While other doctors may take a lot of time and make errors in prescribing solutions to a malady, Dr. Singer delivers accurate analysis and recommendations in an expedited way. This is critical for those seeking fast relief and long-term answers for health issues. He is very versatile and is even highly skilled at suturing , leaving minimum scarring. I have been very happy with Dr. SInger and this practice. I was originally referred to by another patient of his that had a very bad case of Lyme disease and he was able to get her walking from being bedridden. I wanted to find a Lyme-literate doctor to delve more deeply into newly developed food allergies I had along with an auto immune diagnosis after age 50. Along with his help and that of several other doctors I have gotten that in control. He listens and takes your concerns seriously. He is not the an overly chit chatty type of doctor and keeps the conversation on point, he is concerned and proceeds with the necessary gathering of information and tests before sharing any input about what might be going on. With having to wear masks these past few years, or doing telehealth there is a bit of distance in general between patient and doctor that might feel a bit cold since you can't capture smiles or full expressions, but I feel this doctor does genuinely care and wants to get it right. We are new to Westport and were referred to Dr. Singer as a PCP. Couldn't get anyone to call me back to even get in to be seen. Left my details a couple times and nothing. Really a disgusting way to treat people

Dr. Singer has been my family's physician for almost thirty years, and I can't remember who recommended him originally, but I recommend him constantly to friends and people I meet. My husband was a doctor, and he used to talk about Dr. Singer's superior diagnostic skills, and how much he respected him. I admire his cutting-edge knowledge about so many areas of medicine, and I am aware he keeps up with the literature, and everything related to the changes and improvements in medicine today. We have been seeing Dr. Singer since we moved to CT 9 years ago and have been very satisfied. Today we tried to make an appointment to see him, and his office said they could not make an appointment with him and could not reveal the reason for this.

I've been going to see Dr Singer for 10 years. During this time he was committed to my healthcare and going above and beyond. He saved my life one day during an exam and found my heart was beating just 30 times a minute! He called me an ambulance and and kept on top of everything from his practice. He is quick to diagnose and refer me to the right specialist, recently for the treatment of a serious skin infection. Although I've moved away, I make the hour drive to continue seeing him as my primary. After multiple visits to various specialists I went to dr Singer because I needed medications for my extreme ear nerve pain and I was hopping for a good specialist's word that would direct me towards some result since no dr. new what causes my pain. I went to see him 12 x in 6 months. Each time I was in tears and obviously falling appart, he barely said anything, just kept prescribing the usual: steroids, atbs, muscel relaxer, etc., etc. until I was on oxycodone and they kept measuring my temperatures which would be great if it would do anything. Offered me lime dissease test ( and recommended me a dr right away) which he said: in about 90 % of cases the test comes back with fals results.?.????? That means just more atbs for no reason. Then one day I was searching a net for "an extreme ear nerve pain" and a medical branch of "neuro-otologist" poped up in an article written by patient. It is a branch of ENT that specializes only in "Ears" which me or anybody around that I've asked knew this branch exists. And I am asking how is that possible that after my 12th visit in 6 months, where dr knew I lost 12 lb in 3 weeks ( and I even didn't notice it how I was preoccupied with that pain) and my other sufferings that he new about dr Singer didn't tell me or sugested me e.g. any specialist that he probably knew I wouldn't know about like the neuro-otologist that I found on a net.? My overall rating description of this dr is that he highly doesn't care!!" Dr Singer was my primary for 20 years at his own practice Westport Family Health. He was great but since moving to this facility, awful. Office missed a Kidney infection which became severe. Even then far more interested in "preventive" testing that "medicare will pay for' than treating the problem. Then when I had Covid-19 symtoms early last year office refused to even talk to me, told me to call the CDC nurse. Without a doctor to ask for a test, I was unable to get tested even as a senior. Dr. Singer is not only an EXCELLENT provider, but probably isvthe smartest medical expertise I know. I’ve worked for and with many doctors in my profession and now my personal care. He stands above the others in the time he takes on you individually. He NEVER gives up. He keeps going and going to get his patients the best care, possible. He has been my PCP for almost 20+ years and ALWAYS finds or orders tests that many miss. I’ve worked with him, as well. Great doctor. Was able to see me despite it being last minute. Got my flu shot here. Never had issues with wait times when I have an appointment. Used his Westport location, now see him in Norwalk.

Singer is the go to for expert diagnosis and thoroughness in treatment. He is well regarded by fellow practitioners. Have never experienced the waits expressed by other reviewers here.

I originally wrote much more but there wasn't enough space, so let me just say that I can't thank Dr. Singer enough for listening to me, correctly diagnosing my Lyme, and working extensively with me to find a treatment regimen that both worked and that I could tolerate. I feel better than I have in years, and when I first came to Dr. Singer I could barely walk, felt like I was dying, and thought for sure I would be on disability before I was 30. He is a life saver. Doctor Singer has been my doctor for a number of years. He is not the warmest and fizziest guy in the world but is very affective at what he does and answer all my questions. He never hurries me. He’s a good doctor cares about his patients.

Disgraceful. They call home and rightvaway ask if we are parents of our daughter. I say yes and ask if she us all right. She is a teenager and was at work in Westport. First thing you think something is wrong. They would not say anything. And keep asking if I am the mother. I keep asking if she is ok. They put me on hold for 5 m. It all turns out her strep thriat result were negative. It's beyonrd belief. How easy would have been just to say once I confirmed I was Mother ( even if their records oddly do not have me as a person to release test results - they should have had) hat it was s routine call rather than refuse to say what it was about and keep torturing me. I have been a patient of Dr. Singer for many years. His practice used to be an urgent care facility and changed to appointments only. This change has improved waiting times and the practice is continually improving but tlephone wait times still need improving. He is an excellent caring doctor who goes out of his way to provide time, answers and compassion, much missing at many other practices and sorely needed by other practicing physicians. I highly recommend this practice.

