Dr. Richard A Swift

Dr. Swift and staff have been providing excellent service to me for at least 10 years. I have sleep apnea; and, I do not have to go often but when I do, I feel like I have had the right service and frequency.

Nice guy, but answers were more generalizations and didn’t seem interested in providing any substantive data. Told me my inhaler would not have steroids, but then ordered me one that did. When I called to get my prescription fixed, they said he was away for a week and there was no way to fix things until he got back. I don’t even call him a doctor, he was my mother doctor since she had Pulomanry problems. it was not a choice to select him but they were the only practice accepting Medicare, when my mother got sick in 2018 and end up going to the hospital, Swift came to her hospital room and with a really dancing mood told us that you guys have to let her go she is too old, I was very calm but my sister went off on him, from that day I fired him and I bet he doesn’t know his own mother or his mother just spit him out. He should be working as trash collector. Run away from this heartless person.

If In could leave a zero that would be the rating. The good doctor does not hesitate to bill $300 for a 5 minute visit and then his office has the audacity to be too incompetence to record payments and fees so they attempt to extort over-payments from the patient. I have spent hours on the phone with three different offices. I have sent them copies of AMEX and Visa credit card receipts to no avail. They all blame each other and the good doctor remains unreachable....he just needs money. Avoid this group at all cost...if you don't pay them their ransom for incompetence they threaten to turn you over to a collection agency in an attempt to collect double payments. Pathetic practice....I am 67 years old and have never experienced a doctors office/practice that equals this for lack of concern for the patient, inept and rude office staff, constant blaming of another party in the office for mistakes and Dr. Swift acts as though he is so inherently superior to his patient that it is taxing to him to provide more than a few minutes of consultation in a given office visit. There are other pulmonary care practices that will not subject you to this torture.....use them.

If you deal with the front office staff/nurse in Warrenton, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Dr. Swift was my mother's pulmonologist at Fauquier Hospital when she passed away. He had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever encountered. He was abrupt and rude and utterly lacking in any compassion toward her or us as her family. My mother was the most gentle soul you've ever met and didn't deserve that kind of treatment in the last days of her life.

Dr Swift was wonderful. Very kind & knowledgeable. Spent time with me to explain everything. So pleased to find doctors who care these days.
