Dr. Prakashkumar Patel

Highly don't recommend to anyone. Was asked to bring in all records on paper & meds because they don't look at disks. Dr Patel didn't even look at the meds & skimmed thru some of the records quickly, while stating my dad can't communicate well but wouldn't let us speak for my dad. Called my sister rude. Asked my dad if he had life insurance, that he should get it & also told him he needs to change his insurance to Medicare that his primary Dr is out for money that's why we aren't getting the answers we need, that his primary Dr told him that my dad had a stroke. My dads never had a stroke. Rushed us. We were there to get his head symptoms checked out, never even looked at his head. Talked over us. Stated he needed certain info that was on the records if he took the time to read it. He didn't take the time like a real dr would. He was "running behind schedule". He also prescribed meds that shouldn't be mixed with high blood pressure meds, he would of known that if he looked thru my dads meds. I would give a 0 rating if available. Waste of time.

Very detailed and took time to explain everything. This Dr. is truly amazing!

Rude, rude, rude! The doctor should see a real neurologist to get help with his hang ups!

Dr. Patel was extremely rude and degrading with no regard to patient privacy. During checkout he spoke loudly about my situation and medical testing in front of other patients. He also shouted at me to sit down and not to speak to other patients in the waiting room. The entire experience made me feel more like an outsider rather than one of his patients. This uncomfortable encounter and his very odd behavior was reported to my PCP. When contacted by my PCP his office refused to provide my PCP with any information regarding the incident. For anyone who is suffering a neurological disorder and is vulnerable and relying on the care and knowledge of the physician, I do not recommend Dr. Patel.

I had a very good appointment with Dr. Patel. I was concerned reading other comments but found him professional, knowledgeable, and very informative about my condition. He spent a great deal of time with me and did not rush. I would not hesitate to recommend him for others needing to visit a neurologist.

New to the area so new Doctor. So far I'm very pleased. Dr. Patel listened and was genuine.

My wife went to see this physician, All that he cares about is money, We have great insurance and all out of pocket is met, her refuses to see patients until he feels satisfied he is going to get paid. Looking at the other reviews, I see this is a trend.

Poor physician, thinks he works in Beverley Hills. This physician will not see patients unless he is assured he will be paid. We have all co pays met for the year due to unfortunate health issues, however he does not care. We witnessed him be rude to an elderly patient who did not bring his medications with him, refusing to see him until he brought them to him.

Excellent. Very thorough, takes the time to explain what he's doing and whu.

I was scheduled for my second visit with Dr. Patel and I was 15 minutes early for my 10 am appointment as requested. There was only 1 patient in front of me so it looked as though it would be an easy in and out visit today! After sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes and watching 2 other people that came in after me see the doctor it started to get frustrating because I had another business appointment scheduled for 11:30. Finally I hear the doctor call my name as he is walking towards the waiting room. Ready to go in he stops me and loud enough for everyone in the waiting room to hear he states"I will not be seeing you until your last bill has been paid". I said "last bill?"; I wasn't aware I had a bill with you I thought my insurance covered everything". Did you even send me a bill, I never got one in the mail" He then told everyone in the waiting room, that unless I gave him my personal credit card information so he could bill me personally, he would not be seeing me for my appointment that I have been waiting almost an hour for!! I was shocked! I told him I never received any bill from him or the insurance company, if I had I would have paid it prior to coming in for this appointment. I mean isn't that why they ask you to come in early??? to straighten out any co-pay issues?? Up to that very moment I was under the understanding that the insurance company had taken care of it. Before I could even pull out my wallet to pay the $95 co-pay from the last visit, he called another patient into his office and ignored his own assistant who was telling him I was paying, "you can see her now doctor" she was yelling!! Well I looked at the assistant and she started apologizing profusely, over and over and she told me, "I don't take cared of the billing, he does"! That is when I asked for my money back and said to her "if he does his own billing he certainly isn't any good at it"...."I can only imagine hat kind of doctor he is!" I just amazes me how you can schedule the first appointment of the day with a doctor, and still wait an hour to be seen. What makes them think that their time is any more valuable than ours?? On top of it all the total for the last visit (which took only 30 minutes after an hour wait), was $395!!! for 30 minutes!! I don't know but getting paid $690 an hour to make people wait in your office all day is atrocious!! Who else would you pay that kind of money to and be treated that way!! 2 visits add up to a vacation to the Bahamas, and you get treated like a king!! I'm done with Patel and Sunrise Neurology, and this isn't the only post I am making on this!! This doctor is rude, insensitive and does not listen. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with a doctor ever. I went to him because he had no wait list and because he was attending at the hospital I was previously admitted to but I would not recommend him to anyone!

I have been seeing Dr. Patel since I was diagnosed with MS in 2013. I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Patel and I would not go to anyone else. Dr. Patel is understanding and compassionate and always thorough and answers all my questions.

Dr. Patel showed lack of interest when called to hospital were I was admitted. He was arrogance & condescending to myself and my wife like we inconvenienced him. He showed me poor quality of care, charged visit to insurance company as an office visit not in hospital stay. When I tried to resolve bill by making sure they billed primary & gap insurance as hospital and not office visit since it was the place we meet. It has been nothing but a nasty surprise that I find myself fighting this bill.
