Today was my first telehealth appointment with Dr. Rubin. She was the first physician to actually hear what I said and actually understood me. She explained things in a way I could understand and said there are many things in her "toolbox" that she can try. I actually have hope that after decades of seeing physicians, there is hope for me to get better.

Dr. Rubin is on a mission to change the way medicine has traditionally handled menopause and sexual health (i.e. doing very little, if anything at all!). An appointment with her is more like a visit with your very smart, well educated girlfriend. She immediately puts you at ease and not only validates your issues/symptoms but is committed to providing solutions. If you care at all about women's health (especially women in mid-life) make an appointment with her ASAP. It will be life-changing!

I saw Dr. Rubin to get relief from a common post menopausal problem---vaginal dryness. What I got was so much more---a complete restoration of my sexuality. Dr. Rubin is exceptionally intelligent and represents generational change in her professional field. She's openly caring and, as a sexual medicine specialist, is comfortable talking about all aspects of sex, sexuality and intimacy. She will make you feel comfortable too. Dr. Rubin has a newsletter, a blog and makes book recommendations for her patients to supplement their medical visits and assist with understanding more complex medical problems. She treats men as well!

Dr. Rubin is one of the most direct, understandable, comfortable (and funny) doctors you can see for answers about sexual issues. Her staff is warm and friendly; she was early for our appointment. She made sure I had ample opportunity to ask any questions I might have.

Dr. Rubin is, hands down, the best urologist I have ever had. The best physician, tbh. She is extremely knowledgeable, able to easily communicate with me, patient, and so, so deeply kind. She treats you as a person - will give medical options where needed, and present other options when appropriate. My life has improved by orders of magnitude under her care. I recommend her strongly. She's an absolute treasure.

Dr. Rubin is amazing. I am 53 and feel better than I did in my 40s thanks to her medical care. She really cares about her patients, looks out for you, and is very well versed in the latest evidence and research. She also is a brave advocate for changes to the medical establishment that value women's quality of life. I am so grateful and happy that I found her!

Dr. Rubin is a brilliant urologist and sexual health specialist who cares about her patients. During my first Telehealth appointment, she took the time to understand my personal background and to teach me about the physiological roots of my body. By doing so, she was able to diagnose my condition (even before my physical!). Her Telehealth presentation has enabled me to better understand what’s happening in my body and to feel more connected to it. It’s been enlightening working with her! Highly recommend

To my pleasant surprise, I actually enjoyed my long visit with Dr. Rubin. She deeply listened to my "story" without rushing. I felt understood, respected, and cared about and that I was in the hands of a knowledgable and skilled physician. I'm optimistic that, with Dr. Rubin's help, I will finally get relief from my urinary and rash/soreness issues. Dr. Rubin is smart, warm and caring and I look forward to partnering with her to help resolve my condition.

Words can't adequately express how grateful I am for her insight, knowledge, warmth and compassion for my problems. After bouncing around urologists, endocrinologists, I knew I needed someone with her expertise to confirm what I thought, and get properly treated with today's knowledge, not yesterdays myths. Dr.Rubin provided all that and more. She is an excellent teacher, and gives you the knowledge, treatment, and medication to get where you want to go. I am so fortunate to have found her. Don't wait, time is not your friend without treatment, call her office now.

No one better. The most open and available physician to help with genital and sexual health. In a manner of ease and open natured approach. You cannot find better. Take it from a fellow physician. This is the last doc you will seek for your urogenital/sexual/functional health needs. Look no further.

I could not have asked for a better physician and surgeon than Dr. Ruben. As my procedure, as well as the appointments before and after it, could be rather awkward, Dr. Ruben, aside from being a good surgeon, proved to have a gift for making a patient in my situation comfortable and not even embarrassed in the least. I am grateful to her.

Dr. Rubin is probably the best doctor I've encountered. She takes the time to really listen. She is very determined to find the correct and complete diagnosis and will not give up on you until you feel better. I went through four other doctors who misdiagnosed me before finding Dr. Rubin and finally getting on the path to a full recovery. Dr. Rubin specializes in unusual problems. Male or female, if you've got problems "down there" and are not getting anywhere with your current doctor, do yourself a favor and get a consult with Dr. Rubin. Her staff are wonderful too.

