Easy to get into. However, I felt that everything was rushed and the optometrist was not very thorough. I expected to be asked to get my eyes dilated, but nope. Not that I minded that part. They had a good selection of frames. However, they didn’t ask me about what I wanted on my lenses other than the blue light and did not ask about the anti-glare, which I didn’t know was an option and not something just added until I got my glasses and pretty much had rear view mirrors due to the glare into my eye. No one offered to adjust my glasses or fitted them. In fact, I didn’t even get them in a case. Felt like there was a plastic film over my lenses - I actually checked multiple times! I took my glasses back, and found out about the anti-glare coating. They shipped them off, got them back, and I’m still having the same issue. If I place my head against a dark item, I can see behind me from the glare. I don’t have the time to keep running back to the office because my lenses are screwy. I’ve never had anything like it. Ever. Overall, I felt the care was subpar and rushed. The office is not a very welcoming environment, and my boyfriend had even greater issues than I did with them where the optometrist got his prescription mixed up and swapped eyes. When he brought this up, the optometrist swore up and down that it was the correct prescription, despite him trying it several times and finding his contact prescription was backwards as well. When I tried to obtain my prescription to order contacts the office refused to send it because the dr wasn’t feeling well and I would “just have to wait 14 days” When I asked the office to send it without the dr being there they said they couldn’t read it and the dr hadn’t written my prescription in my file before leaving and that there was nothing to print because they don’t put anything in a computer system. The office refused to issue a refund but I could not order contacts nor go elsewhere. I had already paid the copay and the office had already filed my insurance, but not finished my prescription nor dispensed anything. The office then accidentally charged me for the copay a second time. I called VISA to dispute the 2nd identical charge and inquire about it. Visa confirmed that it was in fact a separate additional charge and each charge was put thru on separate dates; they confirmed that there was no mistake on VISAs part nor mine. The dr refused to dispense my eyeglasses and prescription because I disputed the second charge. I notified the dr of the 2 separate charges on different dates and they denied the second charge. I was finally able to get my prescription 3 months after my exam. During the exam, The dr didn’t ask if I was having any problems other than covid screening questions; I have always worn eyeglasses or contacts so that was the ongoing “problem” I’ve always had and my only reason for my appointment. I am near and far sighted. When I asked why my prescription didn’t include bifocals like my last one she blamed me for not telling her that I had any vision problems although I answered every question and went thru the vision screenings. I filled out all of the paperwork without leaving blanks. I tried to go to another dr but this doctor had used my annual insurance limit. I would not recommend this office to anyone unless you already have a prescription and you’re shopping for frames. They did have a decent selection of children’s Medicaid frames, considering that selection is always small, which is a plus. However, the selection of all frames for children included ZERO flexible frame options even though our limit was $225 we had to go elsewhere to buy frames for sports. What a horrible experience. Rachel and her staff are very nice and friendly! I'm so glad we switched from Oelwein family eye are bc they are so much nicer the doctor actually talks to you and says hi!!
