Dr. Rainer S Vogel

Dr. Vogel is extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. He is the only Doctor who has been able to diagnose, and most importantly, treat the chronic pain that I've suffered with for decades. He truly cares about his patients. He listens intently, and is empathetic about your condition. I trust him completely because he has proven his pain management expertise, when no other physicians have been able to bring me any relief. Admittedly, there used to be extremely long wait times to see him. I believe that was because he sincerely wants to help people who are in chronic pain and doesn't rush his appointments with his patients. He has since corrected that problem in the past year and the wait time hasn't been longer than 30 minutes. If you are struggling with chronic pain, please make an appointment with Dr. Vogel. He provides excellent care to his patients.

I am so truly disappointed with Dr Vogel. I started my case in October of 2020!!! After getting into a bad car accident my attorney referred me to him, now almost 2 years into it we are not able to get my records/billing sent over to attorneys office. No matter how many times we called and left messages. I even went in person in regards to this issue and Dr Vogel promised to send notes the same night. 2 months later its still not done…. I have been to several other pain doctors in Vegas. Dr vogel is the BEST. Yes, the office staff has issues, but they are under a lot of pressure. I do hate not being able to get anyone by phone. Doctor is trying to fix that. But having a doctor who listens & is knowledgeable & truly compassionate is AMAZING & trump's everything else. They have made some incredible improvements. The wait time is way less and the office staff is much more pleasant.

Though Dr Vogel is a brilliant surgeon & a highly skilled physician in his specialty, the negatives now far outweigh all of this! As a longtime patient, I’ve seen staff come and go frequently, it’s outright scary! We aren’t talking about turnover in a fast food joint, we’re talking about people who are handling our private medical records! They’re poorly trained, w/o supervision, & left to serve us w/o proper knowledge and support. I don’t blame them, I blame Dr Vogel, it’s his name on the door! Appointments are overbooked, where an average wait time there is at least 2 hours, & that’s just to get called back! Then you get to wait another 30 minutes minimum to see him for 5 minutes! His time is valuable, (so is ours) so if you’ve got things to tells him that are important about your condition, write them down & be organized. Keep them short & to the point, & he WILL listen. I’ve never had issue w/him not taking the time to listen to me. Remember, if you go there will be problems!

The wait time for thisDr is absolutely atrocious. He should not be taking inn new patients her and his staff (Jackie) can't handle it. Waited in hold 30 Minutes and no coming on and rest assuring they will be with you. My mom has moved out of state and we have been trying to just have them transfer her meds to new pharmacy, we are going on two weeks now. Nothing. She is out, in pain and these people don't care. I'm in the industry and am appalledb at how's patients and their time- health are disregarded

The place is packed with patients during Covid. 15 of the 18 seats are full. The white nurse is very rude. The office staff has changed 3-4 times over the last 6 years. Two doctors have quit. The only thing that’s consistent is the long wait and aggravation.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Vogel for 6+ years. The wait has always been 2-4 hours and I became ok w that for him being a good Dr. Over the years I’ve grown increasingly more frustrated with their office. Currently we are in the middle of a global pandemic and they have their phones shut off. You can call all day and it won’t make a bit off difference. Their phones go to voicemail and the only way I’ve gotten to speak to anyone is to physically show up at the office. The absolute worst office staff I have ever dealt with. They do not answer their phones or return phone calls. My doctor requested records from Dr. Vogel in September and then again in December. Then a different pain doctor requested the records in April and they refused to fax them even after multiple phone calls from insurance and doctor. Then we had to keep going up there week after week asking for them. They lied straight to my face and said they would fax them but they didn’t. Because of their incompetence the procedures were canceled and we now have to wait another 60 days for insurance to approve procedures. So I have had to suffer pain all because they couldn’t bother to click a mouse and send the records. I had to threaten a court order and they finally printed them out and charged $ .60 a page and then we had to fax them to the doctor which cost another $100. Horrible. You have to wait 3 to 4 hours just to get into see the doctor. How many people do they give appointments to for the same five minutes. Not only that he has a Physicians Assistant now who is horrible he doesn't know how to write prescriptions. We had to go to the pharmacy three times to get it straightened out. Let’s start with the staff, Brenda at the front desk is extremely incompetent. She advises that the doctor will take two weeks to complete any documents such as FMLA or any physician statements for treatment. She also advises that she will call once completed and she never does. I am going on three weeks being in jeopardy with my employer due to the medical documents not being submitted. The phone time wait is about 20-25 minutes. Each visit wait time is average between 2-3 hours. Do not waste your time coming to this unprofessional establishment. I love having Dr. Vogel as my endocrinologist but you must double the follow ups with the office staff. I don’t know if there over worked or short handed. This is the third time on separate occasions the have failed to put my prescription in. I’d give the doctor a 5 star rating , but the staff a 1 rating.

