Called and asked if accepting new patients and was told yes. They asked who my insurance was. After I told them, they said they were not accepting new patients with that insurance. When I asked what the problem was with the insurance, they told me there was no problem, that they just weren't accepting new patients with that insurance at this time. Would give me no other reason. When I asked about making an apptmt and just paying for it myself, I was told no, I couldn't do that, that if I had insurance, I had to use it. What a joke! My first time here and it was a great experience! I had no idea what I was walking into as far as treatment for pain in my feet. Well, Im not typically afraid of needles, but I have heard how bad the shots in the feet hurt and when he told me he needed to give me one, I was freaking out! He was the absolute nicest doctor I have come across and made sure I was completely comfortable. He made the process so much easier than I thought it would be and I appreciate him so much! So I went to my family dr who referred me to a podiatrist due to a bunion. There are 2 podiatrists close to where I live so I called 1 and they were not accepting new patients. I called the other and they couldn't get me in until 2 months later. I saw good reviews for Dr Chwastiak so I called him even though his office was a bit of a drive. They were able to get me a next day appointment! I got there and the receptionist was very nice. I was taken right back to the exam room and Dr Chwastiak came in one minute later. He was so nice. He made me feel at ease... That is until he told me I needed an injection into my bunion. He saw I was nervous about this and reassured me it wouldn't be that bad. I said to him "I wish I had someone here so I could hold their hand" (yes I am a baby when it comes to needles) so what does he do? Goes and gets his receptionist to come hold my hand. She was absolutely cool about it and made small talk so to distract me. Truth is I didn't even need her.. he froze it first so it didn't hurt at all! And he told me to call them in a week to let them know how I am doing. I've known Dr Chwastiak all my life. He has treated my grandmother, my mother,my son and myself. I would recommend him to anyone if they needed a podiatrist for any reason. He is a wonderful happy man and very good at his work. Love him.
