I think he's in general one of the more caring and professional doctors I've met by a long shot. Especially compared to the other doctors who accept Medicare. In that regard I give him 5 stars. That being said I also feel like he may be jaded by previous bad patients. I have a combination of 3 back injuries and at a few early points while still helpful he implied I was exaggerating even though it took all of my effort to even arrive at his office. Since then he has been working very hard to work on my condition.

Dr. Ghorbani was recommended by my family Dr. who stated he was very highly regarded in the medical community. My experience has all been positive. I see the Dr. every visit. My visits are as long as they need to be. If all is going well I don't need more time than a brief check in and if I have concerns we spend as much time discussing as needed. I have never felt I was being charged for unnecessary office visits, diagnostic procedures or treatments. If you are just looking for medication, this is not the practice for you. If you want comprehensive treatment you have to be prepared to make the commitment to your care. Chronic Pain is a complex diagnosis. My daughter Alyssa suffered from an extreme disorder known as CRPS and required large doses of medication over 14 years. Her pain Dr. Went to another area of medicine so Alyssa ‘found’ this man Ghorbani. Shortly into the relationship he contradicted his original promise to not abandon her and would ‘be there’ for her regarding the medication Methadone. He lied and told her that he would reduce the dosage dramatically, knowing her pain was increasing existentially. On January 16 I drove her to his office in Greenbelt Md. She begged him to not reduce the dosage and ultimately refused to continue seeing her. Unbeknownst to me she at that fateful time, my only daughter was additionally suffering from Covid-19, double pneumonia and suffering from 2 weeks of withdrawal from Methadone. Any pain doctor knows that sudden withdrawal can be fatal. The next afternoon Alyssa was seen by Doctor Abraham Cherrick, one of the top in pain management. He prescribed her normal dosage and was visibly shaken by Ghorbani’s abandonment and dismissal. I drove her to the pharmacy and they filled the Rx. ( Alyssa was living in our family home during a contentious divorce from a husband who has no soul ) We returned home and were thankful she had re-discovered Dr.Cherrick. My daughter went to bed where she died from all her complications. I’ve since discovered that this “Dr.” Has a record of multiple incidents of practicing without a license and I have an ongoing action against him. DO NOT put you life or wellbeing in the filthy, unethical hands of this despicable human being. I think Dr. Ghorbani is very unprofessional I went to him first came to town and he did a procedure and I am losing control on my left side I was told he burnt my sciatic nerve when I went back to him he ignored the hell out of me I think you should be investigated because he’s taking a vantage of Black people and senior citizens I have worked in healthcare for 35 years I have worked in the OR I had never seen a doctor with that type of attitude when you first came to town was on channel 4 news Talking about how good he is and this and that and everything he said he has not he’s making it very bad for other pain management doctor and some good pain management doctors in the state of Maryland I know because I had to go to half a dozen just to correct his mistake which I am still going to paint and I’m talking 12 years I think Dr. Ghorbani is very unprofessional I went to him first came to town and he did a procedure and I am losing control on my left side I was told he burnt my sciatic nerve when I went back to him he ignored the hell out of me I think … More

I am posting this poor review based on my dad's personal experience, who is a senior, and saw Dr. Ghorbani for just two visits. He would have given this a zero star if feasible. Per my dad, both of his visits were extremely rushed. Dr. Ghorbani rushed into the room, rushed through my dad's questions and had little time to walk my dad through his recommendations. Dr. Ghorbani was out of the patient room in less than five minutes. My dad told the front desk that he didn't want a follow-up appointment after having experienced such a lack of attention and care, but they scheduled one anyways. They said that urine tests are mandatory every visit, and the no show fee is astronomically high. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience and needless to say, my dad will not be returning nor recommending him to family or friends. Dr. Ghorbani is very easy to talk with, he explains things very well, listens and gives you a chance to talk or ask questions. I am very fortunate to have been under his care. The shots in my back that were done by him has worked remarkedly well. I had been given these shots by another Dr. several times without success, so I am very grateful. Love the staff!! I have a been patient since 2018 and I have been seeing Dr. Ghorbani for pain management. I would recommend this practice.

I have been seeing Dr.Ghorbani and his physician assistants and I couldn't be any happier with my experience with the practice as a whole. The office staff goes above and beyond for their patients. Would highly recommend APMI.

They are very understanding and willing to work with you.

Positive experience until I tried to schedule an appointment for a second injection and was told that the provider did not indicate that this was my next step. They wanted me to come back in the office to do what I had already done with the provider. Called staff and did did not receive a call back. Called again and that's when it was obvious that what I was verbally told was not what the provider had written. Very frustrating interaction which should have been simple process.

APMI does a good job of providing everything you need to be taken care of.

Dr. Ghorbani and the APMI staff is very professional and the staff is very courteous. Would highly recommend to others.

I have had a very good experience at this practice. Ms. Monica is an excellent provider, she provides a very personalized service, I can even request a call from her and she always returns my calls and my son's.

APMI makes it feel like I am a part of the family, they are professional and the staff is outstanding. Vanessa and Ayisha are the best receptionist and make you feel welcome every visit.

