Dr. Ricardo Vargas

Dr. Vargas and K. Tucker are great but the rest of the staff and billing as Novant are horrible. I came in for a routine physical which is covered at 100% by my health plan and this office took it upon themselves without letting me know what they were doing and had not one but two lab tests done on a condition. The first one would have been covered but they had another one conducted and never told me or at least said that we feel need to conduct another one, and we wanted you to know that your health plan may or may not cover it. Are you ok with that? No, instead, they had the 2nd lab test done, my health plan covered some of it and Novant passed the rest to me to pay. This is the exact reason why America does not trust this current healthcare system in the United States and why going forward, all of my care will be with the VA. I disputed the charge. My healthcare company agreed that it was handled poorly by my doctor's office and covered the remaining portion but the whole time, Dr. Vargas' office and Novant refused to write off their poor handling of this claim. If you can avoid this office and Novant altogether, please do so. I have been in insurance and healthcare for a long time. I know what goes on in these offices and when it comes to coding and billing, let's just say, things are not always done fairly. This case is a perfect example. Dr. Vargas and K. He is my primary doctor and he is excellent very caring and compassionate. all the staff are very professional. is my doctor!

He's the best doctor I have seen. He treats you like a friend or family which is important when you're sick. I use to dread going to see a doctor before I met Dr.Vargas and his staff. They always have a smile for you and a great attitude. Dr.Vargas has made my quality of life better. He's not just a wonderful doctor but a wonderful man. He even goes on mission trips to poor countries where a lot of people can't afford to go to the doctor. I have and still do recommend him to friends and family. He's the best doctor I have seen. Dr Vargas was the physician on call when my pharmacist called. The pharmacy did not have the antibiotic ointment that had been prescribed for my infected eye and the pharmacist needed verbal approval to substitute a different antibiotic. Dr Vargas refused to speak with the pharmacist and told the nurse to relay the message that it was not urgent and we needed to call back during business hours! Antibiotics for a painful, infected eye is NOT URGENT?

I've been seeing Dr. Vargas for several years and literally through thick and thin! I'm thankful to be alive against the odds and I'm thankful to have such a great Dr to help me climb each mountain I have and probably will have to face!

He is the best Doctor I have ever had. He is knowledgeable, caring, respectful and has a calm demeanor. His staff is excellent, and they mirror his professional attributes. If you are looking for family practice Doctor, you should choose him!

Very disappointed in Dr.Vargas. I came to him a few years ago over his reviews, & liked him as he took time with me. BUT here is my issue (& I waited to make this this review after writing a formal complaint and was ignored). IF YOU SUFFER FROM MIGRAINES LISTEN UP..... YOU WILL BE SCREWED OVER AT THIS OFFICE. They will play the blame game & say it is the insurance Company charging you, but rest assure, it is this office. They treat your migraines like an illness. So, if you go in for your wellness and even mention your migraine, you will be charged TWICE. Once for wellness, once for a sick visit. *MOST* doctors do not do this (I have had many doctors, and I called the Ins Company), but Vargas is greedy and charges you TWICE. He will say it is not his fault but the Ins company, but the Ins has no choice when the dr charges. He also makes you jumps through hoops for the medication you need which also ends up costing you dearly $$$$, and it is not necessary!!! Dr. Vargas is the best!

Always takes the time to listen to my health issues and responds with a common sense first approach.

Best primary care doctor I've had. Makes sure to get you to the right specialists for difficult issues. Also takes the time to listen to his patients.

My son, daughter and I have been seeing Dr Vargas for 10 years. He has always been supperb. Never rushed busy or late.

A "genuine" healthcare professional who earned my confidence and respect early on.

I am living in this state since 2014 and I had bad experiences with otehr doctors here but when I wwent with Dr Ricardo Vargas I felt like in home! He is thhe best doctor ever for me , even he is a very very busy doctor I wonder why ..... He is so good in his diagnostics or diagnosis sorryif my english is not too god ..I am peruvian living in this blesses country for 16 years and one of my best blessing s is to have a Dr Ricardo Vargas like my primary doctor .. I highly recomend him

Extremely upset with this office I call to speak to a nurse and after 10 minutes of holding I speak to a lady and guess what she never calls me back! I didint waste my time for nothing there was a reason I called... they have lost me as a patient.. And this wasn't the only reason just very unpleased.

Dr. Vargas is the best. He is very good and very very nice!!!!

I went to see Dr. Vargas with my son and I was impressed with his patience and kindness. Most impressive were his listening skills. I'm switching my whole family to him.

Dr Vargas is awesome. He takes time to listen and help you. He is very genuine and makes you feel very comfortable to talk to him about your health concerns.
