Dr Thal did both of my daughters ACL repairs when she was in high school. She went on to return to playing basketball high school bball (named to the 1st team All-State Team, not sure of any athlete in this area that can say that after having both ACLs torn and repaired) and she went on to play in college. Dr Thal is unique and he genuinely cares about his patients. THANK YOU so much for helping us through those years!

Follow up visit for a meniscus tear in the knee. Dr. Thal took the time to show me the scans & explain treatment options. I liked his conservative approach to treatment instead of jumping into surgery.

Lovely office and efficient staff.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Thal’s for many years. He has repaired both my shoulders and a torn meniscus. I can honestly say I have full mobility thanks to his amazing surgical skills. He is friendly, thorough and answers all my questions . I have recommended him to anyone I know who has had shoulder issues. He is the best.

Dr. Thal has operated on me successfully 3 times in the past. I went for an evaluation of my shoulder and he recommended physical therapy before considering surgery. I trust his judgement and his explanations.

I went to see Dr. Thal for a 3rd opinion on an upcoming rotator cuff repair and he was wonderful. He showed me information on the MRI report. went over my MRI without me asking him to explain things. He was kind and compassionate. I appreciated his willingness to share his opinion and knowledge in a very understandable way. He also went the extra mile in making sure I had an anti-inflammatory to assist me with the pain I was in. Provided a thorough exam. Provided helpful answers and provided 10 useful exercises to perform at home to improve my shoulder condition. I had a good experience with Dr, Thal.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Thal’s for almost 30 years for advanced osteoarthritis. Dr. Thal has kept me active and functioning with a conservative approach (unlike other doctors who were eager for me to have knee replacement when I was in my twenties). Very relaxed and confident

Saw Dr Thal as a second opinion in 2018. So glad I did. He left that practice and I followed. Have seen several other orthopedic doctor's and he is by far the best. No rush to surgery and communicates and explains better than any I have seen. Will continue to see him and recommend him to others. Your practice is lucky to have him.

Dr Thal did a hamstring reconstruction on my ACL 2008 that has stood the test of time (and lots of sports activities)

IV was problematic. Three attempts. First two attempts (both by the same tech/nurse) were far more painful than necessary. Third attempt by a different technician/nurse was quick, easy and almost pain free. Although uncomfortable, the staff handled the situation very well!! Otherwise 5 starts across the bar. Best experience I've had with any doctor at any doctor's office for a very long time. Very quick, efficient, and capable!

Dr Thal and Kayla are the best. Appreciate all they have done to minimize the pain in my left knee.

Kudos to the nursing and medical staff, of which there were many for such a quick surgery. They were thorough, let me know what to expect, and offered suggestions for my well-being after the surgery

It's said that "there is always room for improvement" . . . however, with regard to Dr. Thal and Town Center Orthopedic Associates, can't say that there is any room for improvement! The practice runs like "a well-oiled machine." Great care from great professionals.Five Stars!

My family is very familiar with your office. I appreciated the fact when I called in to make an appointment, that the receptionist said she was sorry that she couldn't get me in that day. So different from the 3 week wait trying to get in to see an orthopedic here in Winchester. Out of all the times I've been in your office, I only had 1 time where I had to wait. Dr. Thal has performed surgery on both of my shoulders. The first surgery was 100% successful so I did not hesitate to use him again for my second surgery. It has been only 10 days since surgery and I understand the long difficult recovery and rehab that goes with this surgery.

I have been seen at the practice several times for various orthopaedic issues, most frequently by Dr. Thal for shoulder issues. I have always found him to be thorough and empathetic regarding the issue prompting my visit and he always has provided me with a detailed plan of action to address my issue. He has performed surgical repairs on both of my shoulders and there is no one else I would go to!

Everyone was pleasant and courteous, from the reception to the medical assistants to the physician. Considering most people are coming to the office with acute injuries and pain this seems like the perfect way to handle the patients.

Dr Thal performed rotator cuff surgery on me in early May. I am nearly fully recovered after phsical therapy, and have close to 100% utilization of my arm with only slight weakness after 4.5 months. Great repair job

Dr. Thal explains everything thoroughly and spends good time with patients. He is willing to accomodate surgery date conflicts and has performed successful surgeries on several of our family members.