I have no issues with APMI, the staff is very helpful and providers are attentive to the needs of the patients.

i have been with this practice for years and i trust and think he really cares about his the people he sees. and helps with my pain.

What I like best about APMI is that it offers a full range of services - injections, physical therapy, orthopedic doctors, and prescriptions (as needed). They are focused on providing options for reducing pain and being able to participate fully in life. The staff is friendly, professional, concerned and expert. The physical therapy area is new and fully equipped with a wide range of options. Unlike other PT places I've been to, APMI PT sessions usually have only a few clients at a time and I get lots of one on one time with the therapist. The epidural injections are done with the option to put the patient under during the procedure. This makes the experience a pleasure instead of one that I would dread because of the pain. Highly recommended!

My experience with Dr.Ghorbani has been fantastic. His bedside manner was great.

You’ll make an appointment to see him, but be warned you’ll never have an office visit with him personally. If that matters to you, then don’t go here. Now, depending on how ethical you are. The next part of the review will either bother you or not. 1. Mandatory blood work done before every procedure. When I asked why, first answer I got was to measure the medicine I’m taking he prescribed. When I informed her I don’t take anything from this office. So I’m still not clear as to why it’s being done? 2. Follow-Up Visits: They will tell you “it’s the policy of your insurance to have a follow up visit after every procedure” That’s a lie too. I contacted my insurance and requested what was mandatory. It wasn’t this. If you’re getting steroid injections, they are best when given back to back weekly with a total of 4 before you’ll get results. But this office will give you one, schedule a follow up the next week then schedule the next two weeks later. I suspect this is buying time allowing surgeries for others Is my guess? I have no idea? 3. MRI- They told me they couldn’t do a steroid injection until a recent MRI was done. Guess who requested this? According to them, my insurance. By now, you guessed it! Insurance company put in writing that they don’t have mandatory requirements or testing when it comes to these procedures. Excessive billing again! You guessed it, I had to go in for one of those mystery followup visits to go over my test results that did not change from the last MRI I had the year before. To me it was just a waste of billing. Called today to get my injection because I was told I could. She said, you’ll have to come in for an office visit for the steroid injection on 2/9. Lol we are over 2/9 and into April. I told her, it didn’t work which is why I didn’t want that injection anyway. But the PA insisted. Maybe I care too much about billing and unnecessary charges? Even if I’m not paying directly for them, I still care because that cost trickles down. I miss the days where you meet and visit your doctor. I get that he is busy, but it’s so hands off. I like doctors to remember me between visits, and that won’t happen. As for my pain, it was reduced. So if you get past the office antics, no doctor visits in person then you’ll be fine. Very excellent doctor and staff in Chevy Chase. He has always been honest with me. Tells you what will and want help you. Then go on to the next step.

Language around “mandatory by your insurance” which is a lie. Excessive insurance billing.

I called APMI to schedule an appointment and they got me in the office on the SAME DAY! I was so relieved because my pain was excruciating! Customer service was great!! I have been coming here for a little over a year and a half now. Office is clean and easy to get to. Highly recommend.

I recently visited Dr. Ghorbani’s office to seek treatment for my chronic pain. I experienced the most outstanding service to date. I previously visited other pain management practices and I must say my experience was night and day compared to my experience here. Dr. Ghorbani found a solution for my pain and even provided physical therapy in house! His staff was very friendly and I had no wait time. I enjoyed my experience here so much that I now take my 80 yr old mother to him for treatment.

Was treated for lower back pain, with 2 lumbar steroid injections at the Greenbelt Surgery Center. Friendly staff, nice office and surgical facility ... and no more pain now.

Dr. Ghorbani and staff has been excellent. Very short time to get me in. I highly recommend APMI to anyone.

I was seen by Dr. Ghorbani and staff and they really helped me with my pain, which stemmed from an injury at work 2 years ago. They did a thorough evaluation, were very compassionate, I wasn't just thrown a bottle of pills. I was given options ranging from Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, etc. I absolutely love this place! My life is returning to normal.

He's very detached, unfeeling and completely unsympathetic to pain of his patients, as I have come to learn from at least 3 others who have been to see him. I suppose that's good -- that he's objective, but the people he sees need to see some sympathy or how else is there a bond of trust supposed to form with someone whom you entrust your well being and life to? You can tell that he's not in it for the money more so than anything else. Obvious, but at least show some compassion.

Dr. Ghorbani has given me 2 cervical epidural shots. At visits he stood by the exam door (just inside) and talked to me across the room. He barely touched my neck in the 6 or more times I've seen him. He speaks in a direct and sometimes unfeeling way. He gets very frustrated when you can't come to a follow up exactly 2 wks post epidural. He get's an F- for waiting time. I waited over two hours for exams and for one of my epidural injections. The injections are given in Greenbelt.

My experience was a mixed bag. While Dr. Ghorbani himself is quite competent and approachable, his administrative staff is intolerable. A live person NEVER answers the phone. Their outgoing message instructs you not to leave multiple messages. But my most recent experiences reveal, that if you don't leave multiple messages you will NEVER receive a return call.
