Dr. Rebecca M. Zarko

My daughter saw Dr Zarko when we located her from another state. She was amazing with my 17 year old daughter. My daughter is thriving and living her best life now. Highly recommend her.

Do not recommend.

Do not waste your time on this "Dr." My son was referred to her by his clinical counselor who has spent a lot of time with him who came up with a diagnosis after 12 years. His pediatrician who has been practicing for 40 years came up with the same diagnosis having never even spoken to the clinical counselor. The Developmental Pediatrics department at Akron Children's agreed with both providers. When we saw this Dr. it was obvious from the start she didn't read any of the information contained in the referral. She rushed through the appt, spending more time with my son, actually running over on time, and then rushed me when it was time for us to talk. She would ask questions but would interrupt me and try to finish my sentences. She was dismissive of all the other opinions and even told me she didn't see anything other than MAYBE some defiance. She even went as far as to suggest a provider come to the house, like the show "Super Nanny" and teach me how to parent my child. I was appalled at the lack of compassion and interest. She completely blew us off after wasting weeks waiting to see her and 2 hours in her office. She doesn't care about her patients and it is obvious this case was above her pay grade. I will be filing a complaint with the state medical board as well as the facility. I will also file a complaint with my insurance company. I will never return to this office. She was by far the least professional provider I have seen. She was even short with my son and made him feel uncomfortable, and she works with children. This is not acceptable! Dr. Zarko is very effective and she does a great job helping my child. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Zarko, as far as I can find out, is the only psychiatrist willing to work with young children in several counties. So she works fast when seeing a child and parents. But as far as I’m concerned she does a terrific job. We have a terrible mental health crisis in our area, with so few providers. Dr. Zarko is a hero.

I would never subject anyone I know to the personality of this person. Worst doctor I have ever dealt with.

I would never, ever recommend Dr. Zarko to ANYONE. She is insensitive, bullying, and belitting, and will not listen to anyone speaking to her. She talks over you, completes your sentences and wears you down until you just agree with what she says. My family member is actually worse for the wear after a visit with Zarko.
