Dr. Raymond W Kaercher

Went in for a consultation to have my wisdom teeth and a couple of others removed- 6 in total. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. After my consultation with Dr. Kaercher I was given a complete estimate of what it would cost for the procedure and was even able to book the appt right away. I did have to pay a small consultation fee but it was well worth it to get a 360 view of what all is involved with the procedure.

I scheduled my appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed. When I called to scheduled, I was not told there would be a charge for the consultation. When I got a confirmation for my appointment, I was not told there would be a charge for the consultation. When I walked in to get checked in, I was not told there would be a charge for the consultation. Throughout the 40 min appointment, I was not told there would be a charge for the consultation. I was wrong to assume that this business would be like other oral surgeons and offer a free consultation. No one on the staff brought up prices for the consultation or the surgery itself. At the end of my consultation I asked the doctor about pricing and he said someone would speak to me in a moment. I was brought to the front waiting room, not a private room, where the prices were shown to me. $260 for a consultation. And a ridiculous price for two wisdom teeth removals. I sent their bill break down to other oral surgeons and they were in disbelief with the charge for the consultation and the surgery itself. Outrageous charges. What a shame! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed a month ago. When I went in for my consultation, I paid $360 after they did an estimate of how much my insurance would cover. Now, a month later, I receive a bill in the mail for $350. I was shocked. I tried calling their office at 4:40PM and no one answered even though their office hours are open until 5:00. The bill said that I had reached my yearly benefit maximum. When I called Aetna, I asked them if Dr. Kaercher's office should have known that my plan only paid out $1,000 when they estimated that my insurance would pay out $1800. Aetna said that they have no idea where Dr. Kaercher's office came up with the $1800 figure because my yearly maximum benefit is $1,000. I feel like I was tricked into signing the paperwork since they estimated that my insurance would cover so much. Maybe I should have been more aware of my maximum benefit, but I suppose I thought I could trust that they would do their job and give me a more accurate estimate. My daughter has her wisdom teeth removed and from the first visit to the day of surgery, the entire office and dental staff were AMAZING! The Dr even called me on the Sunday following her Friday surgery to see how she was doing, asking if I had any questions or concerns. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kaercher and AOSH.

After experiencing a horrible nightmare back at Keepers Gentle family dentistry (Tovar) the only one who cared and helped me was Dr. Kaercher. He helped my infection go away and my swelling. He was nice and made sure I was okay. The staff was so very professional and made sure I always left with all questions answered.

Dr. Kaercher and the team that he employees are amazing. First off, the Dr. is one of the most personable individuals you will ever meet. I once went about a year between seeing him and he remembers my wife, my job and even the petty things I may have been complaining about in small talk from the previous visit. He seems to truly care about you as a patient but also treats you as a friend and I never feel that he is "above" me as an individual. He also does great work and I have never had extended pain or discomfort, in fact I would say I have had less pain then what was expected for a typical operation. Secondly, the staff he employees is equally as great. For instance, recently, I had an issue with my insurance company not wanting to pay for a rather large operation. My insurance company (not the Dr. office) sent me a letter explaining why they were not going to cover it. I made contact with the team here (I was not so nice in the email but I was in an angry moment sorry!) and they gave me a very professional response and said they were going to go to bat for me. Sure enough, they did what they set out to do and my insurance company paid their due as originally planned. Honestly, this is the second time this team has went to bat for me and when I have a general concern, especially about something like insurance, they truly listen and try to help. Dr. Kaercher is one in a million. He's one of those doctors that you will always remember for all the good reasons. He is very nice, well mannered, professional, patient, engaging and so down to earth. He treats you more like a friend than a patient. He, himself called me the day after my procedure to check on me. What doctor does that??? His staff is incredible too, especially Juanita and Roxanne who I had interaction with. I wish all doctors had the kind of respect Dr. Kaercher has for his patients. He's also a big soccer fan. Dr. Kaercher is one in a million. He's one of those doctors that you will always remember for all the good reasons. The doctor must have been too good to speak to us. My son is eight years old and they made us drop him off in the chair and leave the room. The woman that was there did not identify her role..... I didn't know who she was or what she does there. I'm not even sure who did the peocedure or if the doctor was even there! Upon discharging my son, I know the side effects of the meds as I am a doctor myself, she said he might vomit. They didn't give him anything for nausea, so he vomited all over the car and house. When I asked for a prescription for nausea, the unidentified lady told me the dr doesn't usually give scripts for nausea. Whenever I do procedures,especially on children, I make sure I communicate with family. So disheartening. Not all doctors are like this. The doctor must have been too good to speak to us. I had my wisdom teeth removed here. The doctor and staff were great!! I had a great experience . Recovery was even better than expected.
