Prakash Sampath

So, I was a 43 year old woman about to start Hygiene school when Dr Sampath did my Replacement of L/5 S/1. I was so scared of all who have had back surgery and their horror stories…. I was in so much pain before the surgery that I could have never gotten through school let alone have a career in Dental Hygiene. I am living proof. He is Amazing! I had that surgery in 2011 and not another day of pain!!!! I am 53 now and have gained a bit of weight from quitting Smoking but still no pain. No stiffness no Rainy weather ache… NOTHING! Between his amazing Skills and my attention to detail. ( THAT MEANS, FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS ON HEALING RESTRICTIONS TO THE TEE). I STILL feel like a million bucks! Thanks Dr Sampath! My husband had extensive spine surgery just over a year ago done by Dr. Sampath. Due to a failed previous back surgery done by a different doctor, my husband needed a three part procedure to remove loosened and install new hardware which required an 11 day hospital stay, all still during Covid restrictions. I will never be able to express the gratitude for the professionalism, care and kindness that Dr. Sampath, Phyllis, the nurses and staff gave to my husband and I throughout this stressful time in which I was not able to be with him more than a few hours a day. Dr. Sampath called me personally after each procedure to inform me of my husband’s outcome and to explain the next step His postoperative care was second to none with both Dr. Sampath and Phyllis and though back surgery recovery is no picnic, he did remarkably well much more quickly than either of us expected. We are forever grateful. Another thing that shouldn’t go unmentioned is Dr. Sampath’s wonderful bedside manner. He is an extremely kind man. Let alone brilliant!!

Dr. Prakash is an exceptional doctor on all levels, no reason to go to Boston with her expertises right here at home!

He has done 5 spinal fusions on my Mom, she is 85 and she is extremely active for her age. , Still drives, gardens, etc. I just had my 3rd surgery and again it was a success. No complaints.

Unfortunately, the only time he stops recommending procedures and surgeries to be performed by himself, his wife, or colleagues is when you are dead and he can't bill Medicare any longer. I was at a doctor's office at Mass General and someone in the waiting room was there to correct an issue this doctor caused. I couldn't believe someone was there telling a story of how he broke this them by all the surgerieshe performed. Luckily, we realized he was recommending unneccessary procedures and surgeries for our eldery mother and got a second opinion. If you go see him, make sure you get a second opinion. To me, dr Sampath is my body mechanic, totally love this guy, and amazing staff. He actually listens!! I look forward to him helping me once again. Great bed side manor genuine guy

Amazing doctor and surgeon. He's done 6 out of my 8 spine surgeries, and I'd be in a wheelchair without him. I previously saw 7 other doctors in Rhode Island, and they all said they couldn't help me.

HORRIBLE MAN and DOCTER. DO NOT go to him if you want to live. Almost killed my father and when we questioned him about it he said that everything was fine. He would only go in for surgery after my mom begged him that something was not right. When he did exploratory surgery, he found a horrible infection. He was refusing to see him and then the infection got so bad that it had moved to his brain and throughout his body. My father is now permanently disabled, he can not turn his head at all and very minimal movement in his left hand. This man is extremely pompous and arrogant and does not care about his patients. ALL HE CARES ABOUT IS HIS PAYCHECK. One star is WAY to high of a review for him.

Dr. Sampath and Phyllis are both wonderful. Dr. Sampath has performed two procedures on me and I’m very happy with the results. He is patient friendly and is knowledgeable in his field of expertise. I consider myself very fortunate to have had him recommended to me. I gave four stars instead of five only because his front office staff leaves a lot to be desired. They lack in friendliness such as the basics of saying hello or even just acknowledging you when standing at the window. I do realize that lunch is important but I don’t believe it takes away too much to be kind and or friendly. Dr. Sampath and Phyllis are both wonderful. Dr Sampath is an extremely great doctor!

Dr Sampath has been my Dr since I had a mass on my temporal lobe in 2005. He did a awesome job with my surgery and hes very compassionate in what he does. He defintely explains everything in terms I could understand. I had to return bk recently due to a small mass on my brain stem that he found in 2005 while he was checking to see if everything healed ok with my craniotomy on the temporal lobe. I have been experiencing alot of difficult things with my mass on my brain stem like memory loss, loss of eye sight and numbness on my left side of my face with some drooping and some petty mole seizures. His PA recently made an appt for me and she was very nice and I was comfortable with letting her know what was going on. I will return on the 28th of Oct to see what the Cat Scan showed and what they will do. Hopefully they come up with a treatment that will reduce the pressure and swelling so I can get back to my daily rountine without any issues. Prayers will get me through this im sure. Dr Sampath has a wonderful bedside maner but most of all he is very skillfull. My husband had 2 surgerys on his back and can now walk without a cane. It is amazing how he recovered we are now into 4 month he is back to work!

Okay this is a specialist. If you expect to go in & out in less than 15 minutes you need to realize that each & every patient has extremely different issues even if we’ve had similar surgeries. I have lots of questions when I’m there & I do worry about others waiting but I need to understand why certain things are happing to me & what I need to do to help myself. Be patient. They are wonderful & give EVERYONE the same attention they need & deserve. Phylis is wonderful & compassionate & if she doesn’t agree with one of my other Physicians she will explain why & suggest I see another physician she recommends. He and his entire staff are professional, caring and passionate about their Work .I am a RN by trade; you don't meet many doctors and PAs that care like Dr. Sampath, Phyllis, and Emmy.