Dr. Vogel has no concern for the well-being of patients that disagree with him. He would rather keep writing you scrips for dangerous pain medication, then look at what the actual current research is. It is my opinion that patients who disagree with his "ways" are denied any future treatment. from him or any other doctor. It is the impression of this person that this doctor is willing to leave a person who has been taking strong medications for 5 yrs + out to dry (quite literally). Strong caution when looking at this doctor for your Pain Management care. If you disagree with him, it will be a slow boat to China, before you'll get a response from his office regarding the release of your records. The doctor gets high marks but the office staff is so horrible I am considering taking my uncle to another place. You can never talk with a LIVE person. It all goes to vmail and no call backs and you have to physically go to the office just to get my uncles RX refill. I am very disappointed in Dr. Vogel, I went to him for several years and always had a long wait, Up to 5 hours some times and never got in at my appointment time. I had to call off from my work several times because I was stuck in the waiting room. Then I was told I would have to go somewhere else because they were not taking my Insurance anymore and when I contacted my Insurance Co. they said he was dropped for over charging on what their contract was. That was 2013 and I just found out they had put a 100 dollar collection on my credit bureau for 2 $ 50. Co-Pay’s I didn’t have, when I contacted there billing department they told me they wouldn’t do anything and to contact my Insurance Co. My Insurance Company said maybe that could be one of the reasons they are not on their program anymore. Dr. Vogel's lack of compassion for his patients is truly sad. My mother waited in pain 3 months to have the batteries in her back stimulator changed and two days before the appointment they cancelled the surgery. The only way I found out was when I calling them to find out what time I was supposed to bring her to the clinic. Then the assistant said OH! we cancelled that and we'll call you back with the new date. Never heard a thing after that! Also a simple 15 minute appointment will take you 3 hours just to get in. They constantly over book everyday. Dr. Vogel and his staff don't believe that your time is important and you should be willing to spend a day there waiting. Dr. Rainer Vogel has been my Pain Management Specialist for over ten years. Federal law mandates that I visit him monthly because of the medicines that he prescribes for me. Dr. Rainer Vogel is extremely professional, but also personable. I am so impressed that he often reports that he has recently learned something new from a conference that he has just attended or an article that he has just read. He offers new suggestions for procedures and medicines for my pain management. He checks (urine) that I am not abusing my prescriptions, and he has me bring in my medicines to be counted every month. Though his office is usually full, he treats me as though I am his only patient. I have complete trust in this intelligent physician, and I can think of absolutely no negative comment to offer about him. I am blessed to have Dr. Rainer Vogel, as he is an excellent physician. Dr. Vogel is exceptionally thorough and highly professional in his medical practice. I saw Dr. Vogel for 7 years and even the fairly simple monthly follow up visits were never less than 20 minutes face time with myself. For a follow up in a very busy pain management practice this is exceptional. As you can read in other posts, yes there is a time issue in this practice. Typically you will spend 60 to 90 minutes in the waiting room and then another 60 minutes in the exam room before the Dr. comes in. So, plan to spend a total of three hours for every appointment. The best way to get around this somewhat is to be scheduled as the first or second patient of the day: this will be as early as 7:30 AM. Yes, 2 1/2 hours is a long time, but in my opinion after 80 appointments in 7 years, the tradeoff to see Dr. Vogel is worth the wait. He explains, in detail, every expected outcome and always asks about other issues you may have. He is a concerned physician that just happens to have what some may say is the busiest practice in Nevada. With so many people trying to see him, there has to be a benefit over the risk of waiting time. Best idea is to bring a book, iPad or smartphone and just be prepared. I have been a long standing patient of Dr. Vogel. I can not say enough good things about him. He is well versed and has a wonderful bedside manner. He has helped me tremendously with my medical issues. You may have to wait sometimes , but that is because he takes time with each patient. He answers all questions and I have never felt rushed when it was my turn . I can assure you if you have any concerns regarding anything, just talk to him. He really cares .

I went to him a few times. The wait time is 1-2 1/2hrs, he is way over booked. He did take his time with me once I was in the room. I had an ablation. I watched videos on it and the patient did not seem to be in pain during the procedure. It was excruciating for me. I was sobbing telling him how painful it was and he just kept going. I did not get meds to calm me down or help with the pain. I've since talked to other patients who have had it and said they were given meds and felt nothing.

Don't bother if you're looking for a doctor who truly cares about you and your pain!! From the first appointment (where we waited over 2 hours to get into an exam room), if you are currently on any type of opioid medication for pain, you are treated as an abuser. My husband has metastatic cancer and 2 bulging discs in his back (has already had 2 back surgeries), and all this doctor has done is lower his dosage of pain medication. He doesn't listen to you, he interrupts you, and my husband (who has significant back pain), has never waited LESS THAN 2 HOURS to even get into the exam room! Don't waste your time. I had my first appointment at 10:30, arrived early with my paperwork completed, signed in and waited until 11:00. Asked at the desk how much longer the doctor would be and was told about 3 more hours. I did not have that much time to waste, so made another appointment for a few weeks later, this time at 8:30. Again I arrived early, waited a half hour after my appointment, checked at the desk and was told he was, again, running about 3 hours late. How can a doctor be running 3.5 hours late for an appointment at 8:30 ? The office is bad at scheduling and neither Dr. Vogel nor the staff care that patients are waiting, literally, for hours. Doctor Vogel is a compassionate and understanding pain management specialist. When you think you're at your wit's end with chronic pain, come see this doctor. He's got more tools than I'd have thought possible to help manage whatever is showing up in your body at this moment. He understands the nature of chronic pain with all of its physical and emotional manifestations. I've been seeing him since 2008 for chronic pain caused by radiation and chemo, and he has kept me active and engaged in life

Dr. Vogel is a friendly doctor who is always easy to talk to or ask questions. My experience with him has always resulted in excellent pain control. He is very thorough in determining the cause of pain and also extremely ethical and cautious when prescribing medication.

By far one of the best Doctors in his field that I personally have ever been a patient of. I've been treated by Dr. Vogel & staff in a very compassionate & professional. Great Healthcare is hard to come by & with the Pain Management sector of our health care reform so heavily scrutinized, it is crucial that the level of care be at its best. Many Americans suffer everyday from Pain & poor health care. Although in my opinion, medicine is not the cure all. When used in combination of a good diet, water, nutrition and excersise, one can seriously improve their quality of life! Dr. Vogel is worth any wait one might have. He see 's every patient, is very thurough, compassionate yet always looking for new ways to help patients remain as healthy as possible. People who have a closed mind or have misperceptions of what others who suffer go through really should really look at the health problems as a whole.