I have been going to Dr. Singer for 20 years and always get excellent health care. 13 years ago, during a routine annual physical, he identified lumps in my neck I never noticed were there. It turned out to be stage IV cancer. I needed immediate aggressive treatment and fortunately it's been in remission since treatment. If it was not for Dr. Singer's knowledge, experience, and thoroughness, I would not be writing this review today. Highly recommend.

What can I say...I stumbled into this office a year ago for what I assumed was a routine illness and it turned out to be a serious health crisis! Even with atypical symptoms, confusing test results, and conflicting opinions, Dr. Singer properly diagnosed my issue and took immediate action. His extensive knowledge and dedication over the last year has truly saved my life! His wait-times may be longer than usual, but you'll realize the trade-off by the focused time you receive when it's your turn!

never in a rush. always willing to listen to all my concerns, and able to patiently explain diagnoses and treatments in lay terms. no-nonsense but extremely pleasant. very highly recommend.

Dr. Singer basically saved my life. He took the time and his expertise to look at a 63 year old male and get my blood pressure and circulation corrected so I now am a healthy adult. I had a broken foot and he got me to the right person to repair it. He then healed a bad open wound I had from the cast and did some of the treatment on a Sunday. There are few doctors who would do that. He is a throwback to the days of an MD coming to your home and healing you. By far he is the best in Connecticut.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Singer's for over 20 years. He is a superb diagnostician and I have recommended him to all of my friends. In fact, he saved a dear friend's life because he made a diagnosis just in time. We are all so lucky to have Richard Singer, M.D. take care of us.

I have been going to Dr Singer ever since he opened his doors. He he an excellent diagnostician, and a very caring doctor. More than once he has gone above and beyond when treating my dad (92 years old). It is also very nice to know you don't need to wait days for an appointment. The office was once walk-in facility, but now it is a full-fledged internal medicine practice. I highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Singer was the first doctor to diagnose my sleep apnea problem. He gave me an at-home test, which confirmed his diagnosis. His office then arranged for me to receive a CPAP machine and get insurance to pay for it. The results have been life changing. I highly recommend Dr. Singer for his professionalism, knowledge, and caring attention.

Dr Singer is Amazing! All the stars in the sky would not be enough! In addition to normal flu visits or colds he recently diagnosed a very serious disease I had called leishmaniasis and worked w the CDC to plan best treatment spanning 4 mos--saw my case through til the very end. Dr. Singer is outstanding. He is an excellent diagnostician. Over the years My wife and I have had problems which required fairly rapid care. Dr. Singer was able to rapidly determine what the problems were and how to rapidly cure them or define the problems better with additional imaging, blood or other testing. Some examples include diverticulitis, prostatitis, meniscalbtear, unusual arrhythmia, etc. Dr. Singer asks you the patient the right questions and reviews the history.

Dr. Singer saved my life when I had chronic lyme disease. He is an excellent diagnostician.

Rude front office staff always a bad sign. The Dr. went to medical school so that is good. Spends an inordinate amount of time on his computer screen, so you probably won't see the whites of his eyes. Move onto another practice. Keep a copy of every medical record that you generate at this office if you do go as they'll make it tough to get your own personal records that belong to you and are about you....also - this is a clinic - so be prepared to waaaaaaaaaaaaaait.

I came to see Dr Singer for flu and cold symptoms I was treated with 4 different antibiotics in a 6 week period, and after months of liver specialists and finally a liver biopsy, I was treated for drug induced liver disease. Dr Singer spent at most 5 minutes with me during each visit before prescribing these drugs. It has cost me thousands of dollars and my health. Please do not go to see Dr Singer or his walk in clinic. I should have sued for malpractice.

Incompetent staff checked in only one waiting a woman comes in after me and is seen before me. Eight or so people seem to be working but their totally ignored me. Avoid this place at all costs! I went there the other day and after waiting in line for 1.5 hours the doctor basically refused to provide medical service saying that they are not qualified for what I need and don't have knowledge and the equipment. I had a very common health problem that was taken cared of in a similar clinic in minutes. The doctor herself looked like she needed medical assistance. Overweight, both eyes looking in totally different directions and dressed borderline homeless. On top of all rude - told me that I came there for nothing. Avoid this place at all costs! If you can find another primary care doctor please do so for the following reasons. 1. Long wait time. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour wait for a walk in and they often forget about patients in the exam rooms. Scheduled Appointments are never on time either. Arrived At 11am and still waiting 2pm 2. The office never opens on time (usually 30-40 minutes late) 3. They rack up unnecessary visits to drive the business. A read out of non-critical lab results should be addressed via a phone call and not require an office visit 4. Dr. Singer is unresponsive to urgent medical matters if it requires a phone call vs an office visit (e.g. Side effects from taking a medicine. He never responded to several requests for a call back. Your business cannot handle walk-ins and scheduled appointments it creates long wait times. Please save your self a lot of time and frustration and find another doctor. I usual see Dr. Singer at the Westport Family Health Clinic on Post Rd., His bedside manner is terrible; weather he means it or not he has a very condescending aloofness about him. I honestly am not 100% sold on his diagnosis half the time, but I'm usually only there when I have a complaint/illness I cannot shake and need to see someone last minute. I always get this Dr. His personal hygiene is also pretty bad.
