Dr. Ralph Anthony Gambardella

This doctor is a joke. He doesn't even see patients. When you call to schedule an appointment with him they tell you will be seeing Dr. Gambardella. When you come to appointment an Hindi INTERN comes in and does exam. Either Dr. Gambardella is too old or just incompetent. Find another doctor waste of time to see a dippy intern or resident. The intern doesn't even know the anatomy of body. Scary!

Had 2 operations on my right knee with Dr.Gambardella. He is an all-star in the world of sports medicine and surgery. He constantly is asking questions as to how I feel or wish to enhance my rehabilitation and always provides concrete guidance and what similiar cases like mine have faced and conquered. Owe this man alot.

Blown away by Dr. Gambardella's personal touch. (Ralph A. Gambardella, MD, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics in Los Angeles near 405 and Howard Hughes Parkway.) He treats pro athletes and other high-profile clients. So, having a doctor that is in demand treat me like I am important, and fit me in his busy schedule, meant a lot to me. (This was in stark contrast to popular Torrance-based sports medicine elbow surgeons. I called several but none of them would fit me in their schedules for over a month. I described my injury and that based on a family doctor's opinion, it needed surgery right away. So, I will never contact another Sports medicine doctor in Torrance again. It was a blessing because I got a way better surgeon. I don't write bad reviews, so I am only doing this comparison to show how awesome you are treated at Kerlan-Jobe.) A friend told me about Kerlan-Jobe and how great they are. I had no idea before going that they were so popular. When I told the receptionist over the phone of my injury, she said come in right away. Dr. Gambardella squeezed me in his schedule at the end of the day on a Friday, I think. Then, he sent me downstairs to MRI same day, called me back same day when MRI results were in, and tentatively scheduled surgery in a week. Surgery was a week after the first appointment--amazing. Minimally invasive surgery left behind only ultra-thin small scars -- 1 1/4 inches in bend of elbow so completely unnoticed and about 3 inches near elbow along bottom of forearm. I have several sports injuries and scars, so it means a lot when I say hardly noticeable. Doctor threaded some kind of surgical string through holes drilled in radius bone and tied it to distal bicep tendon...I think. My Distal bicep tendon ruptured 100% per the MRI--I had no use of my bicep. Now, a year later, I have unrestricted use of my bicep, as far as I can tell. I take it easy, just in case, but I can do normal pull-ups and things just as before. If it wasn't for the staff at Kerlan-Jobe and Dr. Gambardella, my bicep would have atrophied within weeks. I am extremely grateful. Perfect surgery for something that could have been very problematic. Super high-quality service every time. No issues with insurance billing. Staff was nice. Frankly, total excellent treatment at a doctor's office is uncommon. Dr. Gambardella was very service orientated, very personable and informative. Best surgeon in my book. I've experienced 2 surgeries now with Dr Gambordella. Right knee minesctomy and right shoulder rotator cuff repair. My left knee is relatively pain free compared to what we started with and my right shoulder is healing very well.

At first I was concerned that he did not recommend surgery for traumatic injuries to my knee. He knows his statistics. He was supportive throughout the rehabilitation process. Ultimately I did need to have the arthroscopic surgery but most of the injuries had healed on there own (full thickness tear ACL, multiple micro bone fractures and bone bruises). I'm 11 days post-op and very optimistic that I will be back to my sport very soon.

Dr. Gambardella is one of the best in the business. I have sent my wife and mother to see him. I also recommend him to my friends. We all play tennis and he know how to help. He does not push surgery. But rather as a last option to improve quality of life. This is important for those surgery averse to know. The entire team is excellent!

Had surgery this morning. The service from seeing Dr Gambrella from my first visit until today was great. Bedside manners of the doctor and the staff also the employees at the front and back were great. Would definitely come back if I ever need surgery again will tell my friends and family of my experience .

Dr Gamberdella is a great surgeon! My entire experience with him was excellant. Great bedside manner, highly competent support staff, excellant facility.

Dr. Gambardella is an amazing surgeon who takes time to make sure you understand your options, outcomes, and answers all your questions. He made feel extremely comfortable before, during and after my surgery.

Dr. Gambardella is extremely experienced. He is one of the best in the biz and knows what he is talking about. He takes the time to explain everything to patients and answers all questions. My experience with him has been fantastic. Kerlan-Jobe however deals with so many patients that scheduling and dealing with billing can be very frustrating and time consuming. But the doctors themselves are great.

Dr. Gambardella was very informative reference my injury and the options available to me. He explained complex procedures in laymen terms allowing me to understand the present conditions as well as choices towards recovery.

I have tore my ACL on both knees, and Dr Gambardella has flawlessly reconstructed them. I went on to play collegiate soccer after my first ACL reconstruction and have had absolutely no issues playing competitive sports. This man is a genius at his craft and has amazing bedside manner as well. What more could you ask for?
