Dr Hellams has been my doctor for more than 17 years; he started seeing me before he started private practice in Manakin-Sabot. Dr. Hellams is a caring physican who takes TIME to know and treat his patients, always giving them the best of his knowlwdge. He's not afraid to refer you to a specialist when necessary and works with that referred doctor to help provide the best treatment possible. To me he is everything an excellent doctor should be, NO assembly line practice here. He is a fine doctor, a good man & an example for all doctors. Dr Hellams has been my physican for more than 17 years. He is an excellent doctor, always taking time to talk with me about what's going on to get a full picture of my problem; NO assembly line rushing to see the most people in a day. Dr Hellams is the best doctor I've ever had; I am 62 years old, I am thankful every day.

Dr Hellams is my favorite G.P. I have ever had. He gives it to you in a straight forward, but compassionate manner, while still retaining the ability to call a spade a spade. You do not have to make well patient appointments weeks in advance, I think that if anyone deserves a review from the heart, it is Dr Hellams. It is a small practice with a very country feel to it, it where everyone is on a first name basis. This adds to the charm he has over the sterile clinical feel at other larger family practices where an appointment made a month in advance literally gets you seen for 2 minutes by a Doctor that cant recall your name without referencing your chart, much less ask how your family is. If you like the way family practices used to be before you became just a number on the outside of a manilla file folder, make an appointment with Dr Ralph Hellams at the Family Practice of Manakin-Sabot. Dr. Ralph Hellam is a wonderful doctor! He is very attentive and takes the time to listen to my concerns. I absolutely love being his patient and highly recommend him!!
