did 3 lower back surgeries to my back and its a huge improvement from when I first had problems. Will recommend him to anyone who need help with their back in the future.

I chose Dr. Veyna after researching and finding out that he trained under the wonderful surgeon who did my previous surgery. When I met him he was very open and personable. I have been a registered nurse for over 40 years and he answered all of my questions and put me at ease. I would recommend him to my family and colleagues.

I trust Dr. Veyna when he reviewed my MRI, he told me that he would not do surgery on me. I'm sure I could find many other doctors that would, but my results would not be optimal. He explained that I would probably not have reduced pain, and would for sure have reduced mobility. I appreciate his honesty, and the time he spent with me explaining my MRI. Surgery is not always the best option.

Dr. Veyna performed brain surgery on me at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak last November. I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received from him! He removed a meningoma tumor the size of an orange from my brain. I will be forever grateful to him for such compasionate care. Lynne Gregory

He did my laminectomy and Dr Veyna also did my mothers back surgery 2 times. He knows his stuff and has privledges at most hospitals. Christy is also awesome.

Dr Veyna was a great surgeon 5 years ago when my disc blew up in my back. For the last 6 months I have been having problems with my back again. I set up an appointment for it & was told the soonest I could get in was 2 months from the day I called to make my appointment. I've went to emergency 2 times since for the excruciating pain I'm in. The day before my appointment as I was in the hospital his office called me to tell me they had to cancel & the soonest I can get in again is another month.

Dr Veyna was great. He sat across from me and my husband and took the time to explain everything from my MRI to surgical options. He also was very honest regarding how much pain relief cervical spine surgery would provide. After ten years of pain I feel that even a small amount of relief would be welcomed and we were grateful for his honesty as to what to expect. We never felt rushed despite the office being very busy that day.

This doctor does not take care of his clients. It is a shame that doctors can get away with what they do...he is one of them.

I did not receive a phone call. 3/19/17 I also wrote a letter to your office with no return. My first visit after surgery 1/18/17 the PA hurt my arm and could not answer my questions.. Dr Veyna said the incision would be 1" and it was 2" incision and sewn up very poorly. I had a Back on Track letter that I tried to give to Dr Veyna in the hospital which he did not take. On my chart was I was allergic/adverse side effects to pain medication, which I get NO PAIN relief, loopy confusion and nausea. They gave me that medication anyway. When I told they staff I was still having pain and throwing up they did nothing but say we gave you medication. I was loopy/confused from the medication so could not figure things out well. I some how knew to go off the pain medication and went home with a pain level of 10. Then I got a side affect insomnia from RObaxin and call the Dr. Veyna and was told he did not know what to do. I was left out in the cold. I can not believe the hospital was paid for medication they should not have given me. On top of everything I am still in pain. I made a big mistake.....but I really do know now why people do not go to hospitals. 3/20/17 I just found out (from a nurse)that they have pain management doctor's team in the hospital that Dr Veyna should have called in the day after surgery since my pain was not being controlled. I ended up seeing my pain doctor after 8 weeks of pain. I am getting a shot tomorrow for my shoulder that Dr. Veyna's PA hurt on 1/18/17, I was hoping it would heal by now. At 2 months of pain and not sleeping I was lucky to have an Internists give me something so I could start sleeping again. 3/21/17, 3/20/17 I did get a call from Mary left a message. Mary I will be writing you a letter(it will be my second letter which will have more in it. This first letter was never responded too). So please do not call today 3/21/17 I am getting shots in my shoulder. Okay 2nd letter sent on 3/30/17. I will awake a respond. I saw dr Venya last year. Very kind doctor explain your condition to you. I will eventually need a cage and screws in my neck. However he is one not to cut unless absolutely necessary. I will be going back soon as fir another evaluation since my condition has worsen. For another her consolation. To keep up with my pain and recommendations from him.

Dr. Veyna has performed both a cervical fusion and a cervical decompression. He brought me through both with flying colors!! He is also quite a human being. He participates in doctors without borders. Above EXCELLENCE!!

I find Dr. Richard Veyna to be an excellent doctor. He is very knowledgeable and has had an excellent education graduating at the top of his graduating class. He is a great communicator and took the time to listen to the problem I have with my neck.

Dr. Veyna has been my doctor for years. I first saw him at a different practice. He had treated me for neck and back issues. When he moved to the MHSI practice. I followed him there. He knows my case inside and out and there is no one I trust more for my back and neck issues then Dr. Veyna.

dr veyna did my last 2 neck surgeries and i must say i never felt so much relief i have in years. i was not only having neck issues the second time but also shoulder issues. i was seen another doctor for my shoulder,they thought it was seperate issues. well after this neck surgery.i am glad to say my shoulder issues are gone completely! i would highly recomend dr venya for any issue you might be having. i love his bed side manner and has a great sense of humor and loves his patients.

Dr Veyna said the incision would be 1" and it was 2" incision and sewn up very poorly. I told the staff I was getting NO PAIN relief, vomiting, they just stated we gave you medication. I stopped taking the pain med and went home. He does not take care of his patients. Go get PRP or Stem cells instead.

I went to the class and they said to control your pain. I had surgery. Beaumount never controlled my pain. I had a reaction to medication. I got blow off by the doctor and his staff. My pain was never controlled. I had to go to a pain doctor.

Dr. Veyna, thank you for seeing me in the ER at RO Beaumont the other day. I was in a real bad way and my normal Dr (P-C) from your practice was out on state on vacation. And God bless him for it as you doctors work as hard and long as anyone and probably more. I felt like my life was spinning out of control and you gave me a path forward. Best doctor and surgeon I have seen in my life time. He cares about his patients. He did my surgery and is currently working on my sisters. He knows what he is doing. I thank God for him and his assist. She is wonderful too. You are in good hands with them.!

Dr Veyna is not only knowledgeable but has a can-do upbeat approach to medicine. I truly felt that I was his priority when considering a double Mobi-C Cervical Spinal implant. He kept me well informed unto the issues I would face, remembered my partner's name and occupation, as well as everything as regards to my desires for my life. After my surgery he was attentive to my needs as well as made sure to address my concerns post-surgery. For such a serious surgery it went perfectly.

MY EXPERIENCE WAS/IS NEGATIVE!!!!! MY CONDITION IS AS BAD AND IN SOME WAYS WORSE THEN BEFORE YOU OPERATED ON ME!! AND ALL YOU WANTED TO DO IS GIVE ME PAIN PILLS!!
