Dr. Rebecca E Barrington

I have a rare lymphoma and was initially treated at MD Anderson. Dr. B was kind enough to co-manage me along with MD Anderson. In Feb of this year, 2023, I had an insurance change, Dr. Barrington agreed to accept me as a personal patient. She is a VERY understanding oncologist, she listens, provides quality care and most importantly that personal touch that we often see lacking in todays physicians. I strongly recommend her as an oncologist.

Dr. Barrington has a way of explaining complex medical diagnosis in a manner that makes sense to us non-medical people. He "bedside" manners are fantastic, and she always takes the time to answer all my questions.

Cares for her patients and does everything in her power to find the problem and curb your fears.

My last office visit to Dr Barrington was a routine visit. The staff accommodated a special request and Dr Barrington was her usual delightful and thorough professional self. It’s a pleasure to be treated by such a customer oriented group.

Dr. Barrington is so loving and caring. Knew first visit she was a perfect fit with my personality. Never wanted to go elsewhere.

Saw Dr Barrington for follow up of treatment and x-rays. she was very through and answered all questions. Dr Barrington is a kind caring person whom I’m glad to have

Since I began seeing Dr. Barrington in December 2022, I have been over-the-top impressed with her and her staff. During my initial appointment, Dr. Barrington took all the time I needed to answer my questions and concerns as well as my husband's questions and concerns. She did not try to rush me through the appointment and is genuinely concerned about her patients and their care. I have found the same genuine concern and care in all of her staff. The nurses are great and make sure that their patients are comfortable and cared for. Texas Oncology in Kerrville is AMAZING!

It's always a pleasure to go to Dr. Barrington's office. She truly cares about you by listening to what you have to say or asking questions.

Family member has progressive Cancer and surgeon referred to Dr. Barrington. The lack of urgency is unacceptable. The person on the other side of the phone was very non-caring and when asked why hasn't any one called about the appointment her response was "they will call you sometime this week". A week can make a difference! No effort nor was there compassionate tone on her voice. MD Anderson is not a wait and find out what to do...they take the reins and lead you on it. (personal experience). But locally is the only option due to the severity of the case and inability to make that drive daily or weekly. Insurance is always an issue and always delays for certification...but when the staff takes their time to make those calls, which only adds to the delay and then their lack of concern only makes this cancer journey that much worse!! I'm sure the Physician is good, but getting to the point of that first visit is frustrating/unacceptable for those patients that hours and days COUNT.

I have been a patient for several years and every visit has been outstanding. Dr. Barrington is not only an exceptional doctor but she always make a person they are special and always make me feel I am getting outstanding care.

Dr. Barrington is a great listener and makes you feel right at home with her. She seems to enjoy being with you even though sometimes she has to tell you unpleasant news. She is very highly regarded by everyone I know who has ever had any type of interaction with her. We are very fortunate to have her here in Kerr County.

Dr. Barrington is very caring She listens to you and is most helpful in her answering of questions and information.

I see Dr. Barrington once a year now, after having treatment for breast cancer in 2014. I see the NP once a year as well. Dr. Barrington gives her patients her full attention & is interested in their lives. She assisted me in getting through my treatment as a professional with extremely good bed side manners. I will always recommend Dr. Barrington to anyone in need of an oncologist.

I love Dr. B, she is caring, loving, direct and simply a wonderful doctor.

Great Doctor, with excellent communication skills. Dr. Barrington easily communicates complex issues in plain English. She is tops in my book. Plus, she's always friendly and has a wonderful sense of humor which is nice when we are facing such a terrible disease.

Dr Barrington is awesome in the way she explains things. She is incredibly knowledgeable.

Dr. Barrington is a fantastic doctor. Caring, compassionate, takes the time to visit with you on a personal level, and will answer all your questions, even questions you didn't know you had. Very grateful to have her as my oncologist.

Dr. Barrington is a wonderful doctor, and person. She has always been a caring and compassionate person. I feel Kerrville is lucky to have a doctor like her.

Dr. Barrington always has a smile on her face when she comes into the room. She listens to what you have to say and she answers any questions that you might have. She always asks about my husband since he was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks before I was.

All the staff but the front receptionist is friendly and kind. Receptionist always has a mean look upon her face. She is not welcoming and even comes across as being rude. I have taken many of my patients here for their appointments and that is what we are recieved with every time. At least smile sometimes

Dr. Barrington is caring and knowledgeable. She has reviewed my test results with me & explains information to me so that I can understand. The plan of care is also reviewed so I know what to expect and I can make informed decisions. I appreciate the care that she has provided for me.

