Dr. Richard Vance Austin

Hard to believe nothing has changed since the one star review by April Smith 3 years ago but I had the exact same experience today. Sad situation. One hour and forty five minute visit for about two minutes of actual work. Almost all story telling. I won’t be going back.

This office and everything in it is a time capsule from 1980. The tools are extremely old and outdated. I highly doubt the accuracy and safety of the X-ray machine & the grip test. I feel robbed of an actual adjustment and was told I needed xrays for the additional $59 when the $55 exam was about 15 seconds long, most of the exam was talking. I was also told I needed to come back the next day for 10 minutes for another adjustment that would cost me an additional $35. It seems like the patients are few and far between so they up charge as much as they can. The Dr. is nice but likes to talk about irrelevant topics and this makes the appointment last much longer than necessary (over an hour appt.) He also has very limited movement and takes a while to get around the small room (just an observation). Building has a musty smell & a possible mold issue. The receptionist was nice. The atmosphere was very cold, outdated & awkward. I should’ve trusted my gut on this and left before I spent a lot of money for no relief. I went to Dr. Austin's office when I found out he was in my insurance network. I was hardly able to move and he was able to fit me in his schedule. He took great care in helping me be able move again.

I moved to California and needed a chiropractor. The Chiropractor I used to visit really cracked your back, you could feel it pop. The first time I visited Dr. Austin he was very gentle and I thought That didn't do anything, but later I realized it did!! Yeah he's that good. You can't feel it go back into place, but as your back recovers you will know he does a great job. He is the second Chiropractor that I can genuinely say has saved my back through times that I have really messed it up.
