Dr. Kim is awesome!! It has been about 7 months since I had surgery on my wrist to repair a scaphoid fracture. He is one of the most professional and dedicated physicians I have ever been treated by. It has been a long road to recovery but throughout the process, he made me feel comfortable and less anxious. He explained the procedure fully, offered options, and answered all my questions in detail. What is most impressive is that he took the time to periodically checked in with me to make sure I was doing well even after months of surgery. I am very pleased to say that my wrist has completely healed. Dr. Kim, thank you! You are truly one of a kind.

2 carpal tunnel surgeries

My story begins in Aug. 2019. As usual the best reference is word of mouth. I came under Dr. Kim's care for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both wrists. Tried Cortisone injections first, but that only brought temporary relief. Next, came surgeries on wrists 4 months apart. After Occupational Therapy my hands were good again. Soon after I discovered that I was developing Dupuytren's Contracture Syndrome in both hands. As in the Carpal Tunnel surgeries all the risks and successes we explained to me which left me as a well informed patient. Alternative methods were also explained. I made the right decision to have the surgeries done and not the chemical injection option. I have witnessed a relative who had the chemical injection route and after viewing my results he realized he made the mistake of his life. What a mess! After being under Dr. Kim's care for almost 3 years, I can emphatically say that he is a wizard with the scalpel as well as being a true compassionate human being.

I am very pleased with the overall care received from Dr. Kim and his office staff. I am very satisfied with the outcome of my hand surgery.

I was born with 2 fingers on my left hand severely deformed. For years many other specialist I had consulted simply wanted to amputate both fingers. People can be very mean. For over 40 years people would make faces or make comments under their breath. They also asked intrusive questions. What happened were you in an accident ? This has caused me much emotional pain and self esteem issues my whole life not to mention as I aged my fingers developed painful arthritis. My husband never gave up and always encouraged me to start looking for another doctor. That's when I found Dr. Kim. On my first visit I saw have caring and confident he was that he could help me. Felt I could trust him. He has changed my life. He was able to reconstruct my finger (which included shortening and breaking the finger in various points then twisting it into proper position). When I healed you could even see a scar. His hands are BLESSED ! I will always indebted to Dr. KIM.

If you are looking for a great hand specialist/surgeon look no further. Dr. Kim is honest, sincere, has great bed side manner (according to my mom) and most importantly delivers great results. See, I am a hand therapist and I see patients after Dr's do their jobs and need rehab. Dr. Kim's patients that I have seen DONT need much therapy, which sucks for my business, but shows how good he is. All his patients talk so highly of him. His skill and personality stands out to everyone I spoke with. So, when my mother broke her wrist, naturally I wanted her to see the best. She needed surgery and Dr. Kim did a great job even though it was not as simple break . After few months of therapy she has full function in her hand and could not be more happy with the results and the experience. Thank you Dr. Kim!!

Dr Kim is an excellent surgeon who is kind and caring. He thoroughly explains treatment options and procedures . I fractured my wrist I several places and after Dr. Kim’s surgery I am amazed that my wrist is like I never broke it. Him and his entire office staff were very courteous and he did an excellent job of communicating the extent of my injury and what he was going to do.

I was very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Kim who reconstructed the nail bed on one of my fingers following Mohs surgery to remove a squamous cell carcinoma. He was extremely thorough in explaining the procedure before and during the surgery. He and his staff are very professional, courteous, and helpful. Dr. Kim's expertise and compassionate care made me feel at ease. He consistently took the time to answer questions and he concluded every visit with the understanding that he was always available should I have additional questions or concerns. I cannot express how highly I regard Dr. Kim. Besides being an accomplished surgeon with excellent credentials, he is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met.

As a result of a bicycle accident, I broke my thumb. Dr. Kim was very thorough and presented me with several options. I decided to go with surgery, followed up by occupational PT. The surgery was a success, and I now have full use of my thumb. Dr. Kim listened to my concerns and was terrific. Appointment times were adhered to, and there was virtually no wait. If I should every have another hand issue, I would not hesitate going to Dr. Kim to treat it.

Dr. Kim is the ultimate professional. He takes the time to explain every step of the process, ready to answer questions and encourages communication. In short, outstanding bedside manners with empathy to the patients. Needless to say, that he is an excellent surgeon. Dr. Kim is top class, I will most certainly recommend him.

Dr. Kim is a true professional and cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain what he feels is wrong. He calls the night before a procedure to make sure you're at ease and will answer any last minute questions you may have as well as follows up with you that night after surgery. He is the best!!!

Dr Kim is an excellent surgeon.Had two surgeries for two severed tendons and two nerves with no anesthesia. I did not have any pain during and after the surgery. He is comprehensive, attentive and he puts your mind at ease. He explains everything and always asks if there are any questions. He has an efficient staff. There's nothing else to say apart from Dr Kim is absolutely top class and I highly recommend. I had a complicated distal fracture of my wrist from a snowboarding accident in March 2021 that required surgery. I found Dr. Kim online through my health insurance portal and I'm so glad I did. His office staff are polite, professional and promt - finding me an appointemnt right away. From the monent you speak with Dr. Kim you just know he's an exceptionally smart, highly experienced, professional doctor who will absiolutely provide you with the best advice and quality of care. Excellent bedside manner all through my initial consultation (where he got straight to the nub of the injury and treatment options), surgery at Hackensack HMU (which was arranged in a matter of days after the accident), and subsequent checkups. A few months of rehab later and I'm good to go and get back onto the slopes. Thank Dr. Kim and team for fixing me up!!

