Dr. Richard T Perry

Dr Perry is an amazing Orthopedic surgeon. He replaced 2 knees, 2 hips, and repaired my fractured femur! Need I say more? I am so pleased with my overall recoveries and grateful beyond words for his knowledge and skilled hands! Wonderful experience and highly recommend. He is my hero!

Great experience, much easier than I anticipated. Up on my bike on the trainer 6 weeks after surgery. Planning knee replacement surgery in November.

Had both of my knees (total replacement) done by Dr. Perry. He is a very good surgeon and has very good bedside manners. Have had no pain at all. My knee surgery was done a year apart. With the first knee I stayed in the hospital for 3 days and then was transferred to Fraser Villa to recover for 13 days. With the second knee I was released the next morning (during Covid) and went straight home. Had no problems at all.

I had seen Dr. Perry for a few years as the osteoarthritis in my right knee grew more troublesome. I had never had any surgery before. He told me that my knee would let me know when it was time for the total knee replacement surgery. He was correct. Once I scheduled the appointment for the surgery, Rick and his staff helped me prepare for it. The procedure was relatively pain free and the prescribed physical therapy following the procedure had me back playing golf and working out within 90 days. It was a far better procedure and result than that experienced by some of my friends who were treated elsewhere. While I hope I won't need to have the procedure performed on my left knee, there is only one surgeon who I would engage to do so if necessary, Rick Perry!

I saw Dr. Perry several times before my surgery. He was very informative and patient. I was very happy with Dr. Perry overall. I had surgery December 10, 2020 and went home the same day. Recovery was difficult but that's what I expected. Today I would walk without pain. I walk 1 hour most days and feel great. I am also 80 years old.

Very good doctor. Excellent staff top to bottom. Everything went the way they said it would. I have full range of motion and no pain at all . But you must work at rehabilitation and afterwards stretching and doing the exercises. Highly recommend Dr Perry.

He is a very good surgeon. He has done surgery on myself and my one son. No issues with the surgeries and he has very good beside manners. I had a knee replaced and my son had a torn acl.

Dr Perry and his staff are very organized. He explains procedures well. Communication between patient and staff prior to surgery is execellent.

Dr Perry did an absolutely wonderful job on my anterior hip replacement surgery. I have had both hips replaced within one year of each other. My husband is seeing Dr Perry now for injections in his knee. I would highly recommend Dr Perry to anyone needing help with their hips or knees.

Dr Perry has performed 2 total knees on me and one on my wife. He is the ultimate professional and the quality of his work is outstanding. He managed my care and my pain was minimal. I can't say enough about the outcomes of the surgeries. I now have a very active life thanks to Dr Perry.

Dr. PERRY did an awesome job I was back to work within 10 days 14 hour days on my feet all day I am a auto mechanic Dr. Perry definitely put me back together properly it has been 2 years without any issue thank you again

Yes I recommend Dr. Perry. He is a highly skilled surgeon and he did a good job on my knee replacement. His office staff is not so attentive to detail and missed scheduling key post-surgical follow up appointments following surgery. Be proactive when dealing with the office and make sure you get the follow up care.

Great service. Dr Perry performed my anterior hip replacement 5 years ago and it still feels great. He has a great reputation.

I was hit on my motorcycle a number of years ago and needed reconstruction of the tibia and then a few years later a total knww replacement. Dr Perry was excellent for the intital trauma surgey and the follow-up knee replacement. The office staff is friendly and helpful

I tried to make an appointment with Dr Perry because the doctor I was seeing retired. I dropped off a copy of my casefile, and was told he would take a look at it. Two weeks later I was called and told he would not accept me as a patient. No explanation or anything. What a waste of time. My name is Laurence Fitzgerald (Larry). 15 years ago, on Sept. 9th, 2005, I received hip replacement surgery with Dr. Richard Perry doing the surgery. I was scheduled for a 9:00 a m procedure BUT Dr. Perry had some reservations about the sterility of his surgical instruments and directed his staff to RE-STERILIZE his instruments. My IV was capped off, I left Bon Secours (now Beaumont Grosse Pointe), returning about 4 hours later for the procedure at 2:00 p m. He did an AWESOME job and gave me my life back. I had been crippled for at least 2 years in the prime of my middle age (50). It’s now 2020 and I have enjoyed wonderful mobility these past 15 years. Dr. Perry”s exceptionally high standards and dedication to excellence are an enviable level of professionalism rarely seen. I’m not saying Dr. Perry can “walk on water”... but, if he did... I had a total hip replacement in November 2020. I chose Dr Perry as I heard from many sources that he was the best. He does the anterior approach. I feel like I got the quality of my life back. It is wonderful to be able to walk without any assistive devices and I no longer have pain. I highly recommend Dr Perry.

I underwent a complete left knee replacement, and followed the therapy regimen afterward. I am pain free, the knee has full range of motion, and I am delighted with the outcome of the operation. Dr. Perry explained the operation completely, and I was confident for a successful result.

For 10 + years I struggled with Right Knee Pain. Come to find out the knee was full of arthritis. I had a full right knee replacement on April 2, 2021, yes just 6 weeks ago. Total Right Hip Replacement - Played in golf tournament in 3 weeks, again in 4 weeks, and then climbed the Acropolis in Athens in 6 weeks.

The very best hip replacement surgeon in Michigan. Using just a cane after two weeks and on my own in one month. Two years later the hip is still perfect. Doctor Perry is the best.

A+ Dr. Perry replaced both of my arthritic hips. I could not be happier with the result! He is knowledgeable, skilled and confident. After consults with many other surgeons, I chose him because he specializes in/only operates on hips and knees. Other surgeons said they operate on everything (knees, hips, shoulders, hands, etc). He changed my life; I’m grateful.

