I returned to have surgery with Dr Hess because my past experience was good and I was greeted warmly after a break of 30 years. Dr Hess is very personable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Everything was very well explained beforehand and I have received great follow-up.

After 15 years post mastectomy, I came to Dr. Hess for implant replacement. First, Dr. Hess accepts insurance and Medicare for this!! Not common among plastic surgeons. I had an area that I have been self conscious about for as long as I can remember and made the decision to get it fixed. Dr. Hess was professional, personable, and informative. The experience was very positive and I am more than pleased with the results!!

I recommend Dr. Hess after having breast surgery. He removed my ruptured implants along with the leaked silicon. He then did a lift and re-augmentation with excellent results.

I had Dr Hess perform an upper blepharoplasty. The in office procedure and recovery were both easier and less painful than I imagined. I had minimal bruising and was back to work 8 days later. Dr. Hess was such a wonderful doctor to work with. From the start he made sure that I was comfortable. In March of 2021 I choose to have a breast lift and I am so glad that I did. I felt very insecure, even with my husband, and I hated that my breasts were so saggy. I'm 37, and I have delivered and breastfed four children. Naturally, they all took a toll on my body. Knowing that I was insecure, I wasn't exactly jumping to the chance to show anyone my breasts, but as mentioned above, Dr. Hess was very professional and encouraging. I am a breast cancer survivor. I had been through chemo and a double mastectomy. I sadly had worked with another plastic surgeon in town and my expander got infected. My original plastic surgeon had no sense of urgency and no care. I had to constantly follow up. The treatment of this surgeon pushed for my decision to find a new doctor. I asked many people at the cancer center and hospital and everyone kept sharing the name of Richard Hess. Folks it was a night and day experience. I had interviewed various plastic surgeons but immediately walking into Dr. Hesses office the difference in care was amazing. Dr. Hess is down to earth and caring. Throughout my visits with Dr. Hess and his staff, they were nothing but beyond professional. I'd like to recommend Dr. Richard Hess, an incredible plastic surgeon who operated on my hands three times over the last eight years in Tucson. I was referred to him by a friend whose wife had suffered breast cancer. I was surprised that a plastic surgeon did hand surgery, but I learned that this was common. His operations on me were all very successful. I didn't know how good a doctor he was until I went to the recommended physical therapy after my surgeries. One therapist that I worked with said, "You are very lucky. He's the best hand surgeon in Tucson." The other agreed and added, "Yeah, he ends up fixing lots of other doctors' surgeries. Many times patients have to re-do this (surgery), and are so glad they got him." One of the surgeries on my thumb was pretty complex. He modestly told me that he worked with the innovator of this procedure, and that it more successful than other methods. Dr. Hess' personality (and his staff's) is very friendly and kind, putting people at ease.

I saw Dr. Hess for eyelid surgery. I opted to have the procedure done in his office, rather than a surgery center. Dr. Hess and his staff made me feel comfortable the entire time. I followed his advice to the letter post surgery and had very little swelling or bruising. I've already recommended him to several people I know! I wouldn't hesitate at all to see him for other things.

My experience with Dr. Hess and his office was honestly the best I could ever have wanted! Everyone at his office is welcoming and courteous, and of course he is an absolute pleasure to work with! Everything was so straightforward, from the consult to the pre-surgical appt, and my surgery went so smoothly. I couldn't be happier with my new C cup, lifted breasts!! I met Dr Hess the first time when referred to him my dermotolgist for a skin melanoma on the back of my leg. He did a fabulous job and I have no scar showing. Dr. Hess did a 'thumb transplant' for my husband, who 'hates' doctors. It was so successful, that as soon as he recovered from the first, he went right back and had the other thumb done. He had full function of both thumbs without pain!