My own personal experience with Dr.Rebecca Barrington is she is very sweet, caring, professional with her patients. She does everything in her authority to give you the number one treatment for your type of cancer. Her PA is out of this this world as well. Her crew from insurance to nurses are all sweet caring. They helped me during my chemo, my mother chemo and was there to help anyway needed when my mom passed away. In my opinion Dr. Barrington is as close to perfect as a doctor can be. Her skill and professionalism stand out and are obvious. For me the difference is her compassion and listening skills. Her job is extremely difficult but I have observed many times over the decade, she has been my doctor, how she lifts her patients up, encourages them despite what their circumstance might be. Over the years I have heard her patients tell me how great she is, how she has gone beyond what could be expected to assist them. A theme is how she puts her patients first, always self-sacrificing. I love her for the person she is, that is so much more than the magnificent doctor that she is and she is the best. In my mind her only fault is that there are not a dozen little Dr. Barringtons to carry on who she is. Her patients are truly blessed. and I refer her to those in a situation where they need the best. She is a gem of great value.

Dr. B is the kindest and most caring doctor I have ever been too. Her time with you is never rushed and she always has a smile. She is able to share good news and bad news with us in a way that is truthful yet caring and always hopeful. Needless to say I love Dr. B and her staff. The staff makes all my treatments enjoyable and not sad.

I have been a patient for almost 20 years and Dr. Barrington is always kind, helpful, honest, funny, and personable. she comes highly recommended from other doctors and i trust her care completely. she is a treasure.

Today was not unlike any other during the last 8+ years. I have always been treated great by all of the people at this office. I would highly recommend Dr. B to anyone dealing with cancer. The only thing I wish could happen is more interaction with Dr. B. But I know she is taking great care of people that need her more than I do. I have been I remission for 6+ years because of what Dr. B did for me. She truly CARES for everyone in her care.

I could not expect more than the care I receive from Dr. Barrington. She answers all questions fully, and always provides straight answers. Her manner is always pleasant.

Dr Barrington is exceptionally caring and personable. The visit is a yearly checkup after having breast cancer. She discussed my blood work and confirmed all the things I should continue doing to stay healthy.

Dr Barrington has an incredible mix of compassion and professionalism. She had been a champion and encourager for my recovery and success??

Outstanding Doctor. I a transplant patient with diabetes and require a lot of care. My First Visit to Dr. Barrington was just wonderful. She is one of your crown jewels! I love to go to her appointments! She is so warm and caring and with her I feel like family. When in treatment, she has a marvelous way of communicating technical information at your technical level - as a scientist, I appreciated her facility in educating me as to what was going on and not talking down to me. I absolutely LOVE everything about her and staff! Going through the C thing is hard enough but when you have a caring doctor and staff who are all knowledgeable on everything from treatments to dealing with insurance companies, it makes the load lighter

Had my first visit today with Dr. Barrington. I was so nervous and a little frightened but she put me at ease right away, explained in detail what her concerns were and how she wanted to approach them. Superior hematologist/oncologist. So fortunate to have her in Kerrville!

Front office staff is very rude and uncaring. Always have a chip on their shoulder about something. Seem to forget they are dealing with real people, let alone cancer patients. Would not recommend going here at all.

Dr Barrington was extremely attentive to my needs and physical condition. She monitored my situation with care and made me feel as if I was the only patient she had at that moment. She obviously knew what she was doing and her clinic staff were very proficient at performing their duties in my treatment.

Front office staff are very rude and uncaring. Always scolding us for one thing or another. Don’t seem to remember how to be civil to people.

I was diagnosed with lung cancer the middle of September 2015 after several months of mis-diagnoses from Kerrville and other hospitals I ended up in Austin at a hospital that found the cancer. I was released and sent to Dr. Barrington for my chemo therapy. She doesn't see you often and when she does she didn't tall me anything. I have finished my Chemo but was told on my last visit that I needed some kind of shot that needed to be approved they still have not called me to schedule anything.

My husband had myeloma. Diagnosed after rushing to SA by ambulance in acute renal failure. Chemo begun ,kidneys saved.Care transferred to Dr. B. She changed chemo steroids from 4 days a week to 1. His light chain cells soared , kidneys failed for good.I had to ASK her to call MDAnderson for help. Steroids came back but it was too late. She sent him to stem cell dr. with no idea of requirements ,but he was too weak. He died and she never came to hospital and we have never heard from her again.

If you are looking for a compassionate and experienced cancer physician, you will find no better. She is my Hero and such a lovely and caring person. I owe my life to her,
