I saw Dr. Patel for probably around 10 years and loved him. He was always very sweet...and understanding if my child had to come with me. After some staff changes I was treated pretty poorly--not by him. My prescriptions took 3 trips to fix and my job nearly fired me for having to make the trips, among fixing other issues. I wasted four days attempting to make an appointment with Dr. Patel's office before finding out he was not accepting new patients. First, as a Blue Cross/Blue Shield provider, Dr. Patel is listed on the BCBS website as accepting new patients. Several calls were made to his office Monday morning before finally getting through to voicemail, which indicated a 48-72 delay to return phone calls. I left a message but never got a call back. After waiting 72 hours I called back Thursday morning only to be informed they were not accepting new patients. It is very inconsiderate to not include this information on voicemail when informing callers to expect a 2-3 day delay in a callback. They should also notify any affiliated insurance providers they are not accepting new patients, especially since this office is unable to return phone calls from patients needing care in a timely manner. Gonna need an appointment, if I come back to rudeness Again....

I have been a patient of Dr. Patels for around 15 years. He has done wonders for me and my condition. Recently he has had some staff changes and the new staff is completely incompetent. I have been trying for 2 months to get my prescription renewed. They will not return phone calls when you leave a message. I finally got an appointment and confirmed it with them for a telephone appointment. They never called my at my appointment time nor did they follow up. I've been seeing dr Patel for over 4 years. Before that, i tried basically almost every other doctor in town. He is the best in town and one of the few who treats ptsd. The ONLY reason i dont give him and his office staff 5 stars is because they dont take insurance.

The staff is very friendly and the dr listens to what you have to say. It’s just a little hard to get in touch with them at times.

Dr Patel cares about me n all his patients. I love him. He cares for issues n my life n prescribed medication for each issue that I have. I highly recommend this psychiatrist.

I have been going to Dr. Patel for over 7 yeas, and he cares very much about my wellbeing and truly cares for each patient. He is extremely thorough and will help with whatever Isuess you may be going through. I have recommended him to several friends and family. I’ll alway go to him.

The ladies who work the front desk are beyond outstanding. Huge shoutout to them! I had to bring my year and a half old with me to the appointment... they were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Also, they gave me a call to let me know my insurance was pre authorized. This office is ran very well and it shows people care here.

He has changed my life completely. I went from thinking about how I would take my life everyday into feeling control and rationalization. He takes his time and doesn't over-medicate people to hope one of the multiple drugs works. Good things come with time and Patel holds a lantern while accompanying people through the dark paths of their minds. Dr. Patel's knowledge is beyond any other psychiatrist I have been to. Dr. Patel is the most knowledgeable and professional psychiatrist I’ve been to, and I’ve had to go since a car accident In 2002 where I was a passenger. I honestly have never been so well respected and taken care of. I will alway go to him. He definitely knows the psychiatrist field from top to bottom and is very thorough. He isn’t satisfied until he knows you are okay and happy.

Listens and is very understanding.

I have suffered with panic and anxiety since I was in 3rd grade. No one has ever been as concerned about my condition as Dr. Patel. I’m a very outgoing person, no obvious reasons for me to be depressed, but when my panic takes over for no reason... it’s bad. It’s a very dabilitating problem and finally I have a Dr. that understands. Who wants to be afraid to leave their house for no reason, or lay in bed shaking and unable to sleep? Even though I may “look ok”.... my panic is real and a major problem. Since I’m in my late 40’s, I’ve tried every book, meditation, excersize, you name it. Mr. Patel is very patient and listens to his patients. Patients are treated as humans and not numbers and $ signs. I was diagnosed by many psychiatrists in the past but Dr. Patel keept working with me until he got me on the right medications and the proper doses!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Thanks to his wife, acting as receptionist one Christmas Eve, Dr Patel saw me as an emergency & saved my life. My dr quit prescribing my medication without any notice. That Christmas Eve, he saw me & continued my medication I had been on for 15 years. Saving me!!

he's perfect for anyone who has been through years of counseling, therapy,group meetings,etc. he listens to my issues while understanding im about 11 years through counseling that just brings up past emotions. he listens and replies without judgment or ridicule. I have been calling his office since hurricane Michael. straight to a voice mail that cant accept new messages. what do I do!?

He has a lot of people in care, but he always seems to care about myself and he's always kind.

After waiting almost 2 months to get an appointment with Dr. Patel (as there is a longer waiting period for new patients), I gave the receptionist my Medicare card and went and sat down to fill out paperwork. I finished the paperwork when I heard my name called. This was 20 minutes into my wait at the office. There I was told that Dr. Patel had met his quota for Medicare patients for the year and was no longer receiving new Medicare patients. I'd like to know why in the almost 2 months that I had to wait for my appointment I was not told that he was not taking Medicare patients. I also want to know why I was not told that when I handed the receptionist my card, knowing full well that I was a new patient, which would have saved me 20 minutes worth of effort in filling the paperwork out. My only option was to pay $225 to see him which I am unable to afford obviously. So I had to leave without getting my prescriptions refilled which means I'll be having plenty of panic attacks, all because Dr. Patel looks at his patients as if they were just a number. I saw him back in 2014 for several months before I became extremely frustrated with his rude attitude and the way he treated me as if I were just cash. His bedside manner is terrible, so I left and went to a different psychiatrist. I was referred to him by my current physician and I will be discussing with her the reasons why she should no longer refer patients to him. He still owes me $150 in reimbursements from 2014 and refuses to give it to me. Dr. Patel is a very kind and caring Man as well as physician. I would recommend him.

Dr R. Patel has been my doctor since 2013. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a Psychiatrist who is pleasant and listens to you and isn't afraid to explore all options when it comes to your treatment plan.

He is a very good Psychiatrist!! I love going there! He is very easy to talk to, he helps u with any problems that u may have with any of ur medicines n he will make sure he finds what best meets your needs. (As in if u react to the medicines ur on, end up getting &/or get changed to He will work with u til it's right, he also trust to help u out with getting which ever medicines might cost u the least amount of Money). The staff was very great. . . but they have had a few other different people start working in the old staffs place so its not been as good. One main thing to remember is with this new staff u need to call a set up any (i guess u could call them) follow up appointments as soon as u can cause most times they tell u that it'll 've about or between 3 weeks - a month befor anything is available. I will say that they have been good when it comes to a last minute emergency (like running out of ur medicines to soon n having to get wrote a new/another script) kinda things, just call n click or an answering service n leave a message n 9 times outta 10 they call u within a day or two. if they have not called by the 3rd day id try to call the office again. Dr. Patel is an excellent psychiatrist and has seen members of my family who live in Texas, NYC and in Fort Lauderdale, as well as myself. I am a Behavioral Health provider and refer to him frequently. Could not have raised my gifted ADHD/ADD children as a single parent without his wisdom. His psychopharmacological skills are unsurpassed. He responds to urgent requests in a kind and professional manner. I have referred patients to him for 20+ years with one one dissatisfied.

Dr. Patel is AMAZING! He takes his time and truly listens to your "problems." You can tell that he cares for each and every one of his patients. I am so glad that I was referred to him. I would recommend him to any one and every one.

I have been treated with kindness and respect by staff and Dr. Patel. Meg is AWESOME and has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. This office works to keep you FIRST! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Patel as he truly cares about his patients AND their families. Their new office location is beautiful...so happy for them.
