I suffered from anxiety so bad I wouldn't leave my home I thank God for this man who saved my life 40 years ago and I am still going strong. This is the greatest doctor and I would love to see him again but I live in San Francisco. Miss him

They have been there for us! Dr. Farmer is a kind, sweet Doctor and Katie is a jewel. I thank God for him. He is now retired.

The absolute BEST! The word Hero is an understatement for this man's legacy! Total opposite of pill pushers! And he cares! And the accusations are beyond laughable. Most professional doctor I've ever met in TN! Patients know the truth. He is the last of a dying breed of genuine psychiatrist and people are suffering now all because of lies. Praying for the truth to come out quickly! And his good name be cleared! This man deserves a medal for all the wonderful things he has done for society And the thousands of lives that he has saved! I initially really liked Dr. Farmer. He spent at least 1.5 hours with me during the first visit and easily an entire hour every visit after that. I became concerned around the 3rd or 4th visit. He seemed to not have any idea of one patient to the next. I spent the first 30 minutes reminding him of my history and which medications he was prescribing to me. I compare this man to Hugh Freeze. He was a great psychiatrist but couldn't handle the temptation. He didn't watch out enough closely for those narcs that probably set him up.

Dr.farmer saved my life I have been going to him since 2016 he has never pushed any pills or sex favors on me he has done nothing but help me I will truly miss him as my doctor he made sure I got my vivitral shot so I don't relapse I wish you the best and Katie you are the best keep your heads up you helped so many people

There aren't enough words to describe the amount of care and positive direction we've had with Dr. Farmer. Katie is kind and attentive each time we've called as well.

Dr Farmer would listen to me which is, I feel , the important aspect of therapy. A mild mannered gentleman, erudite, intelligent and most important caring. I can only say great things of him and his staff.

Hands down the best Psychiatrist You could ask for. He's so easy to talk to and his office is very down to earth and comfortable. Really couldn't ask for better. And his receptionist Katie is so sweet and helpful. They care about you and your well being. Highly recommend.

Dr. Farmer saved my life. I am a bi polar one with severe PTSD ADHD and debilitating anxiety. We have one hour of psychotherapy once a month. I've never been treated any way except respectfully and very well cared for. They are like family. Kady is the best and Dr Farmer is a savior.

