About Dr. Prevesh K Rustagi
Reviews for Dr. Prevesh K Rustagi
Dr. Rustagi is a good person. He is very professional, and you just have to trust him. He knows what is best, but does not understand sometimes. He will provide controlled medication until you suffer without it. Any attempt to explain the agony will be used against you with police "wellness checks" and hospital jail until you stop talking. I suffer from a treatable condition, and cannot access medical assistance without oppression as an addict to the medication approved to treat it. I think you understand.
The receptionists are incredibly rude. They don't say hello when you walk in, they are sitting behind their computers to where you can't see them and they don't even acknowledge you when you walk up to them to check in. Then when you do finally speak to them they are short and not friendly at all. Dr is kind the first appointment, then you're just another number after the initial appointment. I do not recommend.
Dr. Rustagi is the best psychiatrist I have had after trying Parkview psychiatry (poor experience) and Viking psychiatry (horrible experience). Dr. Rustagi is very caring and has excellent knowledge and experience. He has been available when I need him even in urgent situations. He came highly recommended by my clinical psychologist and now I know why. If you are looking for a great and caring doctor, don’t look any further!
does not listen to female patients, makes frequent med changes, and ignores concerns about side effects
Their intake forms don’t mark your progress, so you have to call to figure out if you need to finish others. Then asked me to get records from a previous psych before they could schedule an appointment. Then I had to call 3-4 separate days, multiple times a day. Finally 3 weeks after the first call, they say they can’t see me because I have a history of medication and wasn’t specifically recommended to them. AWFUL organization, AWFUL communication, and their response to telling me they can’t make me an appointment after nearly a month of back and forth is “try the walk in clinic”. Find someone who takes your health more seriously and avoid getting the runaround from these people. I was recommended to Doctor Rustagi by my therapist after having a poor experience at another facility. Reading these reviews prior to my initial appointment, I was extremely apprehensive owing to the Doctor's reputation for being direct and rumors that I had heard about the customer service of this facility. But I needed help, I WANTED help, and as I discovered continuing to receive treatment from this institution, these rumors are completely false. Doctor Rustagi is direct, but necessarily so, and not in the manner that he has an unearned reputation for: Aside from the thorough intake appointment, follow-up appointments are short (which is an industry standard) and he needs to make sure he gets all the information he needs to make necessary adjustments and to render the most effective medical advice / make appropriate diagnoses. I can see how this might turn some people off, but at the end of the day it works, you just have to be honest, open to receiving the help that you came for, and commit to the often long journey intrinsic to dealing with mental illnesses and maladies. Terrible. Continually talked over me, interrupted me, and just overall didn't listen to me.

He broke hippa laws by talking to a "friend" of mine about my condition without my consent. Was very condescending and rude. I have contacted a lawyer about the hippa breach.
Fantastic! Dr. Rustagi is direct and pragmatic. At first he may seem cavalier but he is not. I've warmed to him over the last 2 years and recommend him to anyone that is having issues. He nailed my diagnosis, with my meds I was feeling great within a few weeks. I always look forward to my wellness visits. He is always very attentive. I've had issues with dosage and finally became allergic to one of my meds. When I explained the situation to his staff he offered to give me a same day after hours appointment. He stayed at his office 90 minutes after he should have been home with his own family seeing urgent patients. We switched meds and I'm back on track. Could not recommend Dr. Rustagi more. Fantastic! Does not seem to understand suffering, or conscious experience outside of his own.
I'm current going to a facility as part of Parkview Physicians Group and as of the end of this month, they will no longer be in-network with Anthem. I filled out a new patient application explaining why I'm looking for a new provider. Dr. Rustagi followed up via email and said, "I'm a bit puzzled by your statement that [they] will no longer be taking anthem starting next month. That is odd because that is one of the main insurances they take and it constitutes a substantial chunk of their practice. Something does not sound right about it. Who told you that they will no longer be taking anthem?" Um, how many times has this negotiation issue been in The Journal Gazette this year?? I told him my employer informed me and I sent him a link to the Parkview Health website page that is dedicated to the Anthem negotiations. He actually told me verbatim, "Parkview and Anthem have gone through this process previously also. Very likely they will come to some kind of a settlement. It may be best for you to get a couple of months refills from your present provider. We would be happy to see you but there is no point in starting with a new physician for a temporary issue." This man actually turned away my business and refused to believe me even after I told him how I came to know that this situation is indeed factual. No way in heck will I be visiting his facility if this is the way he treats potential new patients. What ultimately made me decide that this wasn’t the place for me, were the receptionists. They were short, rude, and never seemed to know what was going on. When you are working with people with mental health issues you should be a little more careful about your tone and willingness to help.
I haven’t seen the doctor myself, a family member does. And they say they are good. Very much recommend. But I waited on the waiting room and could everything thing that was said. I myself would not like people in the waiting room hearing my conversation with the dr. The doors are closed and you can still hear conversations.
wonderful doctor! truly cares for me.
Dr Rustagi over medicates. He should have his license removed. Do not trust him to properly treat your child.
Dr. Rustagi has been treating myself and 2 other family members for about 6 years. He is knowledgeable and compassionate. He is also very direct, which some people don't take well. His staff is kind, courteous and efficient. In all these years there have been very few issues with scheduling or billing. I really appreciate all of them.
He is the most understanding doctor when it comes to coping with the trauma of childhood sexual abuse. He really cares about his patients.

