Rachel Bluebond-Langner

I have an intersex condition, the I in LGBTQ(I). Had little knowledge of my situation other than I’m intersex and desire a revision from the surgery I had as a child since I now have complications. Receptionist: “Oh she said that’s something she doesn’t see”. She only sees people patients born into a binary body which is fine but it limits her practice and leaves a lot of others who need help with no where to go. Unfortunately it probably means her surgical skills are limited if she is only does genital reconstruction limited populations & is hesitant about revisions. Also- the publications she has written, if intersex people are involved they are referred to as DSD (Disorders of Sexual Development) which is outdated and offensive. I’ll be sure to recommend to other intersex people I know that she is NOT an ally to the intersex community

Dr. Bluebond-Langner is the best around. Full stop. Her team is kind, compassionate, organized, professional, and above all high, high quality. I've had 3 surgeries with Dr. Bluebond-Langner, all with fabulous success. I had vaginoplasty, breast augmentation, and body contouring. I refuse to go to anyone else as she is the top notch in her field. She is leading the way in gender affirming surgery and I encourage any trans person seeking medical transition to get yourself an appointment with Dr. Bluebond-Langner. All of Dr. Rachel's staff are absolutely 100% enthusiastic and respectful. They care about the patients that are seen, do what they can and answer at the best of their knowledge. Dr. Rachel went through everything, took her time to educate me, was very down-to-earth as well as respectful. Kudos to University of Maryland. All of you are amazing.
