Dr. Rafael Barrial

Made an appointment well in advance as I am very busy. When I got there I was told I wasn’t on the schedule! They had all my info and record of our conversation but never actually scheduled me in! What is worse is that they didn’t even fit me in to make up for their mistake and I had to leave without any appointment .. there was no effort on their part to try and rectify the mess up.

Probably one of the worst healthcare providers in Miami. Known for prescribing medications on a whim, to making insensitive, borderline racial comments. I went to him as a child all the way to my young adult years where I ultimately made the decision to go somewhere else and encouraged the rest of my family to as well. His staff treated me horribly years ago when I had gathered the courage to start going without my family as a young adult. The phlebotomist or nurse was fishing for my veins for blood, i had asked her repeatedly not to dig into my arm with the needle but to just remove the needle and attempt the stick again, she would clean my arm with an alcohol swab in preparation to reinsert the needle but just before insertion would touch the aseptic spot again with her dirty fingertips. Little experiences like that was alarming. Now I’m hearing from family there is a fee for blood work and upon results of the blood work you must then pay an additional fee to know the results. This MD laughed in my family members face when she confronted him over this and told her to look for a different doctor if this was an issue but just before the conversation ended he had some ounce of class and disclosed the blood results to her and when she asked an additional question following the results as ANY concerned PATIENT would, he made it clear he was done helping her. She was a LOYAL patient of almost 20 years even when I had informed her and others she should look elsewhere. As a healthcare professional myself and someone who works inpatient and with a plethora of medical doctors of varying specialties.. this type of MD is trash. If you can’t treat your patients like you would want your own family to be treated then perhaps it’s time to throw in the towel because the passion has clearly died. Please beware.. and look for a MD with a zest for knowledge and a normal human amount of empathy

I didn't have a chance to meet the doctor, I only saw the assistant in my appointment. I did a year preventive exam, asked them to review with my insurance coverage and they said everything was ok. Now I'm getting bills and they said I should have call the insurance directly. Bad service, they don't care about the patient and they lie. Now I'm not sure if the results they gave me are good and I have to check with another doctor. Do not trust that doctor's office.

I went to see him at the end of December ,He is very professional takes his time and answers all the questions . there is not a lot of doctors that really take the time with you.He is very thorough and very knowledgeable

Reasonable wait times, clean environment, personalized one on one care by an experienced doctor- I’ve only been there a couple of times and the staff remembers who I am, I feel I am taken care of, specially now that most medical offices make you feel like just another patient-

I had been searching for a new PCP when a friend recommended Doctor “B” and I was able to get an appointment as a new patient rather quickly- Staff girls are accommodating and my visit was very thorough-I am super happy I switched!

This place is a circus stay clear. Even with an appointment extremely long wait times. They don't value your time. If you value your health go Elsewhere!!!!

The office is clean and he’s nice, however, the wait time is ridiculous. The 3x I’ve had an appointment with him has always been +60 minute wait time

For healthy, without any risks people he might be ok, but for people with evident health risks Dr Barrial fails to do his job. My dad has been going there for years and he has been a smoker for many years. Every year he orders a chest xray. This year he has been diagnose with a 6 cm lung mass. There is something called low dose CT scan, it is a screening test for lung cancer in smoker. Every Dr I have spoke with know about this test because it is the standard screening test order for high lung cancer risk and was never order to my dad. This tumor would have been caught at an earlier stage. If you are only looking for your annual reg check up go for it. If you want a Dr who looks at you as a whole, and treats you like you are his family, and actually cares about you and helps you dont go with him. They dont care. For someone who s specialty is in geriatrics there are only two choices, you lack knowledge or compassion and im guessing he lacks the last one. Careless Doctor.

Xrays failed to do so and evey Doctor I have spoke with knows about this.

Had to wait +60 minutes in the waiting room and this is after it was hard to get an appointment with him.

Unfortunately, when I really need to see the doctor because of illness, he is not available. Completely booked. They would give me an appointment in two weeks. Emergencies should be handled urgently it is what doctors are for.

Just terrible. I called to speak to him 5 times in the course of a week because my father(also his patient) was admitted to ICU. NOT ONCE did he return my call. I even called crying one time . NOTHING.

I've been going for numerous years. Unfortunately like all doctors sometimes you have to wait a while. nothing new. especially with Dr. Barrial he has a lot of appointments. You can also opt to see the PA. she's also very good and we also see her and we get seen right away.

I wouldn't visit this doctor unless you have a half day to waste n his waiting room, and another half day to sit in the exam room before he blesses you with his presence. His staff is incompetent and he never has appointments available. I made an appointment to be the first appointment in his afternoon shift (as I do regularly) and wound up waiting over an hour and 45 minutes in his waiting room as his staff called in every other patient that came in after me.

Dr. Barrial is great, friendly and warm, very understanding and very knowledgable. He is also very detailed in the explanations and ensures you walk out of his office with all your concerns addressed. The staff is great!!!!

Dr. Barrial and his staff have been absolutely wonderful. He is very compassionate and always willing to do whatever it takes to assist you with a better quality of life. His staff is always helpful and very nice.

Dr Barrial is a great doctor always spends plenty of time with me . He couldn't be nicer and his staff is always very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone I know.

GO TO A DIFFERENT DOCTOR IF YOU CAN, THIS MAN DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A PROFESSIONAL. Dr. Barrial is an incredibly rude man and completely unprofessional with his patients. I went to him for a physical for the PEACE CORPS. Meaning I am signing up to do service work for the next two years, and he refused to help me with the paperwork. He was immediately rude and anxious because he had over-scheduled and had 4 people at the same time slot. When I needed to ask him questions about the paperwork he was literally rolling his eyes, and huffing and puffing with annoyance. When I expressed I had never been treated so rudely in a doctor's office he simply told me I can go somewhere else if I would like. He was standing at the door trying to walk out the entire time, and when he eventually did he made a comment about me to a PA within my earshot. He then communicated wrong information with his front office staff and was going to have me wait again (mind you I had been waiting for 30 minutes past my appointment time already and there were still three others with my same appointment time), so I told the woman that I was confused because I couldn't get clear answers from him because he was shuffling me out of his office. It was at this point that he came out and told me to leave his office and that he would refuse to see me or file any paper work for me. I will never be going back to this office except to get the paperwork they already have on file for me to take to a different doctor. They have the rudest receptionist ever! They took my blood three weeks ago and they have had my results for 3 days sitting in their office. When I called to see what the status was they said they had not reviewed my results because they were too busy and they have a lot of patients. Unbelievable. Completely unapologetic and unprofessional.
