Richard Christopher Miyamoto

My son was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder. He had to have his thyroid removed quickly to prevent the cancer associated with this disorder. Dr. Miyamoto came heavily recommended. Originally, we were going to have another hospital perform the surgery, but wanted to make sure we were doing what was best for our boy. Dr. Miyomoto met with us and surgery came quickly. He was phenomenal with us, but more importantly, with our son and his surgery was successful. He was a beacon of hope when we were at our lowest as parents. I will recommend Dr. Miyomoto to anyone I can and will do as long as he’s practicing. Our experience was great with him and his staff. A thank you is in order from us to him.

*update from our experience a week ago* We went back today, another family had the same issue as us with the temp reading higher due to kiddo wearing a coat, they were able to retake it and be seen so maybe my complaint actually worked. We were able to see Dr. Miyamoto after a short wait, WE LOVED HIM! I'm so glad that we came back despite the issues last week! He was very thorough and addressed all of our concerns, we are looking forward to working with him.

I would love to rate the doctor but we were turned away at the door and not able to see him. We waited 6 WEEKS to come see this specialist ENT, 6 WEEKS, my husband took the day off, we rearranged all our other appointments and schedules, only to be turned away once in the office because our child had her coat on and was wearing a sweater underneath when we first walked in and her temp was 99.4, I told them it's because she is wearing her coat, (she has a neurological disorder that can sometimes make it hard to regulate her body temperature) she took the coat off and immediately rechecked and it was NORMAL!! They said we had to leave but we could come back tomorrow and see a nurse practitioner ?? but you won't see us today ... But tomorrow we will magically be safe to come in??? But I waited all this time for this doctor who is supposed to be fantastic and I don't want his nurse practitioner I want to see him so now they can't get us in again until the 1st because you know, we could have Covid, but it would be totally okay to come into the exact same office tomorrow and see the nurse practitioner. Unbelievably rude nurse, or whoever she was to top things off. Fantastic, I guess my kid can just continue to suffer ?? at least the office girls were polite but whoever took our temperature was not at all!

Dr. Miyamoto removed my daughter's tonsils and adenoids 6 months ago. He did a wonderful job - her recovery was quick and mild and she hasn't had any problems since. He is very approachable and addressed all of my questions and concerns. My son now needs the same procedure done and my mind is at ease knowing that he will be in Dr. Miyamoto's care. I would 100% recommend him to anyone.