I am alive today because of Dr. Farmer's amazing heart. Stories of growth and healing, the helpless battling addiction or suffering from mental illness saved by his hands seem to be curtained by distortion of truths. Dr. Farmer’s patients know his heart and healing capabilities. Family, kind, enormous heart, healing, warmth, trust, compassion, generosity, life saver, father figure, love. Common themes heard from Dr. Farmers patients. In fact, as my ten yr + as a patient, I never heard so much as heard a negative murmor from a patient. Waits over two hours maybe, nobody complained, when you needed those extra hours he was there. It was a give and take understanding Dr. Farmer specializes in addiction treatment, pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy He doesn't write you a script and send away, he gets to the core and heals from the inside out. He is considered the best psychiatrist in the city, midsouth and the state, at least, amongst many of his peers. Ask anyone in the MidSouth medical community which DR to seek in the frightening, all to common, event where you or a loved one struggling with substances abuse, addiction or mental illness needs help and you’ll hear his name. Ask for the best psychiatrist, you’ll hear Dr. Farmer again and again. I would be willing to bet there aren’t many more with the compassion and warmth of his. He feels like home, along with his assistant Katie, and he will put you on the path to a better life, saving families, jobs, children- everyone and everything commonly lost to addiction of mental illness. He is family. He doesn't spew off words you would find on a pamphlet stapled to your prescription. (Leave this to both authorities, and perhaps worst, irresponsible media, undermining his consistent proven abilities, instead carelessly parroting one-sided blurbs and clips manufactured by misleading press reports and calculated conferences to add some shock to poorly researched, non fact-checked words.) He was a neurologist turned psychiatrist, addiction and anxiety specialist after he lost a young family member to the Addiction war. He has accolades topping few, including starting the first nationwide suicide prevention hotline. He is an 82 year old genius withanks a heart of gold. I've gotten to know Dr. Farmer well over the years. From the first appointment where he stayed in his office after hours on a Friday night, him chatting so brilliantly candid, until he knew I was safe. I've spent many hours with him over the years, casual drop in's because he wanted to know I was ok. Calls from his cell to check in. He 'd answer any time of day or night. I remember calling him on Christmas-he stepped away from his family to take my call. I can't even tell my child I am going to see him, because he wants to tag along. Dr. Farmer's warmth is genuine and contagious. Dr. Farmer operates on a higher level than anyone I've met. He doesn't practice in a, "if you're going to do it, do it at home" manner, although his treatment is outside of the box. It works and I am one of the devestated patients, fearful of relapse into sickness. He is a professional and he always put me and my family first. He is unconventional, he is a healer, he is wise, he is sharp and I am lucky to be a thriving product of his work and generosity. What's next? I am a young, attractive female and never received anything other than professional care and respect. I don't have a score to settle, charges to face, etc. I know the truth as each patient does and my truth is I would be in a dark place, if not dead, Without him. He is always in my heart, as is his family, Katie and her family. I am sickened by any push back endured for his helping others, but the truth of it all- he doesn't care what you believe. I have seen Psychiatrists on & off throughout the years, & I felt as if I was being tossed around & never did I have someone who actually knew who I was, I was just a name on a file. When I first visited Dr. Farmer, the kindness of Katie, saying she is his assistant just doesn't do sufficient justice as she is so much more, was overwhelming to me. Katie was in fact the reason I went to see Dr. Farmer in the first place as her warmth & genuine care eminated over the phone when I first called. Upon arriving, I knew that this wasn't like all the previous therapists I had tried. Several years later, knowing Dr. Farmer & the love, compassion, kindness & all of the issues I struggled for years with, he has helped me through all of it as well as the issues that I am working on & those that I will encounter. Dr. Farmer & Katie aren't just an office, they are a family that I feel so fortunate to have found. There have been times that I sincerely needed him, & Katie & he have always made the time to fit me in even if the schedule was packed. I feel like a person, I'm no longer a name on a file folder. They both have saved me from so much, and after being at whits end seeking out a therapist who cared, I was fortunate enough to find them. Dr Farmer saved my life and my marriage. I was a little apprehensive at first going to Dr Farmer I figured he'd just be another quack telling me I needed an antidepressants. I've been seeing farmer since 2012. I had recently gone through a very distressing emotional mental break. They diagnosed me with bipolar 2 and told me that the doctor I went to go see before him put me on were bad for me to take. Because I've had a head injury I should not take any of the antidepressants. The warmth I felt from him and Katie was not comparable to any other doctor I've ever been to. It took a few months to find the right medication. We finally found it and it is working like a charm for me. me and my family are forever in his debt. I have seen Dr. Farmer on and off for roughly 18 years. Dr. Farmer and Katie are like family to me, as several others have also noted. I credit Dr. Farmer for saving my life on more than one occasion, and even sent him an invite to my wedding in which I also thanked him for helping me achieve the successes I had. Truthfully, although he and I just have a Doctor - patient relationship, our sessions were so warm that I harbor much love for the man, as I would a father. Finding all these glowing reviews is bittersweet. Dr. Farmer is such an amazing psychiatrist that he makes you feel like he really cares for you! Coming here, I have found that he has done that for all of his patients! Everything that I wanted to say has been said here, multiple, multiple times. Dr. Farmer and his assistant, Katie are irreplaceable. My whole family is mourning this situation! I love Dr. Farmer and his amazing staff especially Katie with all my heart because they truly and wholeheartedly care about me and all their patients like we are actual people that need help instead of just another number like the NUMEROUS doctors I've had in the past! I honestly never believed there was a loving, compassionate doctor like Dr. Farmer that truly goes above and beyond to make sure his patients are well cared for and comfortable under his care! He is always available any and every time I've needed him and he never leaves you feeling neglected or lost! I've truly never had a doctor that cares so much about my wellbeing and health!