Dr. Thal's staff answers my questions in a professional and caring manner since I started my treatment on my knee and shoulder. I feel confident Dr. Thal and staff will continue to provide the best care and recommendations for a speedy recovery.

In this era of money over patient care nad 5min consultation, Dr. Thal stands way above that poor level of treating patients. Dr. Thal is the most caring, and dedicated professional i have ever dealth with in the medical field in the 10 yrs. This is from someone that has multiple medical issues and has run the gamut with doctors in the DMV (including doctors from MGMC and GW). Dr. Thal spent almost 40min with me expaling the injury to my sholder and the non-surgical option that I should look at prior to surgery. He convince me to wait and to try PT and anti-inflamatories. Hands down, Dr. Thal is the best medical specialist I have ever consulted. He inspires trust, he educates the patient, and he delivers Gold Standard professional excellence.

I had a recurrence of an old recreational sport related injury to my shoulder and with just two visits Dr. Thal has successful devised a non-surgical treatment plan that lead to a full recovery allowing me to enjoy playing tennis pain free for almost five more years. And when I managed to re-injure it yet once more again the outcome so far was equally effective and I was back on the courts in a relatively short period of time. Hope I can avoid the surgery all together.

Dr. Thal's office has a new policy in 2018 to try to collect a $200 non-refundable fee up front from every patient, regardless of their insurance or injury. According to the terms of my insurance, Dr. Thal is still an in-network doctor, and I have a $30 copay. Only after I insisted on paying only the copay did his staff finally agree to honor it. I cannot recommend Dr. Thal as long as his office tries to rob patients.

Dr Thal has a pleasant manner and is thorough in his explanation of possible problems with the shoulder joint and corrective measures that can be taken. We did not feel rushed talking to him.

Dr. Thal is an outstanding doctor. He is patient and takes time to answer questions thoroughly. There were no surprises before or after surgery. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Some years ago, Dr Thal helped my son, who was a high school baseball pitcher at the time, with elbow issues. He treated the injury conservatively and Sean made it back to the starting line-up. Dr. Thal is now treating my sore knees, and I trust his advice and care. My experience is that the whole practice is exceptionally well run.

Dr. Thal is one of the best doctors II know. He is compassionate and I would recommend him to friends and family.

We took our 16 year old son to see Dr. Thal about a shoulder injury from basketball. Dr. Thal was great about explaining what the problem was, how the injury would have happened, what all the options were, and his best recommendation. We opted for surgery (to be done next week) to get this taken care of right away before there is more damage.

Currently at 55 minutes past appointment time and no Dr. No explanation from staff, they brush it off like it is normal.

I went to go see Dr. Thal about my Tennis elbow and he was great. He gave me a brace to wear when I worked out and told me to tone it down a bit on the weight. I haven't had any problems since and no longer have to wear the brace after 4 months. He also took the time to look at the bursitis in my hip and treated that for me.

Dr. Thal did reconstructive surgery on my shoulder and did a fantastic job. He was up front and informative on what the issue was and how the procedure would go. The surgery went as smooth as possible and I was able to make a full recovery.

Ray saved my life. Best orthopedic surgeon ever. Years ago, I had a catastrophic bike accident and horrible functionality in my right shoulder/arm. I consulted with 3 orthopedic surgeons. Ray inspired the most confident. We did the operation 3 days later and I started rehab on the fourth day. He called me personally the evening after my surgery to check on me and visited me in PT. My shoulder was 100% within 6 months and is absolutely 100% years later. Ray is top quality!

Dr. Thal was very patient and got the diagnosis correct the first time around. I had injured my knee the previous year, and went to see another specialist who misdiagnosed it. After a year of discomfort, I went to see Dr. Thal and he looked at my knee and knew right away what the issue was.

Dr. Thal fixed a torn meniscus about 10 years ago. I am so confident in his abilities that when I broke my leg in NYC I wouldn't let any doctor there operate. I came back and had Dr. Thal put it back together. His nurse assistant is just as fabulous as he is. There are stars in every profession and Dr. Thal is one of them.