If you want to wait 30-60 minutes after your appointment time, to be seen..this is the place for you.
I enjoyed going to Dr. Rustagi. He wasnt friendly, but he took the time to understand what I was dealing with and I felt his diagnosis and medicine prescribed worked. I left his office due to his staff. When I missed and appointment I was told I couldn't reschedule. I was not informed that all I needed to do was pay a fee for missing my appointment. I also had one of his front desk personnel shut there glass in my face as if I was a bother checking in. I personally have never been treated so rudely by staff I just couldn't bring myself to go back into his office. I enjoyed going to Dr. Rustagi. I've been seeing Dr rustagi for 10 years I look for 30 before I found him he is turned out to be a true lifesaver he was there for me in the beginning anytime I needed in all I had to do is call him and yes it did take several medications for us to find out the right one for me and as some of the rest of you put he's very understanding very patient but the man is very blunt and they don't pull any punches that's what I like about him he's the best one I've ever seen and if anything ever happened to where I couldn't see him I would be totally lost he's a very good man very professional very kind good staff not a long wait and Dr rustagi is a smart man I think the rest of these people that have left negative comments just didn't like it because he is direct and straight to the point and willing to help anybody if they had a bad experience then there's probably something Dr rustagi picked up on that just didn't settle with him. He's never been rude telling me he's been there for me for everything at night early mornings he's a good man and he's very good at his job I would highly recommend him to anybody he has excellent insight! Great staff and doctor.
Long ago in the early 1990s I had been suffering from depression and treatment was not working. I went to Dr. Rusagi and he worked until he found the best solution; a solution no other doctor had considered. That treatment has carried me through to today and beyond. He was diligent in solving the problem, unlike any other doctor I had seen. Thank you for saving my life and making it possible to be a productive person. You are the best. I’ve been seeing Dr. Rustagi for years. He is THE BEST! He listens to you to fully understand what’s going on before prescribing any meds. He is always cautious with me, and orders tests whenever it is even remotely necessary. He is polite, and caring. I don’t know what I’ll ever do when he retires! Long live the DOC!
I have been going to Dr. Rustagi since I was around 8 or 9 years old. I had gone to many doctors before him and no one could help me. I had horrible panic attacks and couldn't even go to a store or restaurant. My life has completely turned around since we started going to Dr. Rustagi. He does say it like it is, but I do too so that's one of the things I like about him! Once you get used to his personality, he's fine. He is very smart and really knows his stuff! He is on the clock the entire time, with a focus of getting as many as possible through his overcrowded office. Not interested in explaining anything. "its your choice to keep him (my son) on meds",..."I only prescribe them",... "do you want the prescription or not"...

