Dr. Rajendra S Trivedi

I really love Dr. Trivedi but there are many things that make it just not worth going to him anymore. My recent encounter just makes me want to change pcp's immediately! I called to be seen for what I believed to be shingles and they told me that I might not want to come in if I think I have the shingles because shingles is VERY contagious. I didn't think much about that because I was speaking with the appointment receptionist who I just assumed didn't know that shingles is in fact not contagious, so I said well you can't catch shingles but if someone has never had the chickenpox they can get chickenpox if they come in contact with an oozing rash from the person with shingles and she said no you can spread shingles to other people, so I said no I promise, ask Dr Trivedi and she said I just did and its contagious and then said hold on a minute and when she came back it wasn't her but a nurse, so I explained to her what I had already been speaking about and she said shingles is highly contagious and you can give shingles to another person! I said well ok but this is the first doctors office that I'm hearing this from. The ER said it is not contagious unless you have not had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine but you can NOT give shingles to another person and my oncologist said the exact same thing, so she said call the pharmacist and they'll tell you and I said I already did and they said NO and the nurse then said what pharmacist told you that because I'm gonna call them! Yes, basically calling me a liar. I double checked this before I did anything because I take care of my elderly mom and I didn't want to risk giving it to her if this was indeed what I had. There was zero risk to my mom because she has had the chickenpox already!!! His staff should not be giving this information out to patients and I wonder if Dr. Trivedi even knows they are doing this and this perpetuates the spread of misinformation! This is my first time writing any health care reviews but its not going to hurt Dr. Trivedi because he is overbooked anyway and Danville doesn't have very many options anyway! I was a new patient there pretty recently to find a new primary care provider as I have just moved here from California and I enjoyed Dr. Trivedi. He was very nice but that’s about it. It didn’t seem at all like he knew what he was talking about nor his nurse for that matter as they had to literally google my symptoms. The joke of it all is the one particular “girl” at the front with an apparent chip on her shoulders who literally LAUGHED in my face when I was upset that they told me I had to reschedule my appointment as I was late EVEN THOUGH she gave me the wrong time and CALLED on the way there and turned me away after living already 40 minutes away driving over downed power lines from an ice storm. She was by FAR the rudest healthcare person I have ever met in my life. Frankly, she’s lucky I have some self control. The doctor I believe cares about his patients but that young lady up front could care absolutely less. She should not be working to care of ANYONE period. Dr. Trivedi is nice but the customer service is only par. And I stopped going for feeling like I was just a money-maker for the establishment. Also, I started refusing having blood drawn as it became a repeated thing every time I was there.
