Dr. Richard Douglas Matthews

Dr Doug Matthews has a good reputation in town partially due to him following in his fathers footsteps. He is nice but a man of few words. You need to ask a lot of questions if you want information. I do recommend him but can’t say much for his office staff. I had some complications after going home from the hospital. His P.A. Did call me and talk but did not offer to see me in the office. The calls to the office were either never returned and the one time Kelly called she was condescending and unhelpful. The meds doc sent me home with were not working. I was advised to call my primary care doctor if I needed anything else! I don’t even take strong meds normally and was so upset with her response. I’m still having problems 2 weeks out but don’t think a call to him will help. I’m still waiting for a call back from last week. It’s a shame that he doesn’t have a better trained office staff. I think he is good but really disappointed in any “ so called” after care.

The best dr and surgeon you could ever ask for. He is honest, caring, takes his time and makes you comfortable.