Excellent specialist! I had a carpal tunnel surgery under local anesthesia , it is a way to go. No pain during surgery, almost no pain after surgery. Fingers moving well no therapy need it! I wish all doctors be like him! Inessa Levitan from Fair lawn

Dr. Kim was outstanding in helping my teenager who broke his finger playing football. During our first visit, Dr. Kim was able to examine, x-ray and diagnose my son's injury and present us with alternatives (therapy/surgery) all in one office visit. We chose to have surgery and it was performed in the surgery center on the bottom floor of the building where his office is located, which made things very convenient and timely. Post-surgery, Dr. Kim advised on occupational therapy for my son and after a few months, my son's finger has healed and ready for basketball season. My experience with Dr Kim’s care has been an A+. Right from the start, he educated me about my trigger finger and carpal tunnel hand problems. He politely listened to my questions and concerns. He provided me with an immediate pain relieving treatment, and the likely course of my condition. He sent me for nerve test to confirm the diagnosis. After the third pain management treatment, I asked for surgery with local anesthesia which was a wonderful success. My follow up visits have been informative and therapeutic. Dr. Kim was very kind and understanding. He explained exactly what the problem was with my son’s wrist and answered all my questions. We never felt rushed in our appointments. His front office was always reachable and helpful.

Dr. Kim and his staff provided excellent care for my 14 year old son who broke his wrist during a soccer game. It was a growth plate break and Dr. Kim put together a plan that did not require surgery and had him back into training in about 6 weeks.

I have been seeing Dr Kim since February 2019 and he is one of the best doctors I have. Very informative and friendly, he doesn't talk down to you like other doctors do. I found Dr. Kim to be both professional and personable. He made sure I understood the procedure and answered any questions I had. His staff in the office and during surgery were excellent.

I broke my wrist in a biking accident and went to Dr. Kim for an examination. Surprisingly, he didn't immediately recommend surgery. He said he would like to avoid surgery, if possible! Instead, he sent me first for X-ray and then CT imagining, which did eventually reveal the need for surgery. Throughout this process, I never felt that Dr. Kim was in a rush to move on to the next patient. I even felt a little bad taking up so much of his time asking questions, all of which he answered in detail. The surgery itself went very smoothly. I soon learned from several of the people I met at occupational therapy that my experience wasn't true for everyone. I felt lucky to have had my surgery performed by a doctor who is so skilled and attentive. I highly recommend Dr. Kim.

I had a freak accident that nearly severed off my thumb. Dr. Kim was highly recommended to me. In the ER prior to his arrival MANY nurses came up to me telling me how fortunate I was to have him and what good hands I was in. They all had similar stories of how they all had witnessed his amazing surgical ability and what a good person he is. When we met, his reputation preceded him. He is not only an amazing surgeon who put my thumb back on (Its fully functional) but he is an amazing person, that listens, explains articulately, and truly cares. He is kind, very well spoken, clearly brilliant, warm, companionate, and an absolute professional, Six months later he can recall the detail of my surgery and will answer any questions or concerns. His surgical abilities are world class, my thumb is fully functional. I feel blessed that I met him and had the opportunity for him to operate on my thumb. Dr. Kim performed tarpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands. He is an excellent surgeon. I felt extremely comfortable with him. He explained everything step by step. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a hand surgeon.

Dr. Kim is the most thorough physician. He has now treated two of my children with the utmost of care. He was able to to set my son’s fracture in such a way that surgery was not needed. We are forever grateful! He has helped my younger son through three minor fractures with kindness, humor and compassion. He speaks directly to the kids and makes sure they understand what their injury is and what their treatment and healing will be. I only wish I found Dr. Kim before having surgery on my wrist. If I went to him before, I would never have needed surgery. Dr. Kim fixed my botched surgery. He is extremely knowledgeable, conservative, patient & explains what is wrong & what your options are. Because of a botched surgery I had to go for occupational therapy. The OT is the one who recommended him to me. He is truly a find.

Dr. Kim performed my daughter's hand surgery. He takes a very educated, cautious approach and takes the time to explain everything. He answered every single question that we had throughout the entire process. Not to mention that the hand surgery went incredibly well (better than we had even hoped). We would give Dr. Kim our highest recommendation and would absolutely go back in the event we ever needed an orthopedic hand surgeon again!

I used to see Dr. Kim several years ago. When he left Hackensack to go private my insurance no longer covered him. 2 years later I re-acquainted. I was suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my dominant hand and a trigger finger in the same hand. 2 weeks ago Dr. Kim did surgery on both issues. Dr Kim is a phenomenal surgeon, as well as a very personable, caring physician. He is the third hand surgeon that I have had experience with, and I can honestly say he is by far the finest that I have encountered. He has done numerous surgeries on me, and each one has been very successful, as well as pleasant. His staff at Vanguard is top notch, extremely professional and very solicitous. We saw Dr. Kim in the emergency room when my son ripped his finger. He left the hospital and returned just to treat my son. That is something that i will forever be grateful for. Not even after returning to the hospital was he unpleasant. Dr. Kim was extremely nice, friendly, professional and easy to talk to. Dr. Kim treated me for removal of a very large and painful ganglion cyst that I'd had nearly 15 years, and had drained multiple times. I was petrified of general anesthesia. After an initial consultation, he told me he would remove it with local THAT FRIDAY! I have no idea why I waited so long. 1 year later, I'm cyst free with full range of motion in my fingers and wrist, and no pain! Professional and personable.

I recently had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, one in December, the other just completed in early February. Dr. Kim performed both procedures, and I'm feeling so much better already. I've been under his care for about a year now and his knowledge, expertise and bedside manner are nothing short of incredible. Being a musician (pianist), I was skeptical of surgery, but Dr. Kim made me extremely comfortable and confident that it was the right thing to do...and he was right. He is amazing!
