I was happy with the amount of time he spent assessing my podiatry needs, explaining the physiology, and treatment options. I trusted his judgment and found the outcomes satisfactory. I plan on returning to his office.

I've been plagued with bunion and hammer toe for years and years the pain was excruciating. I was extremely nervous but Dr.Pollak answered every question and explained everything to me. I was completely trusting in him at the time of surgery. It was over before I knew it. Let me tell you I am so happy with his work. It's has changed my life. I still have some healing to do and I will repost with the Results. Thank you Dr.Pollak and thanks to your staff. I'll recommend you with full confidence to friends family and anyone needing a bunionectomy. I've been plagued with bunion and hammer toe for years and years the pain was excruciating. Dr. Pollak is an exceptional podiatrist. I previously went to another San Antonio podiatrist and couldn't wait to leave his office. Compassionate, empathetic, and explained everything prior to my toe surgery and even the day of the surgery came in to the surgery center to assure me that all was going to go well even telling me how many minutes I would be under anesthesia my utmost concern due to past history experiences. A most personable surgeon. I hope he never retires.

Dr. Pollak left me crippled and in severe pain in my left foot and leg for the rest of my life! I accidentally fell on the day of my left foot surgery and he got so angry with me that he got bright red in the face and raised his voice fussing at me! We ended up having words because I was defending myself and, after a month of trying to work out a way to get my foot corrected that I could handle financially, he got frustrated with me and he fired me as a patient. He is all about money, not the good of the patient. As a result,. My foot is so messed up that I can't walk very much and it's caused pain and leg cramps everyday and night. I will never be the same and my pain will never go away all because I accidentally fell and that made him so mad that he was mean to me and I tried to explain how I fell and we ended up angry at each other. I would never recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy. He's very unprofessional and rude. Dr. Pollak left me crippled and in severe pain in my left foot and leg for the rest of my life! I fell after surgery, an accident, and he got mad at me and wouldn't fix it then. He let it heal then wanted to redo the surgery and wouldn't do it for insurance money only and I couldn't afford it again. I've been in excruciating pain and can't wear shoes very long which has ruined my life. Then he fired me as a patient because he said he couldn't accept insurance only payment and I told him the doctor I worked for did that all of the time, so he could do that and I felt he wasn't being fair.

Awesome Doctor!!! He did two heel spur surgeries on each of my heels that involved extensive removal of my Achilles tendons. They required 2 anchors. Everything went great. He was great. I highly recommend him. His staff was great and efficient. Anyone that ran the NY Marathon and others is geared to getting you up and running within your capabilities. A lot depends on you....he will do his part. I hope he continues his practice in case my family or friends need him in the future.

I had a worst experience from a doctor's office. I paid for getting orthotics, paid additional money for rush order as I had to travel. Almost a week now and the manufacturer has not yet received the cast !. They are so busy that they cannot even follow up with UPS !!!. I found that the office people have messed up the UPS billing and UPS will not deliver. The response from the doctor's office - the supervisor is out of office - call back next week ! seriously ???. I'm not sure why the negative reviews because Dr. Pollak is a wonderful surgeon. He did foot surgery 1 year ago and I've had no issues at all. Totally wonderful!

I've had surgery on both feet a few years apart and had excellent results, no complications and barely noticeable scaring. My only regret was waiting so long to have it done. I've referred 5 different family and friends to Dr. Pollak and they had the same experience.

This was my second trip to this Doctor. I should have paid attention to the reviews. I had an appointment last week at 2:45pm. I'm always on time for my doctor appois but this I waited fifteen minutes with not one response from his nurses teling me he had an emergency and was running behind on his appointments. So I went and rescheduling for today at 8:30am. Once upon my arrival I was informed Dr Pollack was not seeing me any more because I couldn't wait the extra fifteen minutes from last week. This man is an unprofessional doctor and doesn't know how to treat his patients correctly. He also has very rude nurses in front office who don't know politeness or how to show professional ethics! This experience was okay, I got treated but it wasn't pleasant. To be fair I have nothing to compare it to. First, we waited about 40-60 minutes each visit. Then when we got in, they tried to get me to get an X-ray right away without talking to me. I'm assuming this is their standard procedure for every patient who passes through, and I find it kind of odd. I declined it, because I've had an unimaginable amount of necessary radiology and I did not need this (they even said the doctor didn't need it to diagnose most things.) Then I got told my inserts were subpar over and over again. I could have heard it once and been done with it. I was obviously not satisfied with them because I was at the podiatrist. But he had to keep telling me why they were awful. I agreed but he kept trying to convince me. Then I got fitted for custom inserts. Picked them up today, tried them on, we'll see how it goes. The guy is nice enough. I got the thing I need I think. But it wasn't the best experience in my opinion. Update 8/20/16: Shoe inserts caused burning feet. Blamed me for getting the wrong kind of tennis shoe (he told me where to go who to talk to and somehow I messed up.) anyway he cut up a bit of my shoe and told me to come back in a month. Update 9/21/16: The custom shoe inserts he prescribed did not help me. They caused substantial knee and hip pain (I have some ligament instability) and his solution? There wasn't one. Literally "I'm not a knee doctor, I'm a foot doctor" yes but aren't they all connected? Aren't the feet the foundation for knee and hip stability? He said it was a coincidence that I had pain. That he's never had anyone complain after getting inserts. Washed his hands of me and told me to see a knee Doctor. Didn't want to problem solve or think, just does the same thing for everyone. He's an older guy, maybe just too set in his routine to challenge it. Side note: No one seemed happy in that office, not the patients, staff, or doctor. Heard complaints of stench and ancient looking interior. Very depressing overall. This experience was okay, I got treated but it wasn't pleasant. To be fair I have nothing to compare it to. This doctor just doesn't care anymore. Would not recommend anyone see this doctor. 60+ minute wait multiple times. Doesn't listen. Not helpful.

Saw Dr. Pollack w/left ankle pain. Looking at my feet, as I stood directly in front of him, he said I had fallen arches. I pointed out my high arches. He acknowledged them and took more x-rays, noticed that I have an extra bone in both ankles (they stick out in plain sight). He said he would do open ankle surgery to go in & shave off some of the lower bone on my left ankle, 6 weeks recovery in a hard cast. No arthroscopy. He told my doctor, but not me, that he would also be doing tendon surgery.

No WILL NOT RECOMMEND. We waited ONE HOUR, then asked the assistant, she said another 20 minutes wait at least. My husband is wheelchair bound & there was not one handicap parking spot available. The elevator was small, & wait time very lengthy. Will not bother to go back and try again.

Though a nice guy, he performed a foot surgery that did correct one problem, but created a far worse one that now requires pain management shots--which cost $380 a pop. After my surgery, for months he couldnt figure out why my ankle hurt worse than before the surgery--finally went to an ortopedic surgeon who, after less than 60 seconds of looking at the same MRI info that Dr Pollock had seen repeatedly, told me flat out "here's the problem". Bottom line, was told that a man of my age should have never been offered that surgery, as it changed the dynamics of my foot. Oh, and the really good news is that I can now expect it to get worse over the course of my life. My only option, which the ortho said was not a good one, is to have the ankle frozen by running a screw up my ankle, which the ortho said he wouldnt do unless I was crying with pain. I now have to wear a support brace, and just suck it up. Hard to do as an officer in the military who is required to run.