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. The recepitionist are VERY sweet and professional. As for Doctor Rustagi he is very rude, racist and unprofessional. He will ask questions and cut you off mid sentence. He is NOT child friendly. I brought my daughter to one visit she is 5. He talked to her and I like dogs. He was very friendly with other patients that weren’t of color. It’s very sad to see that a doctor would even allow his racist ways to enter his practice and its a shock that not even small children are safe from his racist ways. I’m appalled and disgusted at the way my daughter and I were being treated. If it was possible to give zero stars I would. The recepitionist are VERY sweet and professional. Great Staff, Great Doctor
Extremely good at diagnosis, really knows about medications and how hey work and side effects
He is the only Doctor I will go to. Very good diligence.
I have seen many Psychiatrists in my lifetime. If you really want to improve your mental health, he's the one to see. As a patient of his, I went to one of his seminars on Mindful Meditation. It teaches you how to be gently aware of the experiences you are faced with. It also teaches you to keep from attaching to your emotions. I have been practicing this along with neurofeedback and counseling. His next seminar is October 10th, 2017. I suggest making an appointment with him if you are truly seeking to improve your life. I also suggest you go to the seminar. I wish you peace and wellness on this journey we call life. I have seen many Psychiatrists in my lifetime. He seems a little "blunt" during his visits with you, but he is very cordial and friendly. He is very efficient at what he does and really understands his patients. He is an extremely intelligent man. This doctor was very helpful to me and to be able to say I trust him means a great deal. Glad I found him.
Dr. Rustagi is hands down the best psychiatrist I've ever been to. From my first appointment with him all the way to now, he's been kind, respectful and incredibly helpful. He treats me like I'm a human being , which seems to be rare when it comes to mental health. I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes at his office. And in an emergency, I've been able to get same-day appointments, which was a life saver for me. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's looking for a great psychiatrist in Fort Wayne. I was a patient of Dr rustagi and he helped me he is amazing his phrase is can't have your cake and eat it too
Dr Rustagi is kind, patient and understanding. He is tremendously helping with my GAD, I would recommend to anyone needing mental health services.
Dr. Rustagi is hands down, the best Psychiatrist in Fort Wayne. A friend referred me to him after we had struggled with another provider. She said that she had seen Dr. Rustagi since she was a teenager and now takes her teenage son to him. She said she has always felt that he was good at listening to a patient and then discerning medications that would best help. I found him to be the same. My son has five diagnosed mental health diagnosis's and is complicated to medicate. He was very patient with us as it took trying multiple medications to find the best one for him. We spoke multiple times on weekends and he took the time to understand our situation and make changes as needed. I now see Dr. Rustagi myself, and have found him to be an intelligent prescriber. Quick yet efficient. Direct yet sympathetic. He was willing to work with us to find the right combination of meds. I think our longest wait time has been maybe 20 minutes? I love how he has interns who get to learn from him. I would totally recommend him and his staff!

He's good at ordering the correct meds but wait time up to an hour at times, clients in waiting room shackled & beat up at times. He Told my 9 year old after an hour in waiting room then went in to see dr & he wanted to leave- Dr told me he has ODD ( which he doesn't have) oppositional defiant disorder b/c impatient. he dictates while you're still in the room & schedules patients back to back with no time for discussion. We left him,had enough of feeling unimportant:(

Dr. Rustagi has been my son's Dr. since January. He diagnosed my son with Bipolar disorder and has stayed by his side ever since his diagnosis. Every time my son was admitted into acute care at Parkview Behavioral, Dr. Rustagi was there. Weekends, holidays, he was there. He never gave up on us and we are forever grateful for his time and love. If anyone is looking for a psychiatrist that cares, and shows it, please contact this man. He is amazing at what he does.
Dr. Rustagi is a brilliant doctor, who tells it like it is. He may seem to have a rather clinical demeanor, but that is his job. He understands psychiatric medications, and he will not overmedicate a patient. If you need hospitalization, trust me, he will put you there. He was my psychiatrist for years, and I trusted him implicitly. If he thinks your treatment needs to be augmented with therapy, he will refer you to an excellent therapist. That's what he did with me. See him. He's the best
Would not see me because I had been hospitalized in the past.
This was not a great experience. I talked to a woman for over an hour explaining everything and why I was coming in to see a psychiatrist. The actual psychiatrist then came in and spoke to me for about 7 minutes and diagnosed me but did not describe or explain anything about the diagnosis. If you want a psychiatrist that actually seems like they care about their patients, don't go here. This was not a great experience.