I had a fall accident on 2010 went down the stairs on my spine about 15 steps. After a lot of pt and seeing Dr Handle in RI he was more concered about my medical insure than me as his patient my primary dr refered me to Dr Sampath in 2012 and as soon he saw the MRI he did my cervical fusion wow it was excellent i have nonmore pain and everything in that area and arms are good. Then he send me to do a MRI and I had some broken discs on the lubar area ( more complicated) well to make the long story short Dr Sampath did 3 more lumbar fusions. He is a outstanding Dr and I do recomend him to any person with spinal problems. I trust him with my life. So he did a total of 4 spinal fusion on me, he explained all the pro and what can go wrong, he Have very much compassion for his patients and takes hime to listen to your concers. He threat his patients like family member. Definitely i will not give him 5 stars but yes 10 stars My last suegery was 07/25/2018 and after the surgery i was walking on my own and no pain. Fantastic doctor. I've had 2 surgeries on my back this last one done in April 2018. It was a big surgery an I am doing very well. I had 3 disc's fused in my neck in April 2017 which was a big success. I have had problems with my back for 10yrs before doing the first surgery so that's a little more difficult to perfect, but Dr. Sampath is very smart an kind an explains everything so you understand what will be happening. Dr. Prakash Sampath is an Awesome Doctor

The staff here has treated me like family. With attention to my needs being met first, even a walk-in visit allows me to see personnel like Cherry, who is always waiting and eager to help with a smile, and when you say thank you, she tells you that’s here job. When I need an immediate visit and Dr. Sampath is not in, the PAs, like Phillis, are willing and once again eager to accept you within a timely manner to respond and calm whatever worries you may have. Thank you guys and great work!

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Sampath; a miracle surgeon! I was not able to walk before my surgery and now I am able to walk with no pain. He wasn’t very prompt and thorough. He has changed my life!

He literally helped my sister walk again! She was in crushing pain for 2 months, laying on the ground and still sobbed daily because of her discomfort. She tried cortisone shots, physical therapy and nothing worked! A couple of visits to see him and she’s walking comfortably and living life the way she did before her crippling pain. We love Dr. Sampath!!!

I had a two layer decompression surgery on my Lumbar Spine. My recovery has been slow, but Dr. Sampath's PA, Phyllis and his medical assistant Sherry have been very helpful during this whole procedure. I have called the office several times with concerns and questions and both Sherry and Phyllis have been very professional and prompt with returning my calls.

I had pain from a no disc on l5 s1, I had moderate stenosis and retrolylisis. I had a spinal fusion l4 to s1. I had not been able to sleep through a night for over a year because of the pain. Dr Sampath and his assistant Emmy and the Staff were awesome. Highly recommend. I have never had doctors go into detail explaining my condition like they did.

5/11/2017....my wife just had an emergency surgery. Dr. Sampath ordered at CT, but since my wife is already here at the hospital, we figured it would be easier to have the office transfer the order here. My wife will not be able to travel for awhile. So when we called, the office was open for another 10 minutes, and asked for the order to be transferred, the lady had hung up on us. We called back and asked for a supervisor to help rectify the situation, the secretary gave us a hard time. Needless to say, supposedly there was no supervisor, no help, and now we are stuck throughout this weekend with this problem. We will be making a complaint to the insurance etc. Because this is irresponsible on their part. Just because it was 10 minutes before closing and on Friday, shouldn't be any excuse to not do your job. 5/11/2017....my wife just had an emergency surgery. I have recomended Dr Sampath to quite a few people. He has been my Dr since 2004. I have had several surgeries with great success. I wouldn't be walking today if not for his skill

I have been a patient of Dr Sampath's since 2002 and i would not trust anyone else for neuro-surgery. Dr Sampath is an outstanding surgeon and individual. His office staff is top-notch and goes out of their way to take care of the patient.

Had surgery c5-c6 cervical fusion and as soon as I woke up after surgery the pain radiating down my arm was gone. Dr. Sampath explain the surgical procedure throughly and advised me of the risks involved. His whole staff was amazing from beginning to end. I couldn't be happier with the way I was treated.

Actually took the time to explain what was going on. Explained in detail what the surgical procedure would involve. Never felt rushed while in the office! On the day of surgery, spent quite some time with family and answered all of their questions!

I am a young mom with 2 very active boysI run a business with my husband. I was referred to Dr Sampath by a neurosurgeon who had performed a laminectomy six years ago. Dr Sampath took the time to get me right into his office so we could discuss what was going on and how long. He was the first person to show and explain my MRI! He diagnosed me with degenerative disc disease and was right to the point. I can't thank him enough! The fusion worked 3 weeks out I'm feeling my legs! THANK YOU ??

My mother, brother-in-law and myself have all been operated on him. We all had amazing experiences!! Phenomenal surgeon!! My neck has never felt so good!

I seen Dr. Sampath a handful of times.. I was in an accident and heard he was a good spine doctor. I would become increasingly annoyed at every visit because the waiting room was always filled to capacity, and the wait was never under 1 1/2 hours. Finally once in the room you had to wait never less than 45 minutes. The Doctor seems very knowledgeable and convincing. I was told I needed surgery but because of my age ( under 25 ) I felt like I should wait and seek alternative treatment first. Which I did. He later sent me for a Myelogram and I developed Chemical meningitis right after the procedure. After suffering with the extreme pain a family member took me to his office. They couldn't see me so we just showed up without an appointment. After sitting in his waiting room vomiting for over 2 hours they finally fit me in. He explained that I had chemical meningitis and I spent the next 5 days in the hospital. It wasn't his fault I got meningitis, his fault comes when he couldn't find time to see me and I sat home in extreme pain for 2 days begging for him to see me. Finally I decided to find a new doctor. That's when I requested my records. OMG the workers there are horrible. They treat you with no respect!!!!!!!.The office manager is the worst of them all. If that's actually her job (Zenobia). I would urge anyone who is thinking about visiting his office... Think again!!! Please! Word of advice for Dr. Sampath revamp your employees. Your front desk and management for sure.