When Dr. Perry said he could fix my hip, I couldn't believe it! He was the 5th doctor over 15 years I visited to find someone who could fix it. It has been two years since my surgery and I'm going back to him for the other hip. In my opinion, he is a miracle worker! Waiting for the appointment or in the office was never a problem for me.I was just happy to find someone with the skills and confidence to do the job.

Totally thrilled with Dr. Perry. GREAT OFFICE. St. John's Providence is awesome. Not one stitch of pain since surgery 3 yrs ago. I have referred 6 more people to him. They are all very happy also.

I tried to make an appointment to see Dr Perry based on a recommendation from my physical therapist. My previous doctor had retired, so I gathered up my previous appointment charts and MRI's and dropped them off with Dr Perry. I was told almost two weeks later that he was not taking me as a patient with zero explanation. What a waste of time. Based on the reviews on this site, though, I am glad I didn't get in!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST MEDICAL ENCOUNTER I HAVE EVER HAD. I waited two hours past my appointment time only to be told that I had to wait longer if I actually wanted to see Dr. Perry. I was ALLOWED to speak with the Dr's assistant who gave Dr. Perry inaccurate information about me, and put no effort into correcting the information. The waiting room was FREEZING, and because we sat by the thermostat we could see it read 62 degrees with cold wind blowing in the door constantly. When I demanded my Co-Pay back (they can bill for services not rendered???????), the condescending, out of touch receptionist tried to tell me what happened. REALLY? Lady, you weren't even there. No wonder they make you fork over the co-pay as soon as you get in. I'm going to guess my experience was not unusual in the least. And clearly they train the staff to get ready for patients who actually expect to be treated with respect and good medical care. Clearly, this practice is all about round'em up, chop'em up, shut'e

Highly competent, very thorough in his visits. Very experienced.

Dr. Perry is excellent! He did my hip replacement and I recommend him to everyone. I used a walker for about a week and then went to a cane for 2.5 weeks and was then safely able to wall inn my own. I only need pain pills for the first 10 days and then over the counter meds took care of it for the next 14 days. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and I will be going on a cruise in 2 weeks. There's nothing I can't do. Thank you Dr. Perry for giving me my life back!

Horrible bedside manner! Told my husband his knee was just arthritis. Never watched him walk until I told him he wasn’t doing his job! After seeing him walk he scheduled an exploratory surgery & just as we suspected he had torn something! He did apologize saying the mri didn’t show it! He’s a good surgeon but 2 hr waits in the office & his horrible bedside manner is not what you expect when you’re paying big money to see a specialist! We found a much more caring dr.

Went to Dr. Perry for right knee pain after playing tennis. Severe pain in back of knee and down the leg. After waiting 2hrs and 15 min for appt he gave me approx 2 min of his time and sd it was arthritis. Told him I was pretty sure I tore something. Rec'd cortisone shot and on my way. No MRI, not necessary! 7 mos later and new dr, I have two tears in miniscus.

He never took the time to see me and even told his receptionist he couldn't do nothing for me regarding a knee replacement. "What type of Orthopedic is this?

Dr Perry MD and Jane his wonderful assistant did a fine job replacing my hip with titanium under emergency circumstances and I'm grateful that they took me after they've already scheduled so many surgeries in the day which causes them to be very late coming home from work that day. I had hip surgery Aug 22nd was back to work in 3 weeks.. using a cane 5 days after surgery and getting around, some pain nothing like my previous hip 4 yrs ago... Dr Perry did a wonderful job totally would recommend him to everyone.

I am extremely happy with my hip replacement done by Dr. Richard Perry in September 2017. Dr. Perry used the anterior approach for my hip replacement which went so well that I came home from the hospital the day after my surgery. My severe hip pain was gone after the surgery was completed and immediately improved my quality of life. I look forward to getting back to work and my sport activities.

I went to Dr perry with a work related injury he step in to the room and said it was for the attorney to fight it out if it was work related or not I came back a second time he said it wasn't work related now I can't walk 20 feet with out my it band totally locking up the new ortho dr said it was because I keep walking the way I was with a torn meniscus because it took so long to diagnos the problem it dr perry care he could have found the problem instead of just not caring

Dr. Perry has replaced both of my hips and had to revise both, The last revision has been injected four times and still extremely painful. Now since he can't see pain he is sending me to a revision specialist. Very arrogant and told me I was bringing down his success average. He absolutely makes no mistakes even though he had to revise both hip replacements. Do your homework before seeing him.

I've had knee problems since I was very young. Recently was told to see an orthopedist due to major knee pain and crunching in the knee as well as having osteo arthritis. He was done with me before he began all because I'm only 41. He explained surgeries that could help but said he would not do them because I was only 30 even though I'm actually 41 and ended the conversation with learn how to live with the pain, maybe try physical therapy. I cried for two days seeing as I have lived with this ??

Dr Perry was very thorough when discussing and scheduling my surgery. He took the time to show me my xrays and xrays of what my knee should look like. I knew exactly what to expect throughout the process. The front staff was very thorough and quick to gather all my information and get me started on my appointment. I would highly recommend this office.

Heard great things about Dr. Perry. Tons of hoops to jump through before getting first appointment. Initial visit was excellent so scheduled total knee. Hospital stay was horrific, with wrong medication given and no contact with Dr.Perry or his office to correct it! My post-surgical visit was the worst experience ever. Dr.Perry said he did not care that I ended up in the ER with an extensive hematoma or that I had problems in the hospital. 6mths later no Dr.Perry only assistant. NO MORE!

Just had Hip Replacement done with Dr. Perry and I am so happy. I put it off for so long and when I met with him to discuss the surgery he put my mind at ease. The office is very busy but the girls up front are very quick to get all the required info. I did wait a bit to see him, but it was totally worth the wait.