Dr. Rubin is a superhero! I wish I had found her many years ago. I've been a patient of Dr. Rubin's for nearly two years and have received unparalleled care from her and her staff. By the time I found Dr. Rubin I had seen too many doctors to count, leaving me with distrust and anxiety towards the medical community. Thankfully Dr. Rubin met me where I was. She presented her recommendations with respect and clarity. Her honesty gave me confidence to move forward. Her passion for her work is inspiring and she does not give up. She is unbelievably accessible, compassionate and understanding. Dr. Rubin believes in tailoring treatment to you and understands the complexity of living with a sexual pain conditions. She does not take insurance but that allows her to spend more time with her patients. Usually visits are around an hour long. She does not rush and takes time to answer all of my questions. I have recommended her to others and will continue to do so.

Dr. Rubin is absolutely amazing and I wish I had found her many years ago. She is much more affordable than other specialists in the area; she takes lots of time with you as a patient and is fantastic as both a doctor and a therapist. She is transparent about pricing and very understanding about the amount of money and time women have spent on these problems by the time they get to her. She is unbelievably accessible -- she sends you her email at the beginning of your first appointment -- and clearly passionate about helping her patients and increasing visibility for these issues in the medical field more broadly. Like most people dealing with these kinds of pain issues I have been through many doctors (including the best known specialist in DC) and spent thousands and thousands of dollars over the years, and finally feel like I've found the right place!

Undiagnosed urinary tract pain coupled with incontinence. The attacks come on suddenly, with no obvious trigger -- then disappear for days or weeks. They are agonizing. I've seen urologists, Johns Hopkins specialists, had pelvic MRIs, urodynamics tests, hunts for infection. No progress. Since my first visit I have had NO attacks and my urinary pain ranges from moderate to zero. This is the first progress I've had in more than two years. She helped me so quickly that I hope you will forgive me for being so dramatically grateful. Dr. Rubin is exceptional. And I am very, very grateful

I've been a patient of Dr. Rubin's for over a year now and I am so grateful to have found her! I have vestibulodynia and (finally) got an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment starting day one with her. Women's sexual dysfunction is complex and Dr. Rubin is well trained and highly experienced in this field. She doesn't just keep up with the current research, she helps do it. I feel like I got the best possible information/education and treatment by seeing Dr. Rubin. I had a successful surgery (vestibulectomy) and continue to get the help I need. One of my favorite things about Dr. Rubin is how much time she spends with me each appointment. I have time to get all the information and answers I need- it is not like a "typical" doctors appointment at all. Dr. Rubin really cares about all of her patients and I recommend her all the time to women I meet dealing with chronic pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction.

I have spent close to one thousand dollars seeing Dr. Rubin and have gotten 20-25 minutes total of face-time with her. The practice does not accept insurance, and the prices are very high. When I requested that a referral from a previous appointment be sent to the referred doctor, the receptionist said Dr. Rubin would not do so without scheduling a "quick phone call" ($210). I explained my financial situation, that none of my symptoms had changed, and that I just wanted a copy of the referral (should be in my file; she referred me at an old appointment but only gave me a hand-written sticky note). They said no and would not budge. If this is a concern for my "medical safety", a $210 billable phone call is not a diagnostic tool. Dr. Rubin herself is knowledgeable, but the appointments felt rushed and her bedside manner was, at times, harsh. Pelvic pain is an under-served specialization and many patients are desperate for help. Shame on this practice for taking advantage of that.

1st visit with Dr. R and very positive experience over all! She inspired hope and confidence that she will be able to help me with a tricky & rare condition that has been plaguing me for years. Took plenty of time, showed empathy and undersranding, answered any and all questions. ?? My only issues so far have been 2 snafus where prescriptions were sent to the wrong pharmacy, in one case, or not sent at all, in the other, causing delays in receiving the treatment. Both relate more to staff concerns than to the doc, personally. However, just a word to the wise, this is a busy practice and it pays to stay on top of medication details. I am going out of town for a week on Sun. and office is closed due to a long holiday weekend. Scrip I expected to pick up today was not called in as promised, so am now waiting for reply from the on call physician to take care of it.
